Under #9, he says it doesn't seem likely that the eagles would be tempted enough by the Ring to steal it after being around it for only the hour or so it would take to fly into Mordor from their starting point. He discusses under #4 and #5 why the eagles weren't in much danger from archers. His biggest point, under the "Discussion" at the end, is that it's at least plausible enough that the eagles could have worked that, when they were all discussing what to do with the Ring at the Council of Elrond, it should have come up why the eagles wouldn't work, just as it came up why giving the ring to Tom Bombadil wouldn't work, etc.

I did see something where someone said that it's not obvious that the eagles would have been spotted right away, because other things in the book suggest that simply entering Mordor with the Ring doesn't let Sauron know where you are. Therefore, according to this person, the fact that the eagles could get to Mount Doom much more quickly than traveling by foot could have outweighed the fact that the eagles would be more visible, so (according to this person) Tolkien really should have made it clearer why using the eagles would be a bad idea.

I guess in any other case when Kirby "kills" an enemy, you can pretend that they just got a little dazed and can't interfere with him anymore. You can pretend that in Mario games too.

According to this, he has a portal or something inside him that sends the creatures somewhere else. It doesn't say it, but I'm guessing the creatures might get a little tired because Kirby absorbed some energy from them to take on their powers or to create that star he spits out. But they aren't really hurt.

Well, the father died at the very last moment of the second episode tonight. Actually, I thought it was going to happen twice right before. When he was at the top of the ladder and Georgie said, "Are you sure you should be up there at your age?", I thought he was going have a heart attack and fall down. Then there was a bit where they were all getting ready to leave the house in the morning, but the father wasn't there, and I thought they were going to find him dead in his bed. But then at the very end, when everyone (except for the father) was all dressed up and someone said, "We're still waiting on Dad," I figured he was already dead. So I guess the next episode is going to be his funeral and probably going to be sad the whole time. We'll see if the episode after that ends the show on a higher note.
