Wife has sleep apnea and doesn't always wear her CPAP (actually most of the time she doesn't). So yes.

There have been times in the past where she was super loud, woke me up and I couldn't get back to sleep but that was rare and years back before she started actually doing something about it.

However since I've developed pretty bad tinnitus in the last few years, I don't think I've ever had an issue with her snoring since. Not sure if she has gotten better or if the ringing just overrides everything now. Was really hard to sleep for a while when I first got it

goddamn, Shattered. that's fucked up. she was ok in the end?

Physically yes but there's definitely permanent nerve/muscle damage in her back. We also think she developed a mass in her chest from how hard the seat belt sank into her chest. She's had countless scans on it in the 18+ months since but they can't figure out what it is so they will have to biopsy it soon. We think it may be some sort of scar tissue which would be best case. Worst case it's unrelated and something cancerous but we really think it's from the accident as it's right where the massive bruising/clotting was from the seat belt

I haven't but my wife has and it's infuriating that she was classed as at fault for it.

She's making a left turn on a flashing amber. She gets t-boned by a guy doing 70+ in a 40. There is absolutely no way she could have seen him coming with the speed he was going and road layout. At the point she made the turn there would have been no sign of him.

She gets rushed to hospital in an ambulance so doesn't get to give a statement. Guy who hit her is fine. She gets ticketed for being at fault because he had right of way and there's no way of proving he was speeding and apparently the insurance companies and cops don't care enough to look into it further. Ya know except there's no fucking way her car looks the way it does if hit at anywhere close to the speed limit. If she had a passenger there would 100% been dead.

To add insult to injury, he also sued us. Despite him having no real injuries. We saw him at the hospital, he checked in to show he was there then immediately left. It wasn't even his car he was driving nor was he a named driver on the insurance.

System in Florida is absolutely fucked.

I mean trading cards in general are scammy and predatory. It's essentially gambling. And I saw that as someone who has probably over 10k worth of cards sat in my house right now.

The value of cards to kids are also vastly different to adults. Kids don't generally open them for the chase money cards and the way TCG have become so heavily investor / collector related already fucks over kids as it is. Try find your kid MSRP packs of like One Piece, it's impossible because even the stores that get them don't sell them MSRP. Hell, major retailers like Walmart, Target, etc don't sell the easily available and not spiked on price packs at over MSRP

I don't think it's as illegal as you think. I see these sort of machines all over. I've seen vending machines that definitely operate in a similar fashion and same with the little coin operated ones too. Stores do mystery pack stuff or like lotto draw type stuff with the same sort of system.

It's definitely shady and a lot of them at least suggest there's the possibility of a chase card. This is super common in Japan, like those things are fucking everywhere, I saw 100s when I was there. I've definitely seen them in the US too though and the ones in vending machines don't even suggest there's a chance of a chase card.

Trading card stores (and eBay) also buy up bulk to do this. It's not a one off scenario you have run into, these things are all over under many different forms

These 6 words are the biggest reason why for profit health care is a joke.

Yep, pretty much.

She also needs regular MRI's and other scans. The insurance company are like 'We will only cover one a year' meanwhile the doctor is like 'We need to do this every ~3 months so that we can make sure the mass isn't growing'. She's now going to have to have a biopsy because 18 months later they still don't know what it is and the insurance is saying that's unnecessary.

It was the same thing with her allergies. She has a fuck ton of allergies (like seriously 15+ of really common things) which may have been a by product of some of her past meds. The insurance company refused to cover an allergy panel stating it was an unnecessary procedure. They would rather her have the bouts of not being able to breathe and her stomach bleeding than her knowing what was causing it and avoiding those foods.

They just do absolutely fucking anything to get out of paying for the shit they are supposed to. It's infuriating, especially as someone who emigrated to the US from England where healthcare was free. I've paid for insurance for 12 years now and not used it for myself once so it makes me so angry when they won't cover shit for my wife. Luckily we are fairly okay money wise so just pay out of pocket when we have to but I can easily see how people rack up insurmountable medical debt or just don't get necessary treatment.

