boat number 4 was targeted

"Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said Friday he ordered a fourth strike on a small boat in the waters off Venezuela, according to a social media post.

In his post, Hegseth said our intelligence, without a doubt, confirmed that this vessel was trafficking narcotics, the people onboard were narco-terrorists, and they were operating on a known narco-trafficking transit route.

The strike comes less than a day after it was revealed that President Trump declared drug cartels to be unlawful combatants and declared that the United States is now in an armed conflict with them, according to a memo obtained by The Associated Press."

Israeli forces on Friday intercepted the last boat from an international flotilla trying to break Israels sea blockade of war-ravaged Gaza as cities around the world erupted into more protests against Israeli actions in Gaza and the arrests of some 450 activists who were on the boats.

A far-right Israeli minister confronted the detained flotilla activists, mocking their aid initiative and accusing them of supporting terrorism in a video that was circulating on Friday.

In Italy, workers and students took to the streets after the countrys largest unions called for a one-day general strike in solidarity with the Palestinians and the flotilla. Hundreds of trains were canceled or delayed, as were several domestic flights, and many private and public schools were closed.

The last boat
The last boat in the Global Sumud Flotilla, the Marinette, had been trailing behind the rest of the vessels and was still sailing on to the Palestinian territory in the early hours of Friday, a day after the Israeli navy stormed 41 other boats and detained the activists, saying they would be deported.
A livestream from the Marinette showed the moment Israeli troops boarded the vessel.

The flotilla, which was carrying a symbolic amount of humanitarian aid to Gaza, was the largest attempt so far to try and break Israels blockade of the Palestinian territory.

Israels interceptions started on Wednesday night and continued through Thursday as boat by boat was stopped off Gazas shore and the activists including Greta Thunberg, Nelson Mandelas grandson Mandla Mandela and several European lawmakers were detained.

Israeli authorities had warned the Marinette would be stopped too if it continued on its journey.
Among the activists detained were four Italian parliamentarians who were swiftly deported back to Rome on Friday. They were among the first known to have been flown out of Israel.

We had a very difficult night, now we must bring everyone home, Marco Croatti, an Italian opposition lawmaker, told journalists after landing in Rome from Tel Aviv.

President Donald Trump is openly embracing the conservative blueprint he desperately tried to distance himself from during the 2024 campaign, as one of its architects works to use the government shutdown to accelerate his goals of slashing the size of the federal workforce and punishing Democratic states.

In a post on his Truth Social site Thursday morning, Trump announced he would be meeting with his budget chief, Russ Vought, he of PROJECT 2025 Fame, to determine which of the many Democrat Agencies, most of which are a political SCAM, he recommends to be cut, and whether or not those cuts will be temporary or permanent.

The comments represented a dramatic about-face for Trump, who spent much of last year denouncing Project 2025, The Heritage Foundations massive proposed overhaul of the federal government, which was drafted by many of his longtime allies and current and former administration officials.

Israel orders Palestinians to leave Gaza City, saying those who stay will be considered militants

Israels defense minister on Wednesday ordered all remaining Palestinians to leave Gaza City, saying it was their last opportunity and that anyone who stayed would be considered a militant supporter and face the full force

At least 21 Palestinians were killed across the territory, according to local hospitals, as Hamas weighed a new proposal from U.S. President Donald Trump aimed at ending the war and returning the remaining captives taken in Hamas Oct. 7, 2023, attack that triggered it.

A senior Hamas official told The Associated Press that there are some points in the proposal that are unacceptable and must be amended, without elaborating. He said the official response will only come after consultations with other Palestinian factions.

This is the last opportunity for Gaza residents who wish to do so to move south, Defense Minister Israel Katz wrote on X. Those who remain in Gaza will be (considered) terrorists and terror supporters.

The road south was packed as Palestinians fled, with hastily loaded trucks and cars driving alongside people on foot carrying their belongings.

