Stick of Truth is a great game. I couldn't get into Fractured But Whole, though. There's an early boss encounter where you have to run away from it while also encountering enemies who push you towards the boss. Maybe I just didn't understand it properly or my movement sucked, but it wasn't a fun battle.

They can die permanently from certain story choices

considering that the very first fight was almost a TPK, just me getting away with like 3 HP (NPCs revived them after), and the final fight went almost the same, we probably were supposed to be a few more
we had some bad rolls and the DM rolled alot of nat 20s

playing on Discord and a VTT, fairly big server
doing Descent into Avernus

so basically, first session is DM, me, Person X and like one more. "some people couldn't make the first session, they'll be here next game"

second session is DM, me, Person X and two new people, everyone else dropped

third session is DM, me, Person X and one new person, eveyone else dropped

fourth session is DM, me, two new people, one of which hasn't finished making their character, and the game stops before it starts

then yesterday i was told the game dissolved, for fairly obvious reasons, i think

one of my games just basically imploded before it really got anywhere

It was a massive overreach and people were not happy about it. There was massive backlash and the overall community decided to boycott D&D products and begin promoting alternatives such as Pathfinder 2. The changes were abandoned a couple of weeks later, but people were still mad that such a thing had happened in the first place

and i think the whole Pinkertons debacle that happened fairly recently before that didn't exactly help

if that's the game i think it is, it feels like they could just do a full playthrough of the game and edit out the UI

My only real complaint was the bard being basically a normal dude in a D&D party. Outside of like... one illusion spell that was really there to just be a gag we should have seen more party buffs, hold/dominate person (and other charisma check spells), and bard tricks. Did we even get a vicious mockery at any point?

i think that was so casual audiences wouldn't get confused about the archetypes
like you got the strong woman, the magic man, the shapeshifter and the face
if you suddenly have two magic men, it's gonna make the sorcerer feel rather pointless in the story

and i'm not entirely sure he was a bard, felt more like a high charisma rogue, possibly with Performer background

over the past month or so i've had to clear out 2 nests per day at work
they're relatively small since they only had a single day to build
