Fun stuff. Definitely has Breaking Bad level writing and some great twists such as Hamlin actually not being an ass and just a front for Chuck. Everything about chuck and his "allergy". Im not sure whats to come but I wish there was more of the criminal stuff.

Id give it a solid 7/10, all episodes, fun stuff but far from peak breaking bad (mind you seasom 1 breakimg bad was far from peak breaking bad and this may have been the better first season).

nah, the reboot series is its own continuity. but it does reference the old movies a few times.

I skipped the 2001 movie and have only watched the first two of the reboot series, I've been meaning to get to the others but I'd have to pay for them >_>

edit: I was slightly wrong with my last point, the ending of Battle leaves it ambiguous whether the timeline was changed and apes and people will be peaceful, or if it was just a self fulfilling prophecy and the racial conflicts are inevitable.

Without having watched the sequels to 1968, I feel like the new ones could build to 1968 pretty well

Taylor and Nova die. Then the Earth gets blown up. (there are some psychic mutants involved in between here). Zila and Cornelius go back in time and die. They have a baby(Caesar) that lives in the past and starts the uprising that leads to the future of the first movie

I watched the entire original series a month or so ago and it was fun enough but definitely declines. being high for the end of the 2nd movie helped.

Solid ass flick. The action was amazing. Chris hemsworth killed it as Dementus. The movie was too long though. The story outside of action was fine. Furiosa was an ok at best protagonist

The sound design might be the best yet. A lot of the movie is vehicles in the wasteland and thats when its at its best.

The last 3 things I watched are this, kingdom of apes and fallout. So Ive had enough apocalypse.

I give it a 7/10, needs to shed 20ish mins

Cesar is a cooler character and the others had a lot more going on and more politics in its story.

This one was more simple and more like an adventure.

Fair enough.

I can.

Literally everybody in television filmed something inspired by Fallout 3 (mutant animals, underground bunkers, irradiated zombies, futuristic retro, ruined cities, etc)

What I'm saying is they had a lot of good material to draw from, and good footing with the audience. Not to mention everyone seems to be doing an adaptation these days, so it has a shell of contemporaries surrounding it and protecting it. Furiosa, Borderlands, The Last of Us, etc

Fair enough, the franchise was ripe for an adaptation. Even after last of us my first thought was fallout but kudos to them for nailing it as much as they did

All 4 are of similar quality so it isn't saying much but Kindgom was leagues ahead in visuals. The villain may have been the best. Noah is essentially a young ceaser anyways. It had thr cute moments the Apes movies are known for. Its also a great starting point

It told an original story within the continuity of the existimg world keeping the same look and feel. Amazon has been killing it with the boys but botched Rings of power. They delivered so hard. This felt closer to an HBO production (a compliment) where they went all out.

Lucy/the ghoul/maximus are the perfect protagonist trio (well maximus is just ok).

It is slightly below the laat of us season 1 but this does get points for having its own unique plot

As far as season 1s go, this is one of the best ones.

Disney plus cant justify 6 episodes at 40 minutes when this is 8 at about an hour each.

Sign me up for season 2 right now

With the new one out I wanted to catch up on the trilogy

I watched rise a while ago, watched dawn last week and war now.

I think this was the weakest of the 3 but still solid. I am thinking between a 7 and an 8. They were ballsy to kill off his son which was a big part in dawn. Also ballsy to never use the same humans. That said the girl is the worst if the humans they have had.

Also of matt reaves movies I have seen, this is the weakest (batman, apes 2 and 3).

Lets see how kingdom does and I may even watch the 1960s original. All in all one solid as franchise. Better than the typical hollywood blockbuster franchises. Give me apes over blue avatar people any day

Watched Rise a few years back and really liked it, not sure why I didnt watch the others.

With the new one coming out I got motivated to watch this and damn this is even better

I went in blind and I was initially slightly disappointed to see it was years after humanity fell and not during the time it was falling. Ceaser is more likable in this and its cute seeing him as a dad. Can totally see why Koba would hate humans. There wasnt anything overly complex about it but it was effective.

Slight negative and not to be that guy but sometimes the cgi was underwhelming

Ive only watched 2 matt reaves films (this and the batman) and I really dug both so Im really digging his work. Will watch war and kingdom soon

Im not sure wether I land at an 8 or 9 out of 10, leaning 9 but solid ass movie. Better than rise which i liked too

most fox movies are complete, irredeemable garbage

when the previews pitched The Wolverine as him wanting to get rid of his powers, I skipped it without hesitation

the actual movie wasn't like that, but it also wasn't especially any good either

I think calling it mid is giving it way too much credit. barely qualifies as watchable

which does make it better than most fox fluff, but still

Fox stuff is so hit or miss but when it hits, it hits hard

It should have been R like Logan.

It absolutely should have been a Yakuza ultraviolent Japanese film akin to Infernal Affairs mixed with Ichii the Killer. Instead what we got was a very tame and mild PG13 film that wasn't terrible, but okay.

Yeah wolverine power set does require an r rating. Deadpool and wolverine should deliver

KitKats posted...
That film is a watered down cash grab.

Wolverine deserves better, and any decent work that respects the source material needs to be hard-R mature content. The man has fucking knives on his hands for weapons and is a berserker with healing ability. You cant showcase that kind of raw power and healing with kiddo gloves.