We left barefoot, Hussein al-Del said. The Israelis were striking at random, with no mercy for anyone. We left behind our food, our furniture, blankets, and everything. We left only with our souls, he said.

Around 400,000 Palestinians have fled famine-stricken Gaza City since Israel launched a major offensive last month aimed at occupying it, but hundreds of thousands remain, many because they cannot afford to leave or are too weak to make the journey to tent camps in the south.

In his surprise appearance in the White House press briefing room, Vance repeatedly tied Chuck Schumer, the Senate minority leader, to the far-left wing of the party and accused them of shutting down the government.

The Chuck Schumer/AOC wing of the Democratic Party shut down the government because they said to us, we will open the government but only if Republicans give billions of dollars of health care coverage to immigrants here illegally, Vance asserted. He was referring to Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y.

Vance said Democrats are taking essential federal government services hostage and added that our troops are not getting paid starting today because of the Chuck Schumer wing of the Democratic Party.

The vice president also argued that Schumer was taking this hardline stance because he was afraid of a potential primary challenge from Ocasio-Cortez. He is up for reelection in 2028.

countdown to when TSA agents stop showing up and create longer lines at airports

https://www.reuters.com/business/world-at-work/faa-would-furlough-11000-employees-us-government-shutdown-2025-09-30/

  • Air traffic controllers would keep working but not be paid
  • NTSB would still be able to launch new air accident investigations
  • Airline trade group warns shutdown will reduce efficiency, could impact travelers

The U.S. Transportation Department said on Tuesday more than 11,000 employees at the Federal Aviation Administration, about a quarter of its staff, would be furloughed if government funding lapses. U.S. airlines have warned that a partial federal government shutdown at midnight (0400 GMT) could strain American aviation and slow flights, as air traffic controllers and security officers would be forced to work without pay and other functions would be halted.

With an eye on keeping the skies safe, more than 13,000 current air traffic controllers would be required to continue working, but would not be paid until the shutdown ended, the FAA said. The FAA is about 3,800 controllers short of targeted staffing levels, but even if government funding is halted, the FAA would continue hiring and training air traffic controllers. During prior government shutdowns, the FAA suspended hiring and most training of air traffic controllers.

The National Transportation Safety Board said about 25% of its 400 employees would be furloughed but it would still be able to launch new investigations into air accidents and other incidents and continue its probe into the January 29 mid-air collision between an American Airlines (AAL.O), opens new tab
regional jet and Army helicopter that killed 67 people.

The NTSB will retain far more employees than during prior shutdowns when it had to furlough 90% or more of its workers. In 2019, the agency did not send investigators to 22 accidents because of the funding lapse. But it made the case to White House budget officials that it needed more personnel for critical functions. About 50,000 Transportation Security Administration employees who staff airport security checkpoints would also be required to keep working, but would not be paid.

In 2019, during a 35-day shutdown, the number of absences by controllers and TSA officers rose as workers missed paychecks, extending checkpoint wait times at some airports. Authorities were forced to slow air traffic in New York, which put pressure on lawmakers to quickly end the standoff.

U.S. Travel Association, which represents airlines, hotels, car rental firms and other travel companies, said a partial U.S. government shutdown would cost the U.S. travel sector $1 billion per week. The FAA has about 45,000 employees. In total, the Transportation Department would furlough 12,200 employees out of 53,717, including the FAA. The FAA said certification activities would continue for operational safety functions of commercial airplanes and engines, as well as commercial space launch oversight and licensing.

Trump calls for removing 'enemy from within'

Its the enemy from within and we have to handle it before it gets out of control, the president said. His remarks referred to criminals and immigrants who are in the country illegally.

https://apnews.com/article/trump-hegseth-generals-meeting-military-pentagon-0ecdcbb8877e24329cfa0fc1e851ebd2

President Donald Trump on Tuesday proposed using American cities as training grounds for the armed forces, with U.S. military might being deployed against what he described as the invasion from within.

