I tried texting my sister over facebook, I couldn't log into my account and I'm locked out of the feature to use my email.

And yes, as emblem-man said, most groups have mailing lists that they want people to sign up to so they can send out info about upcoming protests and other events.

I'm not going to go into detail in public, but I'll PM you if you really want. I am very skeptical of any or all digital data collection, especially in context to politics. I can assure you I'm not the only one that thinks this way. Getting rid of this element is the single bit of constructive criticism I could offer.

I don't know what those are! I'm a computer "scientist" and glorified toy maker. I mostly lurk places like 261 and CE to keep up with the news.

All I can say is what I witnessed during the 2020 protests was unsettling. Violence perpetrated by the far right to instigate more violence ... random ass cops showing up to start shit and make everyone look bad.

There was one specific instance where it was more or less confirmed that one of thes protests was confirmed to be organized ... or at the very least the domain names were owned by God damned MTG.

So from my perspective, it's less conspiracy and more obfuscated fact.

Yeah, but I'm pretty sure even the original xbox had that feature to an extent.

I mean like, the when they introduced the avatars and started pushing connect and adding ads ... that's when it got kinda blah.

The PlayStation XMB was closer in spirit to the old Blades interface and also had pretty wild customization that doesn't really exist anymore ... just without the 3D avatars.

Xbox really tried, but that era of 360 was pretty cringe.

I don't think Sony really tried at all, games with Mii like features were pretty self-contained and I'm not sure there were many to begin with. I think Home shut down pretty early IIRC.

I never played the originals. I tried the remaster and really disliked it. :(

The first game is a really "had to be there" experience, it was weird and new and looked and sounded incredibly impressive for the time.

A used copy of State of Emergency on PS2.

Probably another decade left, but it won't be recognizable at that time. Like, the format would be completely different and everything redesigned by scratch.

It's for children tbh.

With that in mind, it's alright. Cheap shit when you're lazy and only have a few bucks.

The Pirates level in 2 has some of the best visuals on PS2. Like, certain shots rival Silent Hill 3.

IDK, candy corn is pretty great. Especially those jumbo pumpkin shaped ones. Never got the hate but I can kinda understand thinking they're mid.

Shock Collars are controversial and there are a lot better training methods that are not just add positive punishment anytime the dog does something you don't want them to do. Which are what shock collars are designed for.

They really should only be used as a last resort when doing long distance stuff ... and even then if you don't trust the dog enough at distance to the point of justifying a shock collar, you probably arn't ready for off lead training in the first place.

FreeTube and reVanced recently started having problems with users speculating that theyre accounts were actually being specifically targeted. Sounds like he had the setting way too high and was missusing it in general, which constitutes as animal abuse regardless of how you feel about the devices.

If you activate with your hand on the prongs and feel anything worse than a tickle, or are afraid to do so, you shouldn't be using a shock collar.

In training they actually have extremely niche usecases, they're not really even used anymore. Honestly, there is no point in not banning sale of them to anyone but professionals.

IDK, I've lurked these topics, looked at the websites. There's a very corporate, heavily marketed vibe to everything. Everything is very professional and super polished. YouTubers ask me to join via extremely well edited and well articulated videos.

I'm relatively young person. My baseline comparison for protests was not that.

You dont have to register to show up at a No Kings event. Its not like theres somebody checking everyones phones to make sure they signed up, you just go downtown and join the crowd.

The fact that registration is even a thing is a concern tbh. Someone is using that data for some purpose.
