As somebody who started with the red box in the early 80's and played fairly regularly for the next 20 years, the movie reminded me so much of all the good times I had. So many small things felt accurate to my memory of play sessions.

The brief cameo of the characters from the cartoon got a huge smile out of me as well.

Tell me you've never played a Bethesda game without telling me you've never played a Bethesda game. Quicksaving and fall damage go hand in hand with needing to revert to an earlier save file.

There is merit to the idea. Quicksave anywhere sounds great, until they softlock themselves because they keep quicksaving over the same slot. Or the easy mode they beg for allows them to steamroll over enemies, until they get to one that requires some sort of tactics or mechanics they never bothered to learn.

Related to dialogue. Person A starts giving explanation to Person B, then get in a car. Conversation picks up without missing a beat when they get out of the car.

When I worked at a theatre, my poor attitude (didn't put on a happy face when no guests were around) got me punished. The punishment was being taught the projection booth and having to be alone up there and not on the floor with the public. They would let me work on the floor if my attitude approved. Never worked the floor again for the next 6 years until the location got bought by another chain.

I remember several suspensions on 261 when Rush Limbaugh died. Posters were saying the same things about him that he said when RBG died and the chuds starting crying about civility and marking posts.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say to Joe Rogan, a "good" comedy is one where being gay/trans/a minority is the punchline and he is mad that it isn't acceptable anymore.

To be fair, cops refuse to enter a school when there is an actual shooter, so I guess they thought the students would know it wasn't real.

Witcher 3 Blood and Wine. There is a fairy tale land that would be a full DLC in any other game and here its an optional area depending on your approach to the main story.

Whats the point? It's just going to get 3 major mods from a bunch of sweaty butthurt nerds. 1) Make Ellie not a lesbian 2) Give Abby a complete makeover so she meets their standards 3) Don't kill off certain characters.

I don't know why I keep sitting on this game. Actually made a steam account so I could get Enemy Within on PC instead of dealing with PS3 issues on it.

I've played Xcom2 several times (continuing my same campaign), having a lot of fun with it, but keep getting distracted and moving onto something else.

My dad worked in a union. Their company caught a dude red-handed leaving to go for a motorcycle ride on company time and they immediately fired him. The matter went to arbitration for an entire year, ending with the employee getting re-hired and the company having to pay his salary back for the year he was unemployed. Because it was his first time getting in trouble they weren't allowed to fire him at the time according to the union rules.

I wouldn't say thats a union thing. When working at a theatre, we had a new employee pull out a joint and ask if anybody wanted to go out back and smoke it with him. (marijuana was still illegal in the state at the time). The other manager immediately told him he was fired and sent him home. We were informed later that that was improper and any decisions like that had to go through corporate and we inadvertently caused them a massive headache.

The way neuralink are going about it is horrifying. The technology itself has massive potential. Forgetting cyberpunk flimflam, if this can improve the quality of life for people with para- or-quadriplegia, its awesome.

Do you really think this will be used for those people though? We have people dying from diabetes because they can't afford to buy insulin. No way an average citizen would be able to pay for a neuralink surgery.

Hellpoint, the special enemies at certain intervals even kept the backtracking fresh.

That is one of those janky games that is still a blast to play. Had a lot of really cool ideas that made the game worth playing in spite of the flaws. Would love to see them smooth out the edges and give us a solid sequel.

The Hex based system? Yeah, but they changed it up a little bit by adding different configurations and obstacles that could block out a hex from being accessed.

I think it's best if there's an easy way to control them or some indicator when the random encounter will happen, like Etrian Odyssey. A toggle for it which games do also work for me.

Several of the Wild Arms did this, and it was pretty neat. You'd get an indicator before a battle and could cancel it. Like a green warning was free to cancel because the enemies were too weak or you would get a surprise attack. White cost X amount of energy (that you regained over time) for a normal encounter. Red you had to fight and meant enemy got the first attack.

The last game in the series also added a mechanic in dungeons where you could eventually find a switch to toggle random battles on/off in that area. Great for revisiting the area later when you have more tools to access new areas/items in earlier dungeons.

As a cashier, never step between a parent and their child's food order. It won't go well for you. Do chime in if the person ordering is clearly stoned. You can sell them so much stuff.

My newest pair are bifocals and it took a few days to adjust. It was suggested by the eye doctor that it was ok to switch to my old glasses when doing stuff like driving or walking down stairs until I got used to the new strength and dealing with bifocals in general. They weren't significantly stronger than my old pair, but the old ones were at least 10 years old by that point.