Addressing an audience of military brass abruptly summoned to Virginia, Trump outlined a muscular and at times norm-shattering view of the militarys role in domestic affairs. He was joined by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, who declared an end to woke culture and announced new directives for troops that include gender-neutral or male-level standards for physical fitness.
The dual messages underscored the Trump administrations efforts not only to reshape contemporary Pentagon culture but enlist military resources for the presidents priorities and in everyday American civic life, including by quelling unrest and violent crime on city streets.

We should use some of these dangerous cities as training grounds for our military, Trump said. He noted at another point: Were under invasion from within. No different than a foreign enemy but more difficult in many ways because they dont wear uniforms.

Hegseth called hundreds of military leaders and their top advisers from around the world to the Marine Corps base in Quantico without publicly revealing the reason. His address largely focused on his own long-used talking points that painted a picture of a military that has been hamstrung by woke policies, and he said military leaders should do the honorable thing and resign if they dont like his new approach.

Though meetings between military brass and civilian leaders are nothing new, this gathering had fueled intense speculation about its purpose given the haste with which it was called and the mystery surrounding it. The fact that admirals and generals from conflict zones were summoned for a lecture on race and gender in the military showed the extent to which the countrys culture wars have become a front-and-center agenda item for Hegseths Pentagon, even at a time of broad national security concerns across the globe.

Sen. Jack Reed, the top Democrat on the Senate Armed Services Committee, called the meeting an expensive, dangerous dereliction of leadership by the Trump administration.

Even more troubling was Mr. Hegseths ultimatum to Americas senior officers: conform to his political worldview or step aside, Reed said in a statement. That demand is profoundly dangerous. It signals that partisan loyalty matters more than capability, judgment, or service to the Constitution, undermining the principle of a professional, nonpartisan military.

The Palestinian government in the occupied West Bank welcomes Trumps peace proposal

The Palestinian government issued a statement pledging to implement reforms called for in the proposal.
The State of Palestine welcomes the sincere and determined efforts of President Donald J. Trump to end the war on Gaza and affirms its confidence in his ability to find a path toward peace, the statement said.
Trumps plan calls for the Palestinian Authority to undertake a series of reforms in order to return to Gaza and potentially clear the way for the establishment of a Palestinian state.
We have affirmed our desire for a modern, democratic, and non-militarized Palestinian state, committed to pluralism and the peaceful transfer of power, the statement says.
It promised a series of reforms, including new elections and ending a system that pays the families of militants involved in attacks on Israelis.

Arab countries support Trumps peace plan announcement

In a joint statement, the foreign ministers of Egypt, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Qatar said they have confidence in Trumps ability to find a path to peace.
They also said they welcome his announcement of his proposal to end the war in Gaza and his comments that he will not allow Israel to annex the West Bank.
But the countries do not say they agree to its plan as fully presented. The ministers said they affirm their readiness to engage positively and constructively with the U.S. and other parties toward finalizing the agreement and ensuring its implementation.
In language that is much more definitive than Trumps proposal, the countries said theyre committed to a comprehensive deal that among other goals creates peace on the basis of the two state solution, under which Gaza is fully integrated with the West Bank in a Palestinian state.

The White House has released President Donald Trumps plan to end the Israel-Hamas war in Gaza.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he supported the plan following a meeting with Trump at the White House on Monday, but its unclear if Hamas will accept these terms.
Here is Trumps proposal, verbatim:

1. Gaza will be a deradicalized terror-free zone that does not pose a threat to its neighbors.
2. Gaza will be redeveloped for the benefit of the people of Gaza, who have suffered more than enough.
3. If both sides agree to this proposal, the war will immediately end. Israeli forces will withdraw to the agreed upon line to prepare for a hostage release. During this time, all military operations, including aerial and artillery bombardment, will be suspended, and battle lines will remain frozen until conditions are met for the complete staged withdrawal.
4. Within 72 hours of Israel publicly accepting this agreement, all hostages, alive and deceased, will be returned.
5. Once all hostages are released, Israel will release 250 life sentence prisoners plus 1700 Gazans who were detained after October 7th 2023, including all women and children detained in that context. For every Israeli hostage whose remains are released, Israel will release the remains of 15 deceased Gazans.

