The problem was they couldn't figure out how to properly get the "infected party members" part to work, so they just put a bunch of arbitrary trigger points in the game where your party members would just turn into a Thing.

You could stand next to one of these points, blood test the teammate and have it show negative, then walk 5 steps across an invisible point of the floor and they start growing teeth out of their ears.

Yeah exactly, they made this whole tutorial where you can give guns & supplies to party members to build trust. Or take a blood test yourself to show the team you're human, only for the player character to be the only one human in the whole game.

It was pretty good, but I remember they sort of dropped the ball on the trust mechanic because in the end everyone you partied with turned out to be a thing anyway.

These are entertaining for what they are. But I wouldn't mind getting a less humor and actual Rated R Venom adaptation in the future.

After seeing Venom chomped on the 4 heads in the trailer, I think the rating has been bumped up a bit.

But yea, a true R-rated Venom movie would be bonkers.

I worked with her for about 2 years and she's a very straight forward person who would not take shit from others, even from our manager. In some ways, I wish I had a backbone like her (I'm not a doormat but could use a bit more assertiveness).
