I think that every arc before it was better. I'd watch more but I don't think the series will ever finish in my lifetime.

I think there's a lot of criticism that is valid, but in some cases I feel like people's memory of JRPGs doesn't really line up with the genre. For example: complaints around weapons and armor being "just stats bonuses." This is true, but in nearly every classic JRPG that's exactly what it always was. You reach the latest town and you go to the weapon/armor shop and you buy everything because it's newer than what you have and thus better. MAYBE some secret endgame weapons had special effects, but in general that's how it always was. So when people say "the weapons are just stat upgrades" in regard to 16 not being a "real" JRPG I'm just left wondering how when that's exactly how nearly every other JRPG does it.

I prefer JRPGs where you don't need a fucking PhD to understand 15 modifiers and break points to get stronger.

I bought it a few years ago and tried to play it but...fuck open world.

Mass Effect doesn't work as an open world game.

The gunplay/skills were fine and fun...but running around a barren map with random mountains and hills in the way to purposefully force you to go the long way around all while staring at barren wastelands.

I'm good on that.

I'm 6 episodes in and I've completely forgotten why there's even a Gundam school in the first place lol. They must have mentioned it but so far 99% of the show is duels and shadowy corporate politics

Other than that it's pretty cool. Haven't really watched Gundam since the old Toonami days >_>

The school is there to funnnnel kids into one of the corporations of the "group" while allowing them to make connections.

The Gundam fights are a side thing but super popular (think college football)

No markup from in store & only extra I pay is the tip which I have no problem paying a ~8-10 dollar tip if it means avoiding the grocery store.

Less impulse purchasing that way.

https://www.brookings.edu/articles/sports-jobs-taxes-are-new-stadiums-worth-the-cost/

Here is an article talking about the economic impact of major sports franchises in cities weighed against the public funds that go into building facilities. A quick summary of the conclusions:
* New sports facilities generally have an extremely small effect on overall economic activity and employment
* No recent facility has been self-financing in terms of the effect on tax revenue.
* They do little to attract tourists or new industry.
* Most spending inside a stadium is a substitute for other local spending (such as movies and restaurants).
* Most jobs created by sports stadiums are part-time and/or low wage jobs. Star players making high salaries usually don't live in the city where they play so not much of what they earn goes back into the local economy.
* Major sports leagues have monopoly power and use it to keep the number of franchises below the number of cities that could support a team, which enables owners to use the threat of moving a team to demand public subsidies.

I was going to post this.

I'm an Illinois resident where 2 of our teams are looking for new stadiums.

Bears - have asked for help with infrastructure which I feel is the job of the government to help with that.

White Sox - Got told absolutely not by the governor. Super scummy owner, will try again.

Screw Billionaires wanting tax dollars.

This is sort of misleading

I looked into this and it seems like they now have a couple self checkout lanes reserved for Walmart+ subscribers, which is basically Walmart's version of Amazon Prime.

I don't subscribe bc I don't shop at Walmart, but I'm pretty sure it comes with a paramount+ subscription and free shipping so it's not like a terrible deal or anything

still dumb, definitely does feel like them taking something away so they can sell it back to you

With WM+ you also get free same day delivery from your local Walmart & you can scan as you go and pay from your phone completely skipping the checkout line.

Also let me debunk some common myths, self checkouts didn't cost anyone their job, those jobs were moved to online grocery which makes up 40-60% of most stores total sales, with that number going up each year.

Second is that stores would hire more cashiers if they could. The job pool just sucks at that lowest level.

Most store managers would gladly pay an extra 3-4 people to stand around/tidy up the front end/help watch for shrink where some of the highest margin/easily steal able merchandise is, if it meant not having to hear the same complaint 10000 times each day.

Yeah, this reminds me of the baseball card craze in the 90s. Maybe there are people willing to pay 4k for an unopened PS4 game in a plastic case today. but in 15 years? I highly doubt it.

There's totally a difference.

For sports cards which are made of flimsy cardboard and often contain autographs/worn fabric, it does make sense to seal it in plastic to protect against time.

There's also variances due to how things are made that can actually be proven and measured for a grade towards a "perfect card"

Then the company's that grade cards are trusted 3rd party witness/verification companies in the memorabilia market.

Sealing a video game makes 0 sense bc then you can't even play it. Losing its original function.

How is animated incest not permitted but it is as part of a fictional narrative? Animation is inherently fictional.
It's banning animation of incest where the whole point of the animation/drawing is incest (hentai/commission people)

You can still have a patreon for a comic series and have a storyline with incest and show it...so long as the incest isn't the main point of focus.

It's saying you can't make incest drawings/ect of real people/others work and have that be the whole point. (I.E taking commissions of Anna/Elsa)

You can have it as a plot point in a larger narrative like GoT.

Bc there's a certain population group we used to ignore, however the internet gave them a bullhorn and here we are.

Self checkouts are faster which is why I like them.

They have taken exactly 0 jobs. Nearly every major grocery chain is actually employing more people than before due to the rise of Online Grocery shopping, someone has to pick/organize/package all of those orders.

Around here ~40+% of Walmart sales are through online shoppers.

Mudvayne is still one of my favorite bands and I will still throw L.D. 50 or The End of all things to come and just get it as loud as I can.

Static X was another big favorite of mine.

I'm glad the Rap/Rock thing has came back in style with bands like Falling in Reverse. Hell even Papa Roach is making new music that's pretty good. So if you're looking for new music in the same style, I believe the genre it's in now is just "Hard Rock" and Nu-Metal only refers to bands that were part of that initial wave in the early 00s.

This one might actually have some truth to it. When Joker was announced it was still a fairly recent playstation exclusive and judging the fact that P5 makes up like half the sales of the franchise, I'd say it most likely helped with Switch sales

I am pretty sure it raised Fire Emblem's visbility as well

Doubtful.

I'd say P5R/P4G/P3P and now P3R all going on gamepass/Xbox is what helped them.

I had no interest in any of them or even who Joker was in smash.

Throw them on gamepass and I'm now hooked.

The creators of the constitution really fucked up in a some ways. They didn't cover all their loop holes. Didn't expect a lot of the shit that happens today I guess

The constitution was written in a time where it took an entire day to go ~40 miles and news took weeks to be spread amongst people.

That's not the world we live in today. There's also the fact that Congress capped its membership back in the 40s (Gee wonder why that was...)

We threw out the Articles of Confederation because they didn't work. It's about time to throw the constitution out and rewrite it. Keep the good and throw out the rest while adapting it for the world we live in. There's a reason it was to be a living document and not some sort of scripture.