6. Once all hostages are returned, Hamas members who commit to peaceful co-existence and to decommission their weapons will be given amnesty. Members of Hamas who wish to leave Gaza will be provided safe passage to receiving countries.
7. Upon acceptance of this agreement, full aid will be immediately sent into the Gaza Strip. At a minimum, aid quantities will be consistent with what was included in the January 19, 2025, agreement regarding humanitarian aid, including rehabilitation of infrastructure (water, electricity, sewage), rehabilitation of hospitals and bakeries, and entry of necessary equipment to remove rubble and open roads.
8. Entry of distribution and aid in the Gaza Strip will proceed without interference from the two parties through the United Nations and its agencies, and the Red Crescent, in addition to other international institutions not associated in any manner with either party. Opening the Rafah crossing in both directions will be subject to the same mechanism implemented under the January 19, 2025 agreement.
9. Gaza will be governed under the temporary transitional governance of a technocratic, apolitical Palestinian committee, responsible for delivering the day-to-day running of public services and municipalities for the people in Gaza. This committee will be made up of qualified Palestinians and international experts, with oversight and supervision by a new international transitional body, the Board of Peace, which will be headed and chaired by President Donald J. Trump, with other members and heads of State to be announced, including Former Prime Minister Tony Blair. This body will set the framework and handle the funding for the redevelopment of Gaza until such time as the Palestinian Authority has completed its reform program, as outlined in various proposals, including President Trumps peace plan in 2020 and the Saudi-French proposal, and can securely and effectively take back control of Gaza. This body will call on best international standards to create modern and efficient governance that serves the people of Gaza and is conducive to attracting investment.
10. A Trump economic development plan to rebuild and energize Gaza will be created by convening a panel of experts who have helped birth some of the thriving modern miracle cities in the Middle East. Many thoughtful investment proposals and exciting development ideas have been crafted by well-meaning international groups, and will be considered to synthesize the security and governance frameworks to attract and facilitate these investments that will create jobs, opportunity, and hope for future Gaza.

11. A special economic zone will be established with preferred tariff and access rates to be negotiated with participating countries.
12. No one will be forced to leave Gaza, and those who wish to leave will be free to do so and free to return. We will encourage people to stay and offer them the opportunity to build a better Gaza.
13. Hamas and other factions agree to not have any role in the governance of Gaza, directly, indirectly, or in any form. All military, terror, and offensive infrastructure, including tunnels and weapon production facilities, will be destroyed and not rebuilt. There will be a process of demilitarization of Gaza under the supervision of independent monitors, which will include placing weapons permanently beyond use through an agreed process of decommissioning, and supported by an internationally funded buy back and reintegration program all verified by the independent monitors. New Gaza will be fully committed to building a prosperous economy and to peaceful coexistence with their neighbors.
14. A guarantee will be provided by regional partners to ensure that Hamas, and the factions, comply with their obligations and that New Gaza poses no threat to its neighbors or its people.
15. The United States will work with Arab and international partners to develop a temporary International Stabilization Force (ISF) to immediately deploy in Gaza. The ISF will train and provide support to vetted Palestinian police forces in Gaza, and will consult with Jordan and Egypt who have extensive experience in this field. This force will be the long-term internal security solution. The ISF will work with Israel and Egypt to help secure border areas, along with newly trained Palestinian police forces. It is critical to prevent munitions from entering Gaza and to facilitate the rapid and secure flow of goods to rebuild and revitalize Gaza. A deconfliction mechanism will be agreed upon by the parties.

