walz is a truly excellent pick. shapiro maybe had a short term advantage of pulling in a point or so of PA voters, but his rightward tilt in many areas just isn't congruent with the kind of campaign they should be running and walz is leagues more authentic in his personality.

i definitely think it's more than just letting it fly free. i'm a socialist so any solution i'm looking at is going to involve more than libertarian-style "just do whatever." you definitely need programs and support structures and the like to make sure people don't just fall into the gutters.

my point isn't "don't make laws." my point wrt to drug decriminalization is that removing criminal penalties for drug use has a demonstrated history of moving numbers in positive directions.do they always remain AS good as they were when first initiated? no. but regarding the prior example of portugal specifcally, while drug use and issues did see a bump after a while, positive effects still remained and the numbers are still better than before the legislation was passed. these are nuance issues that go beyond "x stopped working" or a flat declaration about what should or shouldn't be illegal.

frankly i don't know why you interject into the conversations when most of your posts amount to being a flippant prick.
