The worst part was opening the menu to change boots, but the 3ds version of the game fixes that issue.

randomizers do too these days! (or you can use the Better OoT mod by itself)

but yeah, that and the slight complexity overwhelming my little child brain are why I had bad memories of the water temple. I don't think I hated it as much as others did, but it always felt extremely intimidating

youtube kid slop is absolutely positively terrible. maybe there's some decent things technically on there, but what the algorithm favors is just kind of nightmarishly bad

With the 4th option you'll have to be more specific as I'm sure there's a wide range in quality among the shows on Youtube Kids (just like regular YT).

I don't know if saying "youtube kids" as a whole is the correct way to identify it, but it's the kind of stuff that naturally gets recommended to small children clicking on things on a smartphone. I occasionally see some on my recommends when I watch a video that the youtube algorithm is absolutely failing on (new account, first video, no views) and just recommends the most popular stuff on youtube at the time

I'm relatively sure it's just AI iterating on other popular stuff

how common of an opinion is it that I think the fields of mourning is the worst zone to go through? I know you can follow the golden bits on the ground and touch the trees, but the open nature of the zone feels out of place. the enemies are all great (cerberus was a deceptive noob trap but I've learned better and respect the stomps... usually....)

I got the credits screen a few days ago and I'm still pushing at it. there's so much left to do even if I don't try to push fear levels I'm uncomfortable doing (so anything past 4). one post-credits heirloom allows so much silliness in builds, I just wanna see where the winds take me

I didn't use rerolls most the time (and opened with the Chaos keepsake anyways) so getting my first one earlier was just an absolute gift

All of the danger of roads is created by and is supposed to be mitigated by drivers.

no all the dangers of roads are fundamentally caused by driving and vehicles inherently being a dangerous activity. it's a multi ton mass of metal hurtling at incredibly fast speeds essentially everywhere in the nation all the time. the dangers of hot coffee should not be anywhere in the same conversation as that

even if everyone drove perfectly there would be yearly fatalities. meanwhile it should be expected that sometimes coffee will spill and that shouldn't cause debilitating injuries

there's a reasonable assumption of no physical harm though imo, I don't think it's really comparable to standing the middle of the road. the worst outcome should be some stained pants

this feels like a lethal extension of the mcdonalds coffee thing (the lady was, by the way, was 100% in the right, if you haven't read up on it)

yeah it's legit wild how well-received the DE for aoe2 has been. you'd think people would be cranky about inserting new stuff into an old game, but they get basically universal praise. I was kinda mad about them depreciating the old aoe2, but with what they've done, it's worth it

you are not going to be able to exert enough force to harm a grizzly bear vs them exerting enough force to crush you through the weight of that armor. if you want to win vs a grizzly bear, it has to be done from a distance with technology like guns. armor dissipates force throughout the body but grizzlys can fuck up your whole body at once

yeah my keyboard's probably fine. my only complaint is sometimes my function key gets stuck and i get really confused when some key presses do weird things

maybe if i was a real gamer i'd get something with a wired option for super optimal latency, but I can't discern any lag like I can with bluetooth

honestly i just use cheap shit from walmart for my keyboard and mouse, $10 each max, acer and logitech

modern pc monitors usually just go inactive when no activity is detected. why would you need a remote if you have your keyboard and mouse ready? just turn off or sleep mode the pc

I use a remote for my second monitor but only because I just salvaged someone else's dying TV

Oh no, I was bad at 2 too, I just really loved it (especially custom maps). It was hard for me to plan for the long-term when I was, like, 8, which was when I came up with this brilliant username for neopets and runescape.

nope, and I unfortunately never played that much of 3 either. I was really bad at those games! I'd probably be better now since I had a SC2 era, but AoE's economy and macro never really clicked with me

the best western ones I hear about are some made with 3D models (treasures of nadia, being a ***, etc) but those seem so antithetical to why I like visual novels I can't get into them. they feel like a whole different thing even if yeah, I know they're visual novels

the original designs were made by a doujin manga artist and some 4channers got his approval before making it, so yeah it took after his art style. but it's good because it's good, not the art style. there's no cynicism towards the medium, it's just made by a bunch of random strangers on the internet who really loved visual novels

western VNs too often try to be different for the sake of being different, like they have some massive aversion to the format they're copying. it's big "i'm not like the other girls" energy. obviously they CAN be good (look at katawa shoujo) but so often they're just obnoxiously full of themselves
