My headcanon is that Jenova is a parasitic alien hivemind that is controlled by its strongest willed host. The Jenova we see in game would have been a powerful Cetra who became infected by it, but would eventually become overpowered by Sephiroth.

I think that would keep the power dynamic between the two interesting.

I think people are being way too optimistic about the survival chances of naked humans here. The amount of people that would die from exposure the first night would be staggering. Throw in predators, a lack of available clean water and forageable food, and all but the luckiest of us are joining them in less than a week. It'd be a miracle if there were 100k humans left after a month.

How exactly is this meant to resonate with voters?
