Yeah I wouldn't necessarily say overwhelmingly for me but that's pretty much where I'm at too. I do prefer to have my gear match but if I can get better stats then I'm prioritizing that

I completely oppose the death penalty for the reasons outlined in the thread,,but I want to emphasize that it isnt awful just because innocent people are executed. It is also unconscionable because it is unfairly applied even to the guilty.

If you are a different race than white or too poor to afford good representation, you are orders of magnitude more likely to get a death sentence than a white person with money. Simple as that, and backed by years of data.

Even if you think some people deserve to die for their crimes, we are simply not wise enough to administer it fairly. We never will be.

I actually wrote a paper about sentencing disparities in regards to the death penalty. One of the interesting things I found when researching it is that it also matters who the victims are. I don't remember the stats off the top of my head but basically if you kill a white woman you're more likely to get the death penalty than if you killed a black woman and if you're a black man accused of killing a white woman you're much much more likely to get the death penalty

I had a lot of fun playing it but yeah should've been longer and also I feel like they didn't quite capture the essence of what made the original so good quite as well as they did in the other remakes.

Still really enjoyed it and thought it was great but it's not a $70 game in my opinion.

I grew up on the OG's and they'll always have a special place in my heart but the controls make them unplayable for me so I love that they're doing a modern remake.

I actually do make an effort to not use the handicap stall when possible because one time I did use it and there was a guy waiting for me that clearly needed the stall and I felt fucking terrible. For the record, I pretty much agree and will be voting for Biden over trump, and I think that's the correct move to make in November but I don't blame people for threatening to withhold their vote over this. He's been a catastrophic failure on this issue.

And I don't think it's helpful to suggest that because people don't wanna vote for Biden that they want trump to win. I get why you're saying it, I just don't think it's helpful.

I love Anthony Jeselnik and he's the comedian I go to when people say YOU CAN'T DO COMEDY THESE DAYS. He jokes about heinous things and also transgendered people but he doesn't do it in a malicious way. And he doesn't linger like you see someone like Chappelle does. He does his joke and moves on and stops beating on it. Probably moves on to joking about kids with cancer or something.

Anyway I'm moving through the last season of Sunny and just saw Frank vs Russia. Got me good in the end. "KILL THE WI-FI! KILL THE WI-FI!"

I also kind of disagree on it getting eh after season 10. I feel like the show has gotten funnier throughout. Though yeah there are some clunkers like The Gang Buys a Roller Rink

I do think there's a lot of really good episodes in the later seasons, the Frank vs Russia episode, Times Up, and Hero or Hate Crime are amongst some of my favorites for the whole series. It's hard to explain but it feels like as they go on it kinda feels less genuine if that makes sense? Like it's still funny and I still like it but it feels more like someone doing a really good job at trying to be sunny rather than actually being sunny like the other seasons. But I fully acknowledge that that's probably more of a preference thing on my part and I wouldn't disparage anyone for preferring any seasons over the others

My oldest sister has non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma (and leukemia), and I know the pain you're going through. My sympathies.

I appreciate that, thankfully I'm on the other side of it now, next year will be 10 years since my last treatment but yeah it's been a tough road. Sorry for your sister though, I hope she doesn't have the complications I had and that she sees the other side of this soon. Hope you're doing ok too man, they did a good job of being supportive for me but I know the whole ordeal was very hard for them so I'm sure it's not been an easy process for you either.

Well I'm 37 and I've been an atheist since like my early twenties and while I was in the army I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma, I'll spare the details but there were a lot of complications and the process nearly killed me several times. I'm fine now but it's thanks to the awesome doctors I had and support from my family, and I never asked for any gods help because I don't believe in one so that'd be pretty silly wouldn't it?

I think maybe I've been modded twice but one was overturned, something on the pwb where I made kind of a joke topic and everyone made a bunch of other topics with kind of the same joke and I got modded for spamming but then I was explained that mine was the first and I didn't do any of the subsequent ones and they overturned it.

The other was also on the pwb where I made a topic about Jeff Hardy I think and because he wasn't currently in the WWE it was labeled off topic but both those were easily over 10 years ago (holy shit). Never lost karma or anything though and there's no mods listed on my account.

But like others I don't really post that often and it's fairly easy to stay within the rules so I guess I'm good at it?

Definitely stick with it TC, the show picks up a lot of steam when DeVito joins and then they really find their groove from like season 4-10ish. Then for me it kinda drops but I still love it.

I do get what you're saying though, it's a little surprising and cringey to hear those slurs being used even with the caveat that we know these are horrible people. But the show really proves you can joke about pretty much anything when you do it right

That said, I really only play games on PC that are better with keyboard mouse like most RTS and FPS games but if I were playing like Red Dead or God of War I'd play on the console with a controller

Definitely focus on the characters and their wishes but I do think multiplayer needs to be a major feature. I didn't really play online so I don't know how the factions worked but I'm imagining a more traditional online multiplayer experience, basically imagine like Halo 3 but Twisted Metal instead

I mean, yeah that tracks.

Though I did have a blast playing 3 with one of my best friends and the soundtrack was killer so I still hold it in high regard

Also I really wish they'd do a faithful revival of the series, I think there's a ton of potential with modern consoles

Not to yuk anyone's yum but that show just did nothing for me, it always felt like it was very cringe and never felt like it was particularly clever or funny. But hey what the hell do I know?
