Awakening had its flaws, but I still found it to be pretty fun. I enjoyed it way more than Fates or Three Houses.

Its not about the amount of content but what kind of content. I loved Three Kingdoms but they did put in a lot of content besides the battles and you can consider it a way to pull in a lot of casuals since it feels like they took the conversations and tried to make them a bigger part of the game.

I agree. Three Houses put way too much non-battle stuff between the battles, and it felt like pointless bloat to me. I finished one playthrough, then tried to do a second with another house and got so bored that I just uninstalled the game a few chapters into that second playthrough.

Meanwhile, I replayed Awakening like 5-6 times and I've replayed Engage 3 times so far. Those games actually put a big focus on the core gameplay, and the side stuff was either optional or wasn't intrusive to the point of detracting from that core gameplay.

I'm loving it so far even with my 0.8 K/D. I could definitely see myself playing XDefiant long-term and trying to get better at it.

If I had a nickel for every anime this season that used the story of Amaterasu and the Amano-Iwato cave as a metaphor for luring a shut-in out of her room, I'd have three nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened thrice.

I would if I could. Sadly, most of the retro games that people were using these ROM sites for have had no re-release on modern digital platforms, so the only other way to play them aside from emulation is to buy an expensive second-hand copy, which Nintendo makes no money from anyways. And that's not even mentioning games that were never released in this region to begin with that people were playing with fan translation patches.

Not everything about emulation is pirating current games. Not even close.

Meanwhile here I am with a whopping 20 shows that I'm interested in for this coming season.

Cute but cool design, great typing, a unique niche in battles that not many other Pokemon can pull off (AKA Serene Grace hax), and the Jirachi movie is still one of my favorites in the franchise when it comes to the anime.

Amazing game for its time, but I feel like playing it nowadays wouldn't be as great, especially if you're used to 60fps games (only the original GC version is 60, all re-releases since have been 30) and the quality of life features of modern Tales games. It's probably still great, just not quite as great as back then.

The story and characters still hold up incredibly well though, so much so that I would actually recommend watching the anime adaptation if you don't have enough free time for a long JRPG. Despite the short runtime, the anime somehow has more fun character interactions that the game doesn't have.

Does pro wrestling count as a sport and therefore not count for this poll? Because the only thing I need cable for besides my local sports teams is AEW.

The fact that Sega hasn't made some kind of Chao Garden mobile game yet is a huge missed opportunity.

Yes, but not nearly as much as I used to. I'm only playing two now, one of which (Revue Starlight ReLive) is more content for my absolute favorite anime franchise of all time while the other (D4DJ Groovy Mix) is a rhythm game where the gacha aspect barely even matters at all. When these two eventually EoS, I'm probably done with gacha games for good.

The top one is definitely better and more balanced overall. The bottom one has a legendary and an uber in it, but they're carrying 4 very "meh" Pokemon.

If the paid stuff is cosmetic only like it has been the past few games, then I think it's fine. As long as the core gameplay is fun and anything that actually affects the gameplay (weapons, maps, etc.) is free for everyone, they can include all of the battle passes and store bundles they want. I couldn't care less.

Ive been playing zombies since World at War on 360, and Ive played and loved every iteration of it, even the new stuff like Outbreak and MW zombies.

Glad to see someone else appreciate Cold War zombies, its one of my absolute favorite versions of the mode and while a lot of the old heads didnt like it, I love how it brought in lots of new people into the mode.

I'm definitely one of those people who was brought into zombies mode with Cold War because it the mode simpler and more accessible. I tried the zombies modes in some of the older games (BO1-BO3 and WW2) but I didn't like how complicated some of the maps were. In some of them, you had to do an entire easter egg just to turn on Pack-a-Punch, so it doesn't even feel like the game really starts until after you do the obligatory 15-20 minutes of setup. The games didn't just feel slow, it felt like the actual fun parts were needlessly time-gated. I respect the earlier games and the people who enjoyed them, but the experience just wasn't for me.

Cold War on the other hand, was much more my speed. You can get PaP on easily in like 5 minutes on every map and have fun from there. There's still a sense of progression with the multiple PaP levels, rarity tiers, perks, and so on to combat the zombies getting tougher every round, but it never feels like I'm time-gated out of the fun parts. I know a lot of the old zombies veterans hated it for making zombies "too easy", but everything they say about that just sounds like old boomers complaining about how kid these days get school buses while they had to walk 15 miles to school uphill both ways. In a perfect world, BO6 zombies would simply have two difficulty options: a "classic' option for the old veterans and a "modern" option for the newer fans who came into the game with Cold War.

Yep, it looked great. Throughout the life of Cold War, I went from "I don't like zombies mode" to "I'll just play zombies as an easier way to level up my guns to multiplayer" to "oh wait, this mode is fun" to "I need to beat every single easter egg and collect every single piece of intel" and had a blast with the game. I actually ended up playing it more than the multiplayer that year. Hopefully BO6 zombies has that same kind of fun factor.

Two round-based zombies maps at launch is more great news. We'll have to wait until August for more info on multiplayer and zombies, but still, I'm already hyped for BO6. Treyarch's CoD games are almost always my favorite ones, and with four years in the oven, it looks like they cooked hard with this game.

The old prestige mode is back in BO6. No more seasonal level bullshit. That's great news for a lot of people, but I'll probably just never prestige because I don't want my shit locked again.

This omni-directional movement might be tough for me to get used to. But I'll give it a shot. It can't be as annoying as adjusting to the advanced movement when Advanced Warfare came around... fuck was that really 10 years ago?

Yep. I liked Outbreak and would have liked MWZ more if it got more support, but the round-based maps in Cold War are what got me into zombies after being a multiplayer-only CoD player for so long, so I'm happy to see true round-based zombies back.

Expedition 33 and Perfect Dark were the highlights for me in terms of the main showcase. Now time for the Black Ops 6 direct, and hopefully we actually see some multiplayer/zombies news and not just campaign stuff.

Pokemon Yellow Legacy

It's definitely tougher than vanilla Pokemon Yellow, but I'm pretty sure I can beat it without any blackouts. I'm at the last gym and haven't had one yet so far. Then again, I've heard the E4/Champion got a big boost in this ROM hack, even compared to the rest of the game.

Expedition 33 looks and sounds pretty interesting.

Black Ops Cold War. It was meant to be a soft reboot of the Black Ops franchise, and this new game was originally rumored to be Black Ops Gulf War but then got changed to Black Ops 6.

I don't give a shit about CoD campaigns, I'm waiting for MP/Zombies news in the second showcase later. Good on Microsoft for the day 1 Game Pass inclusion and no more exclusive content for any platform though.
