been a while since i posted, but i got a bond and was able to get my fire cape and finish dragon slayer 2, firecape took me two tries, first time didn't make it to Jad, second time made it to Jad and won on my first encounter, speedrunning worlds were great practice

my bond runs out today, i made progress on Dragon Slayer 2 to where i killed Vorkath but i suck at this game so i died 6 times until i sold my ghrazi rapier and pegasian boots just to buy a dragon hunter lance just to get over it lol

after that i killed him in one try but i had only 1 food remaining so it wasn't like i cruised through it, i suck haha

after the fight i got the stuff i needed then sold the lance back to get my rapier/pegasian boots back, EDIT: i wanted to melee Vorkath to death btw, yeah i prob would have had an easier time ranging him but meh i like melee the most so i wanted to kill him that way

i know for damn sure im gonna need a dragon hunter crossbow to finish this quest and even then i'll still struggle woooooof im bad

Beat While Guthix Sleeps. That just means Desert Treasure II is left for me to beat and I'll have the Quest Cape. 3 or 4 bosses (depends if you consider the assassins a boss fight, I do). Hardest fight was the Balance Elemental. No deaths (no deaths period in the quest either), but had to teleport out 3-4 times IIRC. It required a lot of Super Restores. Biggest problem was the last phase of the fight where it switches combat styles and gives you a single tick (0.6 s) to change your prayer or you will eat an attack. If it manages to hit you it destroys your stats and takes a ton of your prayer away.

Also, some spoilers for the quest and general Runescape Lore, but...

Lucien is level 1482. Only Hard Mode Verzik Vitur has a higher level than that. The Staff of Armadyl must have increased his level from 14 (lol) from the Temple of Ikov quest all the way to 1482. No wonder he was able to kill 6 of the 8 heroes with almost no effort. Thankfully he bails with the Stone of Jas instead of fighting you and leaves you to fight 2 Tormented Demons. Also, it is great that the Stone of Jas gave you 255 in all your combat skills and all...but even with that, the Demons were definitely threatening still. Basically are Demonic Guerrillas from MM2 but stronger (but switch prayers less). 255 Stats + NPCs helping you meant I wasn't in any real danger of dying though. Just have to dodge the special attacks.

Also, this is a badass boost from the Adventure to Lucien.

Great quest at any rate! Only annoying thing is I will have to get a lot more Ancient Shards if I want an Emberlight Sword. Should come naturally with Slayer training I guess... Also can give Skotizo a try for guaranteed shard drops, although that requires Dark Totems.

uh acktshually TC the earth is 6000 years old and we are the only living things in the universe, oh and the universe is not as big as those hokey pokey space cosmetologists like to parrot at us, our great Gawd has capped the universe's limit cuz why would we lowly humans need all that much space anyways?

someday ill hunt or farm or whatever when there's a quest i gotta do, i aim to have all required levels for all quests in the game, not saying that i'm gonna try to do all the quests but it'll be nice to have the levels for them

right now im gonna focus on getting that 85 mining i never got as a teen hehe

Nice stats otherwise >_> Magic will come if you high alch shit constantly. I got it from enchanting 100s of diamond bracelets and high alching them. Made a small profit too

thanks lol, i'll keep those hunter/farming stats low until i need to level them up for a quest haha

i do have the GP to get my magic to level 75 via burst spells which is way more fun/much faster than high alching stuff but considering that i just want to chill for the last 3 days, i can wait on it

I did the Fight Caves and beat TzTok-Jad!

By doing so, I got myself a Fire Cape! It looks amazing!

I had to fight him four times until I beat him. Never died to any of the 62 waves before Jad, who you fight on Wave 63 of the Fight Caves. First 2 times I died due to inexperience with prayer switching and nerves. Then I found out you can actually go to a Speedrunning World, do the Beneath Cursed Sand Quest, teleport to the Fight Caves, present your Fire Cape to the guy to let you into the inner city, and get to practice on the harder version of Jad.

