I thought it started horribly, but it grew on me heavily. I haven't watched most of the new seasons though. Probably on the upper tier of the adult oriented animations

They're actually kinda running out of notable manga adaptations cuz the corrupt ass anime industry has been churning them out too quickly. I feel like the absolute biggest ones that were obviously gonna get an anime one day have already been done, like Frieren, Mushoku Tensei, basically every modern shounen. I guess there's shit like Kagurabachi that's obviously gonna get one one day.

It's to the point where they're finally breaking their bullshit rule about never going beyond season 3s in some anime. MT has at least 5 seasons of anime worth of content, and basically every story beats from the current one and on is probably some of the best I've seen come out of Japan ever, so.

Yeah Armored Xyz stuff is much better than Crystal Wing combo. It never locks you into anything.

Also I only bought the whole Armored Xyz package irl cuz it was ungodly cheap, but seems I massively lucked into buying a Full Armored Ray Lancer for 75 cents lol... cuz it's mostly 5 bucks or more now. It wasn't a Korean version either, though they're still 75 cents

Yeah I can't go without the Armored Xyz spell either. It makes your turn 2 interactions stronger and gives earlier targeting protection. Also having spell and trap as garnets heavily reduce your chance of drawing both, which let you Torpedo and directly into Fortress to activate his effect. Meanwhile having Lancer rank 4 also means you can search both but also have target for both spell and the trap.

Invoker line dies the moment you draw either the spell or the trap, so it does feel better to go Torpedo. I've found myself going Torpedo most of the time.

A certain part of my body defo exploded when it happened. But a full body explosion can still happen, just you wait

Meanwhile, I somehow dismantled an entire Laby board with a single terrortop. It is actually insane how incapable some decks are of outing that line and then also see that they have to deal with an entire PUNK line.

Finally bricked though. I think the brick % is much lower than in my projection. Board quality differs a lot, but generally if I drew Terrortop, I just feel good. I feel like Armored Xyz and Terrortop is gonna end up in a lot of the decks I end up building. I just feel like the combo bait out so much stuff. I don't mind if the rank 5 gets Ash'd cuz now the even better Ash target can come into play. I don't mind if the Rank 7 gets Nib'd cuz the Nib weak part of the deck can come alive. It's definitely a much better component than Invoker. Invoker into S:P and Drident is still relevant, but it's more of a win more atm

Is it weird that I'm still shook from having pulled a Royal Rare Alt Art Engage?

I heard some of the subreddit ppl didn't like the change. I see some footages of it, and it doesn't seem like as big of a change as some mentioned? The heavenhold does seem much emptier though. Not sure if that's an improvement

You know, it really does feel good when the deck you had for ages do get support. I mean Secret Six Sams were... odd as supports to be honest with you. Hatsume kinda got phased out for additional Mizuho and Shinai, and even Kizaru got phased out when M-X Invoker got banned. Losing Isolde also really hurt when Fuma used to be her definitive target.

These supports are pretty good. I mean in reality, there's only one here that truly matters, and it's the lvl 6 Shi En that negates Monsters as SOPT. This deck can spam out Shi Ens pretty damn easily.

I personally thought the character interactions were its strong suit and the card game was the weak link. If they did both really well, swapping between them wouldn't feel like a chore

There's 100% music in battle lol. It's an alright game. You can kinda tell they haven't really made card games before. Good for a first try but I think they could've gone much wilder with it. It doesn't really evolve in complexity fast enough, and the environmental stuff feels a bit too random due to a lack of flexibility in movement

I was trying to get a good replay of an Armored Xyz/Zoo/PUNK full combo. I completely flubbed one up, and I didn't get terrortop in like 12 duels, which I ended up winning all 12.

In fact, I didn't draw him once via the PUNK field either in all those duels. I had to go and double check if I didn't take him out accidentally.

I have the event weapon at max limit break and grinding for a good logistics. Middle one at +15 though

At Manifestation 1 and halfway through the 2nd.

She's pretty damn good. I got a fairly high build on her but I was outputting insane dmg and doing all the tanking at the same time

Looking back on footages, the game has some pretty underrated visuals. I think it's a bit grindy still, but Siris alone made this game so freaking fun to play. She doesn't outdamage Katya, but I don't really think she needs to. When the time comes and the game starts having bosses that actually threat killing glass cannons, it's pretty obvious which unit will come out on top. Even in this multiplayer boss battle, I was the only one with sizable HP. The other 2 were struggling to stay alive

Playing Nimble Spright Adventure again cuz the buffs were so good for it, as well as the addition of S:P, which is a phenomenally designed card with a ton of flexibility. It is shocking how bad I am at piloting this deck. Lost a basically won game cuz I targeted the wrong fucking thing vs. R-Ace, then squeaked by a win due to very close calls vs. Traptrix by withstanding their insane grind game. Adventure seriously carried me super hard in this regard because the Griffin was ever present.

Eh my dad indirectly ruined an interview once. I got recommended by the house owner cuz I made communications easier for her, and I lived with my parents at the time. Before the interview, she came to the house to kinda do a prelim interview, and my dad decided to sit right next to me and basically speak the entire time and trying to sell the idea of me very poorly. It backfired cuz she thought that I was just being a mouthpiece for my dad in all the communication attempts when he was barely home during all that, and it was all me.

