There are already plenty of Rs who think SNAP is bad because they believe it is just so easy to get and abuse that millions of illegals and others who can actually work, but wont are on it.

It's highly likely that rural people know lgbt people too, like one of their kids, but they are pretending it's not a real thing due to religious pressure.

You would be surprised. A lot of them really have never knowingly interacted with a gay person, partly because people dont come out as gay until they leave and then never come back. And no, most of them dont have any gay relatives or kids. Maybe a cousin somewhere they make jokes about.

I'm talking about people in the rural midwest where going to "the city" means going to a place with less than 50k people. And they still think those are dangerous and crime filled. They might go to a real city once a year.

My wife considers the place we live to be a good size city. It has a 59k population.

The church part wasnt the point, it was the fact that most of the town have never met a gay person. We were talking about how insulated small towns are.

I was in a church town hall once that was discussing how to handle gay people. At one point the pastor asked how many people had interacted with a gay person.

Almost nobody had. But this was still an extremely important issue to them that they felt they did not need any more information about to make a decision. That decision was to condemn and shun of course.

Truly small rural towns (talking places that measure population in hundreds or thousands) are so incredibly sheltered.

This plus a lack of interaction with people different from them are the biggest drivers in my experience. Cities are full of bad/scary people who aren't like you.

Though religion can definitely be part of it.

From what Ive seen the ranchers and farmers this is impacting the most still love Trump and beg for his help.

Fatmers are mad about this but not enough to stop supporting him.

My parents own a couple dozen cows and they're absolutely loving the prices, even young cows go for like triple that they'd usually be. They're diehard antitrump so it's they're seeing it as just a happy accident in a bubble that's probably going to burst in the near future

I don't follow baseball as closely as I used to, but Shohei Ohtani hitting three HRs and striking out ten as a pitcher in a clinching game to go back to the World Series is an insane performance. It's still wild to realize that a player like him exists.

Don't forget that he threw 6 scoreless innings.

Important note on this. The 90 day non-compete clause requires WWE to pay the person for that time and wreslters are typically notified if that will be the case. No indication was given to Andrade that they intended to enforce it/pay him (supposedly because WWE did not plan on it and didn't expect AEW to resign him right away).

After his appearance on AEW they decided that they were going to enforce it but were still not going to pay him because he got fired.

I'll be honest, I have not gotten around to playing anything of Sandrock. Ive just heard its better overall, definitely more variety of characters.

It just felt weird to mention Portia and not what sequel which from what i've seen is better regarded.

Hopefully i will get to it before the 3rd one.

My current game i'm loving is Wildermyth. Its a storybook styled CYOA SRPG. Set campaigns or completely tandom generated ones. Random events can occur depending on your character attributes and previous events. Simple but fun battle system where you fight on a grid and have three basic classes (warrior, ranger, mystic). There is an overworked map that you explore and build on as you try and complete the overall mission. The better off the map is at the end the more legacy points you get. You create and recruit characters who age and can even retire as years pass in the campaign. Each chapter of the story is followed by a time skip. Character's can die or be permanently injured. They can have kids and romance or rivalries. You can get abilities that turn you into an animal or elemental person. Lots of variety. Im loving it after doing 3 of the 6 main campaigns. I recently completed one where I based my party on the FFX cast. You save the heroes to your legacy at the end and can spend points to save more of their abilities and attributes. You can reuse or recruit heroes from your previous campaign and some campaigns are designed to have you use legacy people. The campaign i just competed had a legacy mage in the starting party along with a character who is there kid.

Marvel Midnight Suns deserves more love and attention than it got. Great cast, really fun battle system, interesting story. The dialogue could be too cheesy and CW for some people but I still enjoyed it all.

My Time in Portia/Sandrock are really fun comfy games. Like 3d Stardew in a poat apocalyptic world but with the focus on you being a builder which i find way more fun than farming (though you can farm as well). Building is fun and you see the town change as you do things like build street lights (which change people's schedule), busses, buildings, etc.

Tried this for the first time today.

3:34 for hard. Didn't keep track of my other times but I believe they were all less than that.
