I was taught in customer service training to try and be helpful even if it meant sending business elsewhere. It depends. I think its something like 70% of sale objections are done by the sales person themselves. The person at the store could have told TC something like "I will have this in the store for you in 2 weeks, will that work?" And then pause and let the TC answer.
