The one near me has an $8 box that's a Chalupa, crunchy taco, burrito, chips and a medium drink. I was traveling over the summer and the same box was $7 elsewhere. There's another box for 6 and one for 10 for me too.

That's the first time I've heard that. But even if it is true, by the time they were developed, the other two Deckmaster games (Netrunner and Vampire: The Eternal Struggle) had very not-Magic-like rules.

Yeah i think I took it a little too far with the mixing and mingling. But Deckmaster was meant to be a series of games from WotC in the 90's and you could argue that UB is succeeding at that; just unifying them under the Magic ruleset.

UB is, loosely, Magic As Garfield Intended. "Deckmaster" was supposed to be a unifying set of rules across different card games that could be mixed and mingled. The other card games that were introduced under the Deckmaster umbrella just crashed and burned in the mid 90's. So by putting other IPs into Magic, current WotC is arguably achieving Garfield's vision of consolidating multiple IPs into one broad game.

Now, Garfield's vision was largely ignored for the 2000's and 2010's and introducing UBs has led to a worse experience in my opinion. Some crossovers work but when they shifted to no more Universes Within cards it got too far. But the toothpaste is out of the tube so it's either choose to be ok with UB or get off the train which sucks.

The only thing that stopped me was the computer telling me it couldn't upgrade. Knowing there's a setting to flip means I'll do it at sometime this week.

Not my high school or the one I work at now but I did my student teaching at one that did. I was only a couple years removed from losing a friend to a drunk driver so it hit kinda hard. The staged accident was on a Wednesday then the Friday had a "memorial assembly" for the students where they showed the fallout for "surviving" students that had happened the later part of Wednesday into Thursday.

Looking back, I realize it was a scared straight type of thing but bagpipes playing Amazing Grace is incredibly effective in the moment.

I feel like a lot of pet owners I see on social media are unfortunately bad pet owners who only want to have an animal for vibes and aesthetic rather than acknowledging it is a responsibility

There's an episode of NCIS in season 1 dealing with two petty officers who convince another to walk off the boat with weights to prove he's actually immortal. Abby has to "beat" the game to access the other players' personal notes logs or something.

5/10, there's definitely worse Marvel out there. Anthony Mackie decent to good as Cap, rest of the movie outside of Harrison Ford really let him down.

I've never asked my dad but he has offered in the past that he thinks trickle down economics works and is a proven principle. That was an experience to hear.

I can see all three making a billion and all three missing tbh.

I think JW4 is the most likely to miss because I don't know if ScarJo has enough star power to push them over the hump like Chris Pratt did in the mid 2010's and the hype of bringing back the whole OG cast for Dominion. Dinosaurs seem to do really well in markets outside of America if I remember the JW films' performances correctly so maybe those areas push it over. I'm 30/70 on make/miss 1 billion.

Superman i think will get over with the hype behind Gunn and the genuine fans. However, GotG 3 didn't get over and that's the best MCU movie since like... Infinity War? Civil War? Winter Soldier? Maybe ever? Superman as a character and his place in public conciousness could push it over though, I think the performance looks great from what we've seen so far. I'm 60/40 make/miss.

Fantastic Four is my pick to most likely make it tbh. I think Pedro has the power to push it over, plus Vanessa Kirby and Joseph Quinn also meaningfully contribute to fan interest. Plus the interest in a big Marvel property going into Doomsday next year contributes to more eyes. I think the ending of Thunderbolts* will help drum up interest in this movie specifically even though TB underperformed for how good it is. I'm 80/20 on make/miss.

Once when my family went back east to Ohio/West Virgina for a second cousin's wedding in 1999/2000. They don't exist further west than the Rocky Mountains i think?

Crashout feels much more abrupt than a meltdown to me.

You know ice is going to melt, reactor cores will eventually get to a point where they melt without outside interaction, etc. A crash is sudden and jarring.

While that's an insanely fucked ending for Lilo and Stitch, does Nani actually lose custody like in a court battle or does she give up and choose what's "best" for Lilo in the movie's logic by letting her live with David's grandma? I'd argue for Skyrim. The release date helped feed some of the hype I feel.

Dunkin has slowly been getting more expensive near me and I've stopped going. New shop opened in 2021 and two donuts was about 4 bucks. Now the same two donuts is 5.70.

It is Southern California and everything is annoyingly more expensive here.

Gen 8 is the only time I haven't kept my starter I think. Even Gen 6 where I picked Chesnaught and ended up disliking it I kept it around for a phys wall.

Rillaboom just didn't do it for me and I could find enough Pokes to put together a sand team so I swapped him out after Nessa I'm pretty sure. He may have still been a Thwackey at that point.

I've never seen someone announce they'll be committing suicide by shooting themselves in the back of the head three times but there's a first time for everything I suppose.

It would be the actual simplest thing in the world for them to go "oh hey, our last set of X got scalped" and produce ten times as many of the next round. They still sell out in seconds, which is what the producers care about, and in a week you can't give the stuff away, which is what the consumers want. The only losers are the asshole scalpers.

It's not even like Pokemon cards are hard to manufacture, lol. They can print like a trijillion in a second.

TPCi is aware of them. After the original public response, they've announced that the current popular scalping set, Prismatic Evolutions, will be in print and be restocked on store shelves until September of this year.

Unfortunately printing cards and shipping them out takes time. The social media frenzy scalpers create scares people and they in turn feed the frenzy even if they're not trying to scalp because they "need" to grab product due to FOMO.

They do need to stop crunching the special effects departments too. Some of the ocean shots and the final fight shots were ROUGH.

I'd give it a 5/10. It's not amazing but they have some good parts, they just needed to put it together a bit better. Giancarlo Esposito was added entirely through reshoots iirc. They did integrate him better than the TMNT movie integrated the "real" Shredder i guess?

It's not Thor 2, Ant Man 2, or Quantumania level bad. Hopefully they continue to work on Sam. I am a bit excited for Thunderbolts and how they'll involve Bucky with what we got from this movie.

The name brand one is safe supposedly iirc. I believe it has a pressure sensor so it won't rotate to go into cleaning mode while the cat is inside and the door has a sensor in it so that if it detects (any?) resistance it won't close and will return to open.

The problem was the offbrand ones didn't have either sensor so they could be sold for cheaper so uh, potentially disturbing spoilers, cats got either caught in the cleaning rotation and crunched or their heads got caught in the door and beheaded.

Depending on gas prices where you liveand driving habits, you can earn back your membership in just the gas savings over a year.