If you are interested in practicing (the harder) Jad to not have to run through 62 waves only to die to Jad unceremoniously on Wave 63 in the Fight Caves, here is the method better explained.

After I beat JalTok-Jad (the harder Jad) 3 times in a row, I went through the Fight Caves again, started to fight Jad...and blew it within the first 3 attacks. Somehow I mistook Ranged for Magic (twice in a row) due to nerves and died again.

Wasn't happy about that, but I got a good night's sleep, practiced JalTok-Jad (the harder Jad) again until I could beat him repeatedly, and I tried again for the 4th time.

Got through 61 waves, logged into a speedrunning world, practiced JalTok-Jad (the harder Jad) again, logged back in, completed Wave 62, and started Wave 63 with Jad in a safe spot. I filled my Toxic Blowpipe with Dragon Darts as I used Amethyst Darts for most of the cave. Brewed up, drank Super Restores, and drank a Ranging potion to boot. Then turned on Protect from Ranging, Tough Skin, and Eagle Eye and attacked him.

I made no mistakes and prayer flicked correctly. I got above him (north of him) so I could easily attack the healers when they showed up and drag them back to the safe spot south of him to kill them. They showed up, I attacked 3 of them (1 was stuck in the safe spot), and I dragged them back with me to the safe spot where I killed all 4 of them. Jad had barely been healed during all of this, and I recognized that the Toxic Blowpipe had successfully envenomed Jad! Being a boss, I didn't think he was susceptible, but he most definitely is. I waited a little bit for some free damage to kick in, and then healed up and turned back on my prayers and went in for the kill...

I made no mistakes and beat him! YES!

Feels great to finally beat Jad. Never had an account with high enough ranging level to try back in the old Runescape days (back in the 2000's). Glad to finally beat him!

I couldn't care less. He'd have a record almost nobody except himself cares about anymore, and it wouldn't make him any less an underhanded jerk-off in anyone's mind but his own. Plus, every time it would get brought up, folks would be like "yeah, I guess... unless he actually cheated again." Honestly, I think the people that did care would forever be waiting to hear how his new cheat got exposed, so his status would never really matter, even in fanatic circles.

yeah this is all true, my reaction would be simply amusement because he went through all that trouble to cheat and get himself in this stupid mess just for it to all be an even bigger waste once he hypothetically achieves the world record lol

I'm giving up on my Iron Dragon slayer task. I'm level 69 Magic yet it took me 150 Blood Runes and an eternity just to kill 4 of those guys. Fuck that

So I canceled my 49 Iron Dragon task from Konar and got assigned 160 Blue Dragons instead >_>

What the fuck is with this bitch and dragons!? Surely this'll be more manageable...right? I may go back to the fairy slayer master if this keeps up. These tasks are kinda over my head a bit.

hey at least you have the option of killing the baby versions, those still count hehe

also I think I recall saying using dragon scimitar on dragons slayer tasks is okay but I take that back, better to use a dragon sword because dragons have less defense against stab weapons plus dragon swords are just as fast as dragon scimitars anyways, i'd take the small sacrifice of power to hit more frequently tbh

also Konar is a rough slayer master for sure, yeah the extra slayer points+brimstone keys are nice but I only go to her when i'm 1 task away from winning big bonus slayer points haha

Also...I beat the Song of the Elves quest! The bosses were pretty tough, particularly the Fragment of Seren, but I beat her on the first try with my trusty Trident of the Swamp. First time I've ever used Saradomin Brews by the way, and the boss took quite a few of them.

this quest wasn't bad, i spent all the experience rewards on agility so wooo 120k experience in agility woooooooo

i'm kind of putting some focus on Dragon Slayer 2 because one of the requirements to start it is having 200 quest points and i have 182 so might as well lol

plus you get ferocious gloves which have better offense than barrows gloves but worse defense

not in a hurry to tackle Dragon Slayer 2 though, i'll chip away at it slowly
