That's because people aren't making enough money to cover their expenses comfortably. A ton of Americans have no savings at all, and that's because they never have any breathing room. Their monthly bills for strict necessities are 80%+ of their income, which leaves scarcely little room for car repairs, medical emergencies, etc.

Let alone purchases for entertainment or quality of life.

A situation that leaves people vulnerable to lies. Locals near me are convinced Trump will lower their living costs.

Section 230 was written expecting websites would be operated in good faith, moderating its own users without the need for legal intervention. But when a site breaches that trust, allowing hate and disinformation to flourish, what really can be done?

Im in central TX and have seen how known conservatives/Republicans interact with an elderly Jewish lady I help. As an anecdote, when we had that freeze a few years back, her best friends ex-husband and his new wife let her stay in their spare room because they still had power and she had no power or water. Even the only still-Trumper I know just repainted her house this year.

Ive never felt or seen animosity from the average ones. One of them even said to me recentlyactually, Ill post part of the conversation. Ill freely admit I was trying to screw with him when I found out Mexico is the closest place for women to go for legal clinical abortions (because it pissed me off). So I texted him some bait and this is eventually where the conversation went. Im not saying I agree with him at all, or his belief that the abortion law is an extremist reaction to extreme Dem laws (how he views 9 month abortions being legal). I think you have to put the film in its proper context. In 1989, when most people thought of Batman, they thought of the 1960s campy Adam West version. This Batman was the first one to bring a darker (comparatively) tone to the series and did it quite successfully. It was also one of the first big summer blockbusters that had huge merchandise tie-ins (games, books, toys, etc), and made a big splash within the culture. Everyone was wearing batman shirts, consuming batman media, the stuff was everywhere! There had never been anything like it except for maybe Star Wars.

It opens my eyes to hear this. Yeah, Batman's costume was too thick and bulky. I may even argue the TAS iteration of the theme song was better. But in the end, the movie succeeded where it counts by completely rejuvenating the character's image.

Biden originally considered himself a Republican, but ultimately joined the Democratic party because the GOP was too corrupt.

It's unfortunate how the GOP's depravity alienates moderates who would've otherwise been a neat fit.

Yang is not more left than Biden. He's a moderate who supports UBI, that's it. He actually opposes some taxes and social programs that Biden supports.

Watching a party unravel in slow motion has to be something else. Biden was around politics long enough to witness the GOP take its current form.

If this country was as left as people claim Bernie Sanders would have given Hillary a real run for her money back in 2016. We also had Yang run in 2020 and he was also more left than Biden but didn't get any momentum in his campaign.

This is a pretty common thought for most people. Seriously, it's the most basic statement that the average person will nod their head to.

You can make the point that you want him to make a comment about the Counter-Protestors and call them out specifically, but this statement he made is a generic, "whoever is protesting, be peaceful.

From a certain point of view, he's not off base. A peaceful protest isn't setting out SEEKING violence. But it doesn't have to roll over and let the authorities retaliate.
