Civilization, yes. The world? No. I firmly believe that if humanity doesn't get its collective shit in order before it crosses certain global warming thresholds the planet will cull so much of the species in such a short period of time that it will avert the worst. The data points to that being the most likely outcome as well.

Civilization as it is structured right now cannot sustain itself forever. It is based on infinite growth on a planet with finite resources, and consumption of those finite resources will kill a massive swath of the species which in turn will cause an immediate and severe decline. At that time the whole house of cards falls over.

When that day comes, and a lot of figures both climate-wise and resource wise put it at around 2040, civilization will either adapt/change or end. Which is essentially the end of the world as we know it.

But for the world in general no, I believe we'll hit a point where our emissions cap and then decline rapidly one way or the other before the truly apocalyptic things are locked in.

TBH once things get further along I suspect we're going to see a massive counter-movement to, well, most internet media.

We're rapidly approaching a point in time where the only verifiably real things are the people we meet and interact with IRL, and where the only verfiably true information we can get is from offline sources such as books that predate modern AI entirely (because once things kick off even fact-checked books will be liable to be AI "contaminated" and thus won't be fully trusted).

The US is screwed, I suspect the US will descend into a post-truth reality where the general population is so used to consuming slop that the AI produced media will be welcomed and become standard.

But for the rest of the world? I look at how younger generations are already starting to go retro for their media because of how mediocre the offerings are in modern media, and how prevalent counter-culture is overall with them, and I suspect fast forward ten years we're going to see a counter-culture against the Internet unlike anything we've seen before.

The irony is we millennials grew up with the Internet, and we grew up with the mindset that everything online is suspect as a lie and that everyone online is just a bot. That got worn away by the time baby boomers started posting online rampantly. I suspect we're going back to the "nothing online is real, the people you interact with aren't real and the information isn't real" days, only this time it won't be partially a meme but a fact.

Honestly lets be real here, both are certain death within a day.

People seem to still somehow underestimate the chain reactions we're setting off in the climate. Yes, the Earth will possibly recover. In a few million years after our extinction.

3000 years from now is juuust enough time to see Earth's new equilibrium. Which can include, among other things hothouse Earth. It might also see Earth lose so much oxygen you'd die of asphyxiation within minutes.

Make no mistake we're setting off The Great Dying 2.0 and right now the only reason we might fail to set it off is because we have a very real possibility of wiping our civilization out before we lock it in.

If I have to pick which I'd prefer I suppose the future provides a quicker cleaner death and satisfies the morbid curiosity of confirmation of how much we fucked the planet up.

After sitting in my barracks for months after a surprise recruitment the absolutely adorable Suzuran is E2. Now to begin grinding for her module. Once she's complete I'll have a strong 6* for every class.

Does the fragility she inflicts with her Y module stack with the fragile she inflicts with her skill 3 or just add 2%?

Also took my first foray into IS5 with the Surtr story (needed the mats for Suzuran). First time going all the way through, holy crap some of those stages on floors 4 and 5 are spooky, gave me a bit of a workout despite the fact I was rocking the trio of Walter Exu2 and Laptop.

Nah, I live in a small city and usually only travel when there's barely any people around anyway. Masks themselves are primarily for someone to avoid spreading the virus rather than stopping you catching it so I've long since lost seeing the point. Stomping covid out would've been preferable but the collective chose to "let it rip" and the rest just have to deal with that fact at this point (limit exposure points, keep up to date with vaccinations if you're at risk, ect ect ect).

Trump has flagged his plan very clearly. He will give some reason for why America cannot hold an election at this time (whether it's because he started shit in South America or whatever. He could just say it's because he shat his pants that morning and it'd work fine), the Red States will refuse to hold a ballot while the Blue States will hold a ballot, and then the entire election will simply be ruled invalid (because it legally will be if a third of the states don't even hold a ballot).

The plan is really that simple. Don't hold a proper election and then refuse to leave when the term ends. It's that simple. What's going to stop it? Right now: nothing.

So much of the overreach of the regime is just them doing whatever they want and nobody actually enforcing the law. It would be strange for the election getting stolen to go any other way.

Nah those two's powers are far too much to handle for a normal person. I've avoided Twitch for years and years because of the fakeness the higher levels give off and then the rumours surrounding it. Iron Man is the reason the genre continued into what it became. It was arguably the best first step that could have been taken. A strong well made action flick with a charismatic character people wanted to see more of.