Health care should absolutely not be a business

My wife is prescribed Ozempic for her PCOS and insulin resistance. The insurance company refuses to cover it despite us being on what is supposed to be a fantastic plan (it's their top tier plan). They say they will only cover it if it's prescribed it for diabetes

It's an absolute joke. She has been given so many different meds for her PCOS with nothing working. Now she's presented with an option that actually works and they won't cover it.

2 of the most hype moments in gaming for me personally were

1. Being present for the shutdown of XIV 1.0 and watching the cinematic kick in as the server shut down. It was such an oh shit moment that I haven't had another game replicate

2. When we first beat Bahamut in XIV as a raid team after weeks of trying on the final run of the day after wiping at 0% the previous run. It was 2 weeks before they made changes to FCOB so was nice to get the win on essentially hard mode

So XIV gets the easy vote for me

I wonder how much the Magic front office regrets giving up a home game to play in Mexico City. Magic lost that game by 1 point and were 1 game off home court in the playoffs

I think with how the playoffs have shaken out, you could conceivably make a case for the Magic being the second most challenging team for the Celtics to face. I don't remotely expect the Magic to have won that series but 5-7 (probably 6) games against the team you need to beat the following year would have been a great experience

Yeah, it was this stretch

Dec 9 - Lost to Villa 1-0
Dec 17 - Beat Brighton 2-0
Dec 23 - Drew with Liverpool 1-1
Dec 28 - Lost to West Ham 2-0
Dec 31- Lost to Fulham 2-1

From January to season end they won 16, lost 1 and drew 1. The draw is neutral as it was to City.

So Arsenal had zero room for error if they couldn't beat City. They had to win all 17 non City games to win the league

It's not even anything Arsenal did late season that really lost them it. Sure they lost games and the ones to Aston Villa hurt but it was the end of December that really prevented them from winning the title. They took like 4 points over 5 games or something woeful. Rest of the season they were solid.

So I wouldn't even say they bottled it, they just faltered early in the season and it left them no room for error in the second half of the season. The fact that they kept it this close should still be a massive credit to them

It won't ever happen but I really wish they would do something about QB contracts. The disparity between QBs and everyone else is ridiculous. And yes it's the most important position but you have mid-tier or worse QBs (not talking about Goff) earning more than the best player at every other position.

They basically lost 2 coin flips that were ever so slightly in their favor. The 5th pick was their most likely individual draft position at 47.9%, hardly shocking that they ended up in their most likely position

So when I preliminarily put it in, we owed a couple of thousand at least and I just haven't had the mental strength to run through all the tax allowances to bring it down (I sell on eBay so there's definitely ways I can reduce it)

Started watching RWBY. That first season was super rough, i'm not sure i would have been able to persist with it if it hadn't been so short and auto played to season 2. Even now the animation is an eyesore but it's not as bad as season 1 which it feels like I could have put together on a laptop in my spare tine (I assume that's how it was made).

It has enough hooks to keep me invested for now though and I assume quality must pick up for it to have as many seasons as it does

Edit: I'm midway through season 3

Arsenal were 5 points off the title last season and only took 13 points from a possible 27 to finish the season (including losing 3 out of their final 6 games). Villa were 10 points off 4th.

Arsenal last year were far better than anyone expected so ended up far closer to title contenders than Villa did to CL contenders

Over the last 4 seasons

4th: 71, 71, 67, 66
5th: 67, 69, 66, 62

Whoever finishes 4th/5th will outdo the points total for those finishes in recent years. There is no 'giving it away'

And let's be realistic, it's going to be Spurs/Villa in some order at 4th and 5th. Man Utd have no shot given they have to win out (zero chance) and hope both those teams drop a lot of points. Utd would only have 72 points and a far inferior GD even in the highly unrealistic scenario they win 8 in a row (which would involve beating Liverpool and Arsenal somehow). Utd will be lucky to get to 66 points
