As for brands for like mobos id say msi is probably on top now. ASRock has also grown to be more respected. Asus has been having a lot of issues recently and id stay away from them for a while.

For gpus I tend to lean to gigabyte. The 4070 super should be the bare min you get if you want to go at 1440 now. There are better cards but you pay a huge premium for them.

For your processor I've been on team red (and) for like 25 years. So I don't know w lot about Intel chips. If you go amd make sure you get the gen5 chips and boards that support ddr5. As older ones have no upgrade paths now.

For ram 32 is the standard now for gaming setups. Team group has been the go to for best value but not sure if that's true anymore as theyve gotten more notoriety.

For Bioshock Infinite's backlash.

I'm a big fan of the game (I did Elizabeth's writeup for the character battle). And i think a big factor was the DLC which I know a lot of people didn't really like. But the base game is still very highly regarded, a problem is that even when it was new the shooting mechanics seemed a little dated and FPS mechanics are a genre that tends to update relatively quickly (fighting games are another). That said I don't really think it belongs here.

That being said I will have 007 on my list and I think most people agree it's less the game and more that it's on the N64 (due to the controls) which hurts it the most. I think the the game was like a PC title it would be nowhere near this list. Perfect Dark is another game in the same vein, but 007 was by far the more popular title.

Now, for Overwatch. I don't know. I'm sure that Overwatch 2 (which is just overwatch 1 with like some changes... so let's count this as the same game okay) is mechnically a good game. But it seems to just be ruined by non gameplay factors, and I think that does count.

Also for BG1/2
I've played a fair share of isometric games and it's pretty insane how much better BG3 is in like playability compared to even something like Divinity Original Sin 2. I'd argue that going from BG3 backwards makes the originals almost unplayable. Not even different like maybe going back from modern REs to like super Tank control originals.

I don't know. I think some of the games being tossed around were not even super well received when they were new.