Had Iron Man flopped (and not been good enough to maintain interest) there would have been no Avengers, no MCU, and therefore no attempts to ape the MCU by Warner Brothers.

Meanwhile the DCU's first two entries are, lets be real for a moment here, lacklustre at best. Superman did nothing to set the world on fire (sub-$700m is basically close to a flop, the opposite of starting strong) and Peacemaker... Unless you already care about the DCU odds are, like me, you know nothing about it nor care about it.

Iron Man provided the most fertile soil you could ever want to grow a cinematic universe and brand from. Superman 2025? Not so much. Just another flick to pass the time with and from what I can gather that's largely all its viewed as. And as Superman is one of the A listers (the other being Batman obviously) I'd say the DCU isn't long for this world as a brand.

Factitious dooming aside I'd say the takeaway is that the fact it's not actually clear why this happens says the whole thing is on a highway to nothing. If the AI spasms out over clear instructions because of unknown factors you can't rely on it for anything meaningful.

If sanctions actually stopped Russia this war would've been over within a year. We all know Russia only responds to meeting steel when they thrust their proverbial bayonets and sanctions, while unpleasant, are hardly steel.

TBH I still find the Trump-Putin situation a little hard to read.

There's the obvious suspected and probably somewhat true allegations Trump has connections to the Kremlin and may or may not be some kind of plant (or at least one of the many many many pies the Kremlin has had their fingers in for decades in the hopes one of those pies would go on to do something).

But despite that Trump's actions flipflop from sycophantically sucking up to Putin to the actions most reminiscent of a child throwing a tantrum because their idol is completely ignoring them.

While Putin presumably has an in with Trump I still can't really decide whether I think he's an actual plant or if he just idolizes him and is prone to getting bigly mad when ignored and may, still, potentially turn on Putin.

That said we've seen this song and dance before and I'm officially at the point where I won't believe Trump's actually going to do anything until it's done. To his (once only) credit he can sometimes be a "man of action", as evidenced with the Iranian bombings earlier this year (and he has, seemingly, actually put the boot into Netanyahu to play ball at times), so it's not off the table that he may eventually do something. But until it happens it's just pantomime theater at this point.

Because that's the only way to actually enforce an internet age limit.

I'd know, because that's exactly what's happening in the UK and Australia with their social media age restrictions. The only way to restrict the internet based on age is to verify the age of everyone on every single website. And the only way governments will ever bother to do that is to leave it up to the corporations to enforce.

These measures are also only a short step away from a police state where absolutely every single thing you say can be fed into an AI, tied directly to your real-world identity, and then incur direct punishment from the government when the AI flags something (we're already extremely close to that timeline as it is.)

The smarter and better way of handling this is to financially punish companies that do nothing when they are made aware of things like this. And by punish I don't mean slaps on the wrist that simply get handwaved as the cost of doing business. I mean fines that start at the "damn our yearly profits are harshly affected" level and can reach as far as "holy shit we're actually bankrupt and have to close down" level. Where the threat of not doing these measures and enforcing the law is so unprofitable that the costs of doing business become making the platforms safe.

Age verification is the worst of all worlds. It doesn't protect kids and simply compromises the safety of everyone involved while giving corporations even more profit (because trust me they'd all love for the excuse to collect that sensitive data and store it illegally for their databanks.)

That sentiment right there is the sort of mindset that led to the far right winning the culture war, and not just winning it but using it to successfully take over the US government and lead a fascist takeover.

Making enemies of your cause, well, makes enemies. It's insanely short-sighted and self-destructive to run around being obnoxious and then handing the win by default to your enemies because your strategy sucked and failed to take into account the bigger picture (and how the human mind works).

Let's put it this way. It's all information control at the end of the day, and big corporations and fossil fuel hold all the cards when it comes to information. They control the mainstream media, they control the government, odds are they control the law enforcement to certain degrees as well.

So what do you do when you glue yourself to the road in the middle of ambulance routes to hospitals killing some people by proxy? You give those extremely powerful entities (entities that have damn near already won as it is) even more of a win and even more of an ability to control the narrative than before.

These movements NEED to start understanding how they look in the larger picture. They will never score wins if they don't. (That's assuming they're not actually just funded by fossil fuel corporations to destroy the causes from within to begin with, given how they behave I'd put even odds they all are to certain degrees corrupted from within).

