In the end, Jimmy took accountability for everything in the only way he knew how: as part of a performance. I think he wanted to but he needed Kim's civil suit with Howard's ex as a reason.. He had nothing left to live for. He lost everything he fought for and was tired of hiding. I think that's what his sabotaging his life in Nebraska was. He is who he is. Slipping Jimmy/Saul Goodman and when he fessed up, he gained the admiration of all the criminals and ne'er-do-wells who saw him as someone real despite his theatrics.

What stands out to me about Ebert is that he treated every genre of movie as equally worthy of criticism and that he didn't seem to have a strict rubric or checklist. He openly went by feel. His ability to popularize these concepts had a real impact on peoples' experiences of seeing movies.

I have a love/hate relationship with NYC but Nashville has no appeal to me whatsoever. I've lived in both for significant parts of my life.

I find it infuriating to think that hatred will still win before I die. I do think that the best policies we can have around money will protect the working class and that financial freedom is the closest thing we can promise to any ideal of freedom for minorities in this capitalist political system. Even that seems implausible now, but I can dream.

Yes. It has paid for itself several times over with the interest. There are other benefits I don't use.

Part of our legal system is a right to a vigorous defense. That lawyer does look and sound hilariously like a stereotype, though. Great pocket square. I'm sure they weren't lining up to defend this monster.

I was already becoming a bit turned off by the show after they really got settled in Austin. It seems like a bunch of people who are travelling to Austin specifically to "make it big" on Kill Tony rather than random locals and it just doesn't feel the same as when they were touring and had such a different audience in every city. The Trump thing is what caused me to actually drop it rather than it being a once in awhile thing. The show definitely kicked ass back when they were on tour and in LA with the old band. Another thing that turned me off, was David Lucas, one of the regulars. I actually went to see him live, got roasted by him on stage, and got pictures with him afterward, and a lot of really disturbing stuff has come out about him lately that I'm just not cool with. There's a lot of luck that goes into who does well on Kill Tony. I've had friends who went on and crushed and it helped multiply their followings. I've also known people who weren't so lucky (or ready) and got made fun of more than praised. And yes, a lot of people who go on just suck and aren't ready. The Austin scene is saturated now with these guys and the crowds are not kind to people who really suck or are arrogant. Even having 2-3 years of solid experience is a buffer against those truly horrible experiences and a lot just don't have that... and enough of these people can tank a whole show.

Other than that it's probably run its course in the comedy zeitgeist but will be a mainstay in Austin. Tony is cashing in now after having done it for so long and becoming a "conservative" comedian.

It's more profitable to sell to the US. If you still have questions, work backwards from there.

I see. Yeah, the US dollar is gonna take a hit. I'm not so sure that's our biggest problem for now, but it could be a catalyst for bigger problems in the future if it spirals out of control.

So? The US dollar is the most traded currency in the world. Second is the Euro and it isn't particularly close. So maybe I shouldn't have used "desired." That's subjective. It's the most used and the most in reserve.

America is not even the largest country in the world by population size. China and India are.

And the total no of people in the EU is more than the population of America

The US dollar is the most desired currency in the world. Selling products in our country is going to net them a lot more money than if they sell the same products in China or India.

Now, actions like these tariffs may undercut such presumptions and get merchants and other governments to rethink this order. That would be not so great for the US dollar.

Of course! I do stand-up so I watch a good amount of it. I do think that networks oversaturated market for hour-long specials in the past decade. Having 45+ minutes of consistently great material is a feat. Showcases and indy shows can be a good bit of fun, as can a night out at a comedy club.

GWB was somewhat above average intelligent childish and insecure and let this override his intelligence any decision-making. he was manhandled by people far more ruthless. it's the shocking context of the early 21st century that quickly exposed him. Reagan was also no dullard. Not in comparison to the buffoons that led to the Great Depression, for example. he was, however, aging quite rapidly. Trump is comparable in this regard and is now older than Reagan was in his administration. of course, Trump has a host of severe personality issues and is way out of his depth on economics.
