i haven't driven a ton in the past few years compared to before then honestly, so i don't have a really solid feel for this, but overall... it was nightmarishly bad here in the late 2010s tbh and it hasn't really gotten "worse" here since. but again it's kind of hard to say since i drive less and we had some significant road improvements around where i am or frequent during covid times so there's less... cause for friction between drivers for my experiences honestly. a few years ago i wouldn't have dared navigating city streets with anything like the car i use now since it felt nigh guaranteed that somebody would find a way to damage it if it was parked by the road, now it's less of a factor

on a related note, it was the score of it specifically being so low that made me kind of doubt it was remotely worthwhile for me to use my extra nom on Too Late, so it makes me kind of glad i nommed it now considering how much i'd be kicking myself for not doing so after it got scrutinised and bumped up like this lol. (also since it's definitely going to lose here, i do feel like just saying that i LOVE how they made archaludon as the most unovan entity possible in the expansion by making it yet another bridge. i even honestly think that the biggest reason they skipped straight to gen 6 on legends games is just because the "present" unova's (mostly bridge-related) architecture is so ingrained in the region's character that there's just not much reason to do one set in any other period and archaludon basically just represents them voicing this viewpoint themselves)

one i do feel like giving a mention for is actually just that i have a soft spot for certain modern ff menus (ff12, all the ff13 games though esp 13-2 and lightning returns, ff15, 7 rebirth, basically all the flashier ones. i realise that some of the ones i didn't mention are kinda "better" in this regard than ones like 12 but it's moreso like... that it stands out when it feels like it isn't taking steps back for its time specifically. also to be clear i'm talking menu menus rather than battle menus here)

(since it's not very clear, it's a 4 player netbattle realtime (non-turn-based) where you manage your colour attributes defensively and offensively to outlast everyone else. raising stats in one colour will allow you to deal more damage on colours it's effective on, and take less damage from ones it resists (the colour triangle is r>g>b>r, same as stuff like pokemon). depending on the cards you use, you can also change classes in the middle of the matches (hence the different models shown). also if you reach white (>220/255 each in RGB) and still haven't changed classes, you can automatically win the game, hence the title. it's an easy title to rope online friends into given the length of the matches (about 5 mins) and it has crossplay between pc/mobile/switch, which is a rarity for a solo-produced title from the japanese indie/doujin scene)

also no genres for now because i'm busy playing aka to get a perfect grasp on the full context castle plays in first (it evidently comes up a lot (ironically not in scenes at any of the castles in the desert featured in the story so far and yes there are numerous) and the story clearly has a lot going on)

it's funny to think how many things that sound like they should be from eroge this year aren't lol. titles like requiemforxxx, carrot carrot, sax of opportunity lol, games like x-day... and tribal hunter technically not qualifiying lmao despite specifically being made to cater to like 5 fetishes i despise simultaneously. it also feels like a minor miracle that despite there being several gachas and very gacha-equivalent titles in the bracket there isn't a single one with an x-rated equivalent this year.

ok this one didn't take as long to decide but i still feel really bad about it (definitely liked dearmyfriend considerably more than in noms (and i already liked it then) but it just wasn't enough to close the gap)
it's still wild to me that freedom planet 2 not only failed to make the main bracket in bost22 but also didn't dominate in snubs (while using dragon valley)

Dance of Wind is the boss theme for this rival fox character, Katsu, who has one semi-compulsory fight (it is more or less a metroidvania after all) and a couple of later optional ones judging from this playthrough. Chromesthesia is almost exclusively used in missions where you're up against the Light Pollution group while at their base during missions in either chapter 4 or 5. It's also used for a series of sidequest missions accessible from chapter 4 as well. A lot of the missions in that area tend to just be boss battles (which all have unique songs), so it doesn't appear to get used that much. By the way, tangentially, stuff like this is why it is absolute insanity to me that people still call noctuary a visual novel. It even has a fucking vndb entry. I guess I can't complain though since it does provide a source of really positive review scores for it lol, after gaming media ignored the heck out of it for being a chinese indie game. Stilt Village is used in all lake levels (Lakeside Limbo, Tidal Trouble, Kreeping Klasps, and Stormy Seas). Stormy Seas being the one among them added in the GBA version (and also just being the coolest one), that's why I defaulted to footage of that one as well as using it for the genre. Fire Island Volcano's a postgame area in psmd as the video obviously suggests. The modest 10 floors serves as a reminder that I wish mystery dungeon dungeons were longer again... Inochi no Hyouhon is a beatmania song no matter how much it sounds like it should've just been in ar tonelico or umineko for obvious reasons, and assuming I've gotten the gist of things just off the footage i could find of other X-DAY games, VEX DAY seems to be one of the results themes (there may be multiple).
