I'm signing up to discord. I really didn't want to because I prefer the forum style over chats (and prefer gamefaqs in general), but we have no choice at this point.

I've had a discord since 2016, granted I started using it more around 2019.

Does it though? These things are so much more than a simple money crime. So many lives are destroyed by this level of theft. Fraud on that scale ruins so many more lives than a guy who murders a few people. For example, how many elderly folks have had their retirement accounts plundered by this sort of fraud? Retirement accounts that they spent their lives building. The money they were counting on to survive their end game. It's the ordinary folks that suffer in the end. Only an evil person would do this. That deserves a death sentence.

Yeah, going for the death penalty feels a bit too extreme for me, I think having it taken away and getting fined to shit would probably be more appropriate.

I find anxiety better to cope with, I can still enjoy things even if I have random panic attacks at least.

On the other hand, the numbness of depression was just a terrible experience for me, being unable to feel my emotions is more frightening to me than them just running wild. That and whilst anxiety has made me feel like I'm gonna die, depression makes me fixate on it more and combined with dissociation it's a whole other monster. At least if I'm just anxious, I feel like me and not some doll on a stage waiting for the curtain to lift again.

It got me into Pokemon, which is good, it's just kinda made irrelevant by Platinum. Always go for Platinum over DP, imo

I don't have much hope because I've been stuck in Unemployment Hell longer than I've ever been employed thanks to my last job being seasonal and not wanting me back XD I was frequently ill last year and I don't think they wanted to risk it though I'm generally healthier now.

I don't really feel like DP were necessarily "jank" compared to Platinum, they play/feel quite similar the vast majority of the time, but Plat handles one particular scene in the climax of the story in a different way from DP, and that difference alone makes it worth playing IMO.

Plat also does have more in the way of postgame content (much like Emerald) that you'll want to play that one instead if that sort of thing interests you. If you're just the sort to stop playing once you beat the league though, then that won't matter.

Platinum makes the early game smoother, at least.

You get your starter quicker, fight your rival earlier, the gym order is changed up so there's less BS (aka not waiting for Fantina to come back from whatever the fuck she was doing so you could fight her...), etc

It also fixes the Pokemon availability, you can actually use a lot of the gen 4 cross-evos during Platinum's campaign whilst stuff like Gallade, Magmortar/Electivire, Leafeon, Togekiss and the like were locked off to postgame in Diamond and Pearl.
The biggest benefit of this change? The Fire type Elite Four member actually has a proper team now. Lest we forget the playboy bunny, the giant steel snake and the fucking blimp

We have a cost of living crisis here so UC has also provided households with occasional extra payments on top of that (as long as they're eligible) so people can afford electric/gas.

The gen 4 games are long out of print, and there's fakes everywhere. Don't risk getting conned, go find Platinum elsewhere.

If you got a hacked switch, you can turn Brilliant Disappointment into Luminescent Platinum, if that's an option you're into.
