The Simpsons, created by Matt Groening, is the longest-running animated series and sitcom on television. Its already been renewed through its 40th season, which will air during 2028 and 2029.

That season 4 cliffhanger will haunt me forever, though.

The worst thing ever. Except for the Netflix Reboot show which was a literal middle finger to its fans.

They released an 8 part documentary on the making of Reboot recently and everybody involved said they'd come back and do it again. They never want to let go of the possibility of finishing the show so still keep their original ideas for ending it under wraps. Would be surreal if that came together.

I count myself very lucky that I only got into the series when Season 3 was actually ready to air. Waiting 5 years for the resolution of that Season 2 cliffhanger would have been brutal.

What do you mean? Season 2 aired in 96 and season 3 aired in 97.

Reboot suffered the same problem for me. I knew people who loved it as kids, but I'll never know if it was good or not because I can't bring myself to watch more than 30 seconds of it.

The show worked so well because it grew up with its audience and each season improved on the visuals as the technology advanced.

Season 3 is one of the greatest archs I've seen of an animated series where they pushed the series from the light hearted standalone kid friendly stories to a darker, large scope serialized narrative. Watching that unfold as a kid blew my mind and I love it to this day.

I don't know about masterpieces but two that are infamously bad that I remember really liking as a kid were TMNT 3 and Batman and Robin.

I think as kids when starved for more film adaptations of your favorite characters you often ended up just accepting what was presented.

Batman 89 had the perfect balance. Dark in tone with the right amount of humor that didn't affect the overall tone.

Batman Returns went too far in terms of how dark it got and then Forever and Robin gradually went too far with the silliness.

Nolan's films while well made with great storytelling didn't inject much fun into them being as gritty as they were. I feel the same about the Superman films, getting that balance right has been really difficult.

The more movies they made, the more hilarious they got. The deaths are setup in such an entertaining fashion the way the chain of events that lead to each one occurs that it has unlimited potential as a franchise.

Why does no one talk about it then? People only talk about MMPR nowadays

Probably due to MMPR being more iconic in retrospect. They also had more seasons and a movie and the original team were so memorable they took on a life of their own in terms of Power Rangers nostalgia, especially when Rangers like Jason and Tommy left and returned multiple times.

I'd be willing to bet a good chunk of the people who watched In Space wouldn't even remember the names of the rangers in that season.

Interestingly Power Rangers In Space is much better than MMPR but few people have seen that because it wasn't as popular

I didn't see In Space until much later and is definitely one of the better seasons. It's great in the fact that it actually wraps up six seasons worth of story arc and is like a true finale.

Plus I get a kick out of the Ninja Turtle crossover episode even though that Ninja Turtle: Next Mutation show was pretty garbage.

From what I have seen the power ranger lore actually beats out the DC comics lore and I would actually consider watching a phase 1 marvel movieverse style franchise of the power rangers.

The reboot film was meant to be a six movie arc but they botched the first film so that all went out the window.

I had hoped a follow up to the Power Rangers movie could have taken what was established in the first and went full action. Shame we never saw it.

They got it the wrong way around. The first movie needed to establish itself with cool battles and action setpieces along with a baseline origin story. That's what the majority audience for this stuff was looking for and didn't get.

Character development and arcs should have been saved for the sequels once they had drawn the fanbase in. They shot themselves in the foot doing what they did for the first film in this kind of adaptation.

The remake movie from 2017 was actually a whole lot better than I expected it to be.

I also got to meet the Red, Blue and Pink Rangers when they were promoting that. They were all pretty cool.

I wish they had better direction for that film. It suffered similar to the Fantastic Four reboot where they spend over an hour establishing their powers before they become a team. The scene where they start to morph and then everything stops was symbolic of the whole movie falling on its face.

People go on about how it meant more at the end because they "earned" their powers. I'm just like it's power rangers. The action should be the primary focus and gotten to as soon as possible. I think that's one of main issues that hurt the film.

then explain how in fuller house they still have a ratty ass attic

It was twenty years between the shows. They weren't gonna live there forever. But I think there were inconsistancies with the attic design for Fuller House anyway, like the layout was flipped. It wasn't an iconic setpiece of the show like the other rooms so they probably didn't care about attention to detail for it.

they had way too many people living in that house

i also don't get where they just found two extra bedroom for the twins, early on joey mentions he had to live in the basement because there weren't any other rooms

There's an episode where Jesse and Rebecca move into the attic and Jesse renovates it to become their apartment including putting up extra walls for a separate room which became the twins bedroom so it somewhat made sense why there wasn't another room when Joey moved in.

He originally slept in the alcove of the lounge until the episode where they surprised him with a renovated room in the basement.

The biggest leap in logic is the layout of the whole house given the size of the exterior compared to the interior though that's problem applicable to every sitcom residence.

Outside of notorious stinkers like Superman 64, the worst experience I had was way back in the master system era. Alex Kidd in Miracle World was one of the first console games I played and loved and so was baited by the cover of High Tech World that it was a sequel in the same style. Alex was punching a ninja on the cover and riding a skateboard on the title screen, looked fun...

It was instead a confusing cryptic mess of a game that was just a Japanese title reskinned as Alex Kidd. It was so bad I made my parents take it back and got it exchanged for Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade which ended up being terrible in its own right but that High Tech World fiasco stuck with me.
