He probably plays.

He has supposedly been injured all playoffs long, don't know why he would sit out in arguably the most important game of his playoffs career when he was trucking along earlier before getting a weeks worth + couple days of rest, post game one.

I get medical have a say, but it'd be kind of lame if he sits out.

In other words, legacy points on the line.

TopicTips for Phoenix / Tempe in June?

I mean it's going to be hot every where in Arizona in the middle of June. Even places with more tolerable temperatures like Flagstaff will still be in the high 80's to low 90's, but you'll still melt in the Sun because of the elevation. If you are white, or easily sunburned, you will burn alive in minutes in the higher elevation without sunscreen lol.

colliding posted...
I'm honestly a bit worried about the heat. I don't plan on walking around outside too much during the day, but if it's still going to be 90 at night I don't know if I'm going to be willing to bar crawl.

Yeah it really depends on your heat tolerance. At night it will still be in the 90's, high 80's but it's not too bad because the Sun isn't beating down your neck. A lot of the heat is just retained in the infrastructure and concrete and radiates off of that.

But then again I may not be the best person to ask about how your heat tolerance is because I used to drive in Phoenix in the middle of the summer with no working AC in my car, and I'm very used to it.

Sedona is great for scenic stuff, and hiking, but it will also be hot.

You'll still be able to find stuff in the Tempe/Phoenix area if you are unable to venture much further out from those areas and only have accessibility from the lightrail.

Downtown nightlife in Tempe is pretty party heavy, especially Mill ave. Phoenix downtown nightlife has improved dramatically over the past few years.

You can access both through the lightrail, so no need for a car if you want to see other parts of the metro.

And yes, it will still be very hot even during the night.

Anything specific you want to do?

I'm gonna do a mini-cut through June. Debating how low I want to go, my goal is to try to get under 160. In anycase I'm going to go further than my previous cut, and start a new routine that incorporates more rest days(lol).

I've mentioned it a ton, but my job wears me down because I just walk so much, and my watch now lets me know how much I'm walking(25,000+ steps). Which is basically a workout in itself, and I'm constantly on my feet for those 8 hours outside of my lunch break. So I'm basically doing 2 workouts a day for the past couple of years.

Gonna change up my routine a bit, and hopefully get over the hump on some of my sticking points starting in July. Ideally I'd like to get to 155. Gonna weight myself on Monday morning and see where I'm at because I haven't weighed myself since the beginning of the month where I was at 171.

I mean for me it's also about how do you even get lebron?

James Jones is the Suns GM, who also happens to best buddies with Lebron.

I don't see how this works unless James knows something already.

Regardless, what I think is happening is that Lebron is trying to strongarm the Lakers into drafting Bronny, then he is going to take a 2 year extension with the Lakers. Lebron, who is notoriously known for being cheap, and is also known to lie about the smallest things for whatever reason I just can't see taking a vet minimum, even if it meant playing with the his son on the Suns.

The only inkling of reason I think there might be something there is just the James/Lebron connection, and the fact that Booker/ KD/Lebron will all be playing in the Olympics, and James has been notoriously bad at NBA draft picks.

nyways, one question for you guys. I've gathered that I should be avoiding saturated fats and trans fats. I've actually been under the impression for a long time that really, you should have zero tolerance policy for trans fats and not have it under any circumstances. It's banned from being added to food in both the US and Canada. But I see that it's very common that a lot of things have a little bit of it. 0g to 0.5 g usually. Apparently animal products often will always just have a little bit of it. So how should it be approached? Should it always be avoided? Should it be minimized to just a few meals a week that have that amount?

Saturated fats have differing opinions on it, but as far as I know most studies show that it does not have any significant link to disease. so imo it's not really the devil. Of course unsaturated fats are the ones you are going to want, but just like anything in life, too much of it is still not a good thing.

Trans fats are the ones you should avoid, but I don't think it has to be at all costs no matter what. Is a couple hot dogs gonna kill you? Nah, but obviously fats in Avocado's, nuts, certain oils that are heavier in the unsaturated fats are always going to be the best bet for fat intake.

Great job on your progress btw!

Injury excuses are always stupid anyway. Would they have been better? Maybe, but you don't actually ever know. Especially with a player like Randle who was only been proven to be a massive letdown most of his career. Anunoby was injured all year, so not sure what they expected from him, and Hart was obviously just running on fumes. Brunson was good and put up some stellar games, but also had plenty of stinkers which I'm not sure why people are throwing to the side.

Knicks just aren't there yet, they need one more superstar piece to just make the finals, but even then they would still probably lose to a Western conference team.

I normally squat a 90 degrees, or slightly lower, but since I'm just training to maintain my strength right now and focusing on higher reps, I started going ass to grass to help with my mobility. I mean obviously you still need good mobility to do that deep of a squat which is usually the limiting factor on why people can't, but I digress.

Anyway, it definitely gives a hell of a stretch on the top part of the quad, but also I can't do ass to grass with just the bar, BW? Totally fine, 135/225/315/365 all can do it. Anyone else have this problem? lol

Not a big deal, I only use the bar to warm up and gauge where I need to put the safety bars, but it's just a weird quirk I can't quite figure out.

According to the article landlines made up less than 6% of the poll. Cell phone is the most accessible means of polling that can't easily be cheesed (anyone can bot an internet poll). Just talking to people in person would suffer an even bigger sampling bias.

NYT's methodology adjusts for the fact that certain demographics are significantly underrepresented by cellular polling by weighting their responses more greatly. This has produced accurate results so far.

Accessibility doesn't mean reliability.

Modern polling has a lot of issues.

Instead of using opinion polls, why not use actual poll data? Ya'know all the elections that have happened from 2020 til now, where the Democrats have been obliterating in almost every single race, but yeah keep clinging to polls.

So um...

I've glanced at this topic here and there but never really had anything to say. I guess because of my inconsistency. I have a pretty bad hip, and I'm not in the best spot weight wise either. Those combinations alongside my depression have been... an uphill battle to say the least. But 2024 was the year I starting making more of an effort. I was pretty flakey in the first few months, but I starting going to the gym a bit more consistently in April.

This month, I've been going to the gym a lot consistently. I genuinely feel like I'm improving, I've also been taking up yoga (DDPY). I'm feeling more confident for sure. I don't exactly have a 'battle plan' of sorts, mostly just been winging it in terms of what exercises I do. But I'm making this the year I take control back of my health.

Hell yeah! Keep it up.

Consistency and the discipline to keep going is the hardest thing to achieve, imo. Motivation will only get you so far, so you have to learn to hunker down and just do it. Once you find things to enjoy about it, whether it's caveman brain of numbers going up and down, or just the feeling of now you are improving, getting better, getting healthier, it's a lot easier to maintain.
