Apparently they are postponing the vote, they removed that from the agenda just before the meeting.The news articles I've read state they didn't have enough votes, and they've postponed the vote until they can get them. It's better than it outright passing and moving on in the legislative process, but I'd have really preferred it getting scrapped entirely. I've never seen such a big group of Jedi being deployed because of one person and that includes books and comics I've read.I actually appreciated that they did this because it would have been ridiculous to do anything else. She killed a Jedi one on one, then got to and killed another in Jedi temple, followed by her escaping from three Jedi somehow. The audience knows how lucky she was getting, but the Jedi back at the temple don't (and nobody but Sol is going to buy that a Jedi who devoted himself to meditation chose to kill himself). Writing, character design, level design, music, art, event scripting---you need all of that, and it takes a ton of time even if you have most of the elements done (or buy them). Out of all the genres, RPG is probably second only to an MMO in difficulty.
If you are just interesting in messing around with the tools, you have a few options. GameMaker is still out there and has been steadily improving. RPG Maker is still a thing with recent versions (under no circumstances even think of buying Pixel Game Maker MV on Steam thinking its similar). Godot is also improving by leaps and bounds, and I've never had much of a problem with it. A sort of out there option if you are better at coding is Defold. Examples are sparse and there isn't much of a community, but the people who do like it absolutely love it. While the documentation is sparse, it does feature a few nice examples with full resources. An absolute wildcard would be Click Team Fusion 2.5, which has a free edition on Steam. It's getting a little long in the tooth and does cost money for some add-ons, but if you are interested in making 2D games, at least give the tutorials a whirl for the sake of novelty. --- Cuteness is justice! Congress keeps pushing legislation each year that is just as bad as what this would be, and that's on top of the government's already existing "secret" spying powers (which recently got upgraded when they were renewed). There is also the looming threat of the UN Cybercrimes treaty later this Summer. Normally what the UN says doesn't matter, but the final version would change laws all over the world, including here in the US. All they can ever be is people posting about their personal spiritual beliefs or lack of them. I appreciated the shades of grey here. Some folks thought the ritual looked goofy, but I thought that made it feel authentic. Stuff cults do does look weird if you haven't been indoctrinated, and behind that awkwardness is danger: there is dark power, there was a deep looking hole behind the mother, and there was an as yet unstated reason for needing the girls.

When the subject of of helping out family comes up, you get either "lol fuck them and live your life" or "do the right thing and help". My social circle isn't huge, but I know exactly one couple who aren't either helping or being helped right now by family. Like, it's 2024 and lot of folks are hurting. I don't know why there is so much negativity.
We don't know what he is doing or why. I would 100% help out my family if they needed me. It depends on what's going on. Parents moving in with you or planning on moving in with no plans of ever leaving? Yeah, there is hard conversation waiting there (and if this is what's up, you both need to get out now). Or if it's something really weird like they just won't do basic things for themselves like learn how to drive or pay bills or whatever. But this entire topic is kind odd. Yes, it's a Pirate Party politician's blog, but I don't read any foreign languages to get a more direct source. Previously, the EU wanted "Chat Control 2.0", where every message anybody sent would need to be scanned, and if it was flagged as potentially containing illegal content, reported to police (with a reported false positive rate as high as 75%). Now this new proposal states it will be "voluntary", because unless you agree to everything being scanned, you won't get to send video or images to other people. The language I've seen suggests they are just starting with CSAM, but intend to use it for other things in the future. Many of the detractors of the previous plan apparently like this one because reasons. The information counts as a leak. Maybe they were hoping nobody would hear about this before elections were done?