I mean yeah you're probably gonna prepare for a quest, but you don't need to put thought into stuff like inventory space and which combination materials to bring with you because you can just zoom back to camp and restock and put on another armour set if the one you had didn't suit the occasion. Preparation used to be a much bigger deal and now it's something you don't need to think about too deeply.

Yeah I mean being able to go back to camp mid quest was a very necessary and positive change. I get what you mean by quest prep now, but they didn't even really show that off in these trailers. There was just way too little gameplay related stuff, and a large majority of the trailers were cutscenes. I really don't think writing was MH's best suit... ever.

I mean MH4U and on already basically made gathering pointless, but quest prep and talisman like grinding are quite literally in every single MH unless you're just doing easy shit all the time.

But most of the game should be the hunter vs. the monster in a fight to the death. All the other bullshit like cutscenes, dialogues, monsters jumping around like ADHD children, all that shit can be cut off, cuz they're all one and done annoying experiences that the cinematic addicted gaming core audiences eat off the floor of.

Jesus fuck, there have been 3 MH Wilds trailers and like maybe 20 seconds of that was actual combat. I hate how World has set such a non-Hunting MH as a precedent, and that's what we're gonna get now.

The only cards I have that could ever be considered a staple are guardian chimera, Alpha da big guy of beasts, and that one rank 4 dark dragon that steals half the opponent's ATK. Do you have any that are staples?

I got Isolde, Spright Blue, and Hiita. Honestly those 3 alone would make most people jealous, but I'm always afraid of Isolde being banned.

I guess it's not for you. I dunno what RPG Maker games you've played that even looks remotely like this because I've played a lot of RPG Maker games myself. Not sure what card game battlers you've played that plays exactly like this either cuz there are a lot of interesting things you can do from the get go. I do say it as a big Monster Train fan as well as a long time Slay the Spire player. There are more things you can do in terms of mixing party members in this game. Though I can't say every character will somehow mesh with every character like with mixing classes in Monster Train

Once got this glitched card while putting the grey hair guy in my party. The game kept goading me to just forfeit and restart.

Also I'd just go with expert difficulty if this feels soulless to you because the boss battles have been pretty nail biting already

I ended up buying the entire Armored Xyz package and Terrortop package, alongside a gazillion random stuff that I can fit into other pet decks that I have, like Crystal Beasts, and Isolde combo stuff, which I play a custom banlist anyways and isn't banned cuz I'm not using it for locks or FTKs. It was a bit impulsive, but it is kinda crazy how many good cards you can get for pretty cheap if you play your cards right.

Bans: They gutted Numeron, Salad, and Mathmechs lol. Man they just hit Doug's Pend? That's like his weakest deck. Yeah Gage has an insane Cydra deck. Ok they don't need to ban Salads anymore. NO GAGE DON'T HIT FABLED. Yeah Buzzsaw is more dangerous than Aliens. Ze Amin limit is interesting.

Imo Doug should bring Fabled and... ngl I dunno. I swear he had better decks in tow. If he powers up speedroid harpies, it should be decently strong. There's also Infernoble knights which can still do stuff with a few more cards imo. His Pend deck isn't that strong imo but with Mathmech and Salads gone, maybe it's viable.

Farfa can still do his Rank 4 turbo, and his 2nd deck can be... something involving Shaddolls one would have to think

Gage has Cydra, which I also called. He fit all of his stupid strong individual bosses. The other back is Unchained. He pulled so good here. Ok he just shoved in a bunch of Labry bricks. I dunno about that. His 2nd deck could be good but it's the worst deck shown thus far

Doug has... Pend. Ugh I don't really like this one lol. It's just a beatdown deck. He's not gonna play Fabled. Suddenly Doug is looking to be the shakiest one despite being in the overall lead. He's never really been good at playoffs. DOUG WTF IS THIS DECK oh my god. I think he's cooked. This is actually the worst deck shown thus far. Oh no Doug why... This is not beating Branded Shaddoll for example. This is a Gage-ian deck

Farfa v Gage: LOL ok wow... Cydra is a phenomenal match up vs. Springans. Wow Gage is so goated for the Pleiades bounce to fizzle the Golgonda. That's really good. You know, Gage should've just contact fused away Exblower no? This officially knocks Gage out of the running

Gage v Doug: Yowza, this is a really good hand from Doug. I think it's already over right? YE Dai time babyyy. Does this mean Doug already won this season? Nvm Doug just has to win 1 more to tie for 1st at worst

Farfa v Doug: Ngl Doug gotta draw so well to beat this deck. Spriggans getting passed up for so many goddamn episodes was painful. It's so good in sealed. Yeah seems over. Structure Pend ain't beating this.

Round 2

Doug v Gage: Oh my god Doug is not winning another duel. This is so bad. Memory of Adversary on Abomination will go hard. Maaaan why did Doug go freaking Fire Fist Gravekeepers. This is so wild man this deck is so bad. It's a literal week 1 deck.

Doug v Farfa: Doug throwing so hard. I'd rather him play inconsistent Fabled than this shit. My GOAT is washed. This deck fucking has Call of the Haunted. How did Doug convince himself to run this deck? Wind Up Rabbit isn't even lvl 4. Wow how the... Yeah I'm not watching this duel. Doug, just run like Speedroid Harpies? Freaking Burning Abyss? It's a good season, but I... yeah I dunno. Doug lost a 1 horse race. Doug generally kinda chokes on play offs cuz he doesn't really think about the end game. There's no way he literally didn't have anything better than a deck with like 5 structure deck cards though.