And to be clear I say all of the above as someone who genuinely believes humanity will be extinct by 2100 and that civilization will be over by 2060 at the latest. I walk around each day fully believing that climate change will kill me and damn near every single person I see by 2045.

So none of this is coming from a position of not agreeing with the cause on climate protests. But a lot of them don't know how to effectively protest, and frankly that goes for a lot of the culture war movements the last decade and a half as well.

TBH not even the most disturbing AI video he's retweeted. That'd be the one which was a AI music video portraying Russel Vought as the grim reaper with him and Vance on the instruments while the song goes on about how the reaper is coming to kill everyone (and particularly democrat politicians).

This is still pretty bloody bad though. Not just the fact it's depicting him defecating on American citizens (via bombing them, an allegory for what he actually wants to do), not just because it's specifically protesters, not just because it's timed for the day mass peaceful protests are ongoing (meaning the POTUS has declared, publicly, he'd like to kill every single one of them indiscriminately), but because it depicts the POTUS with a crown, depicts him as a King.

Pointedly a position the POTUS should never be likened to.

You need real cheese for starters, preferably a bunch of cheddar and some parmigiana for bite. Then proper cream or milk if you're trying to lower the fat count a smidge.

I tried kraft once and unironically sicked it up within a minute. Shit was disgusting and not even remotely like real cheese. I refuse to believe people actually eat that and think it's good. All the other mac&cheese ready made stuff required so much actual cheese and milk to turn into the thing I just said "fuck it" and made the dish fully.

It must've been fate that they reran my favourite antagonist's new alt that I missed by mere months with the release of one of my old favourites getting a new alt as well.

Speaking of Exusiai and farming, got lots of use out of her on the way to pull 300. Gosh dang is she strong, at times I felt like she was way stronger than Wis'adel was. Apples vs oranges since one focusses on a single target while the other is all about that AoE explosions but man. Exu can practically lanehold she mows things down so fast. She practically replaced Thorns for a lot of the stages.

TLDR of what he brought up (with graphs and the whole shebang) was that Trumps tariffs are basically having absolutely zero effect on China because the trade they're doing internationally outside of US markets is more than offsetting the impact of Americans buying less Chinese exports.

So all Trump's doing with these tariffs is repeatedly beating the US economy in the face with a brick. For literally no reason nor gain. It's not even hurting China. Their overall revenue was apparently up a little despite the tariffs.

That's some next level incompetence from Trump right there. Even ChatGPT could probably give them a better strategy than this crap.

Welp I'm up after sleeping for another 4 and a half hours and went in for another 70 pulls (that's my whole stash, 251 pulls total). Another 6*. You already know which one.

Lemuen really saw my coinflips and decided they needed to be given the Oren treatment. lol. 6 rateups and 5 of them were Lemuen.

TBH though in a weird way it kind of works out. If I'd pulled Exusiai early on I genuinely might've just called my pulls then and there and gone for Tragodia. But I like W as a character, so in a weird way Lemuen blocking me for so long meant going for Wis'adel became the optimal play for bang-to-buck ratio.

And it's not like I don't like Lemuen, I like her a lot after playing the side stories she's in. Just... Not pot6 levels. lol.

Hmm, how do I get the free 10-pull? I only see an option to Headhunt x10 for 6,000 Red symbols and the game started me with 3,920. I claimed everything in the mail I think, not seeing anything else I can click.

At the top left of the main menu screen there should be three tabs (four or five because your account is new and has some unique daily login bonuses to claim for the next week or so), one of them should be light-blue and is the "celebration login event" The free 10-pull is day 1's login reward.

Sounds like you might've closed out of the login sequence. It happens (got me a few times in the past) and the game doesn't default to going through all the login screens if you close out of one of them unlike other gachas, instead it leaves them in a easily-missable (visually small and in the top left corner) set of tabs for you to redeem later.

Woke up with two hours sleep again, pulled Lemuen in the first 10-pull as well. Getting flashbacks to Yu's banner where all these same conditions were met and 100 rolls bagged two Blazes and one Stainless...

At least I actually like Lemuen and she's good (I think).

Not sure what to do now. I can probably spark Wis'adel by the end of the banner but by doing so I rule myself out of the next few banners. Whatever, concern for another day. Gonna go E2 and start specing my glorious Apple Pie courier now.