16. Israel will not occupy or annex Gaza. As the ISF establishes control and stability, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) will withdraw based on standards, milestones, and timeframes linked to demilitarization that will be agreed upon between the IDF, ISF, the guarantors, and the Unites States, with the objective of a secure Gaza that no longer poses a threat to Israel, Egypt, or its citizens. Practically, the IDF will progressively hand over the Gaza territory it occupies to the ISF according to an agreement they will make with the transitional authority until they are withdrawn completely from Gaza, save for a security perimeter presence that will remain until Gaza is properly secure from any resurgent terror threat.
17. In the event Hamas delays or rejects this proposal, the above, including the scaled-up aid operation, will proceed in the terror-free areas handed over from the IDF to the ISF.
18. An interfaith dialogue process will be established based on the values of tolerance and peaceful co-existence to try and change mindsets and narratives of Palestinians and Israelis by emphasizing the benefits that can be derived from peace.
19. While Gaza re-development advances and when the PA reform program is faithfully carried out, the conditions may finally be in place for a credible pathway to Palestinian self-determination and statehood, which we recognize as the aspiration of the Palestinian people.
20. The United States will establish a dialogue between Israel and the Palestinians to agree on a political horizon for peaceful and prosperous co-existence.

Russia looking to see what they can get away with

Russian warplanes detected flying near Alaska for ninth time this year
U.S. fighter jets scrambled to identify and intercept four Russian warplanes flying near Alaska, the North American Aerospace Defense Command said Thursday.

Its the third time in about a month and the ninth time this year NORAD has reported such an incident involving Russian aircraft flying near Alaska. This latest incident happened Wednesday.
NORAD said in a statement issued early Thursday that it detected and tracked two Tu-95s and two Su-35s operating in the Alaskan Air Defense Identification Zone.

The incident comes after President Donald Trump said Tuesday he believed Ukraine could win back all territory lost to Russia, a dramatic shift from the Republicans repeated calls for Kyiv to make concessions to end Russias war in Ukraine.

NATO warned Russia on Tuesday it would use all means to defend against any further breaches of its airspace after the downing this month of Russian drones over Poland and Estonias report of an intrusion by Russian fighter jets last week.

Trump on Tuesday said NATO countries should shoot down Russian aircraft if they enter their airspace. Asked if the U.S. would back up NATO allies in such a situation, Trump said it depends on the circumstance.

Following a summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska last month, Trump said he was arranging for direct talks between Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. But Putin has shown no interest in meeting with Zelenskyy, and Moscow has only intensified its bombardment of Ukraine.

Nine U.S. aircraft an E-3 Sentry command and control aircraft, four F-16s and four KC-135 tankers scrambled to positively identify and intercept the Russian jets, NORAD said.
The Russian aircraft remained in international airspace and did not enter American or Canadian sovereign airspace, it said. Such Russian activity near Alaska occurs regularly and is not seen as a threat, it added in its statement.

Your legacy is genocide. The blood of the Palestinians is on your hands, the first one, a man wearing a medical mask, yelled before being escorted out by security. Later, another woman said, This is your fault.

jesus these people are goddamn morons. The vice president has no control over Israel. You want to protest dems fine protest Chuck or someone in power. They still won't touch a GOP event though

out of the blue Cruz is against the FCC

Dangerous as hell: Cruz blasts FCCs Jimmy Kimmel takedown
Sen. Ted Cruz on his podcast Friday admonished Federal Communications Commission Chair Brendan Carr for demanding ABC suspend Jimmy Kimmels late night show over comments regarding Charlie Kirk calling Carrs actions dangerous as hell and right out of Goodfellas.

If the government gets in the business of saying, We dont like what you, the media, have said; were going to ban you from the airwaves if you dont say what we like that will end up bad for conservatives, said the Texas Republican.

And while Cruz said he liked Carr and was thrilled to see Kimmels show taken off the air, he cautioned that leveraging the FCCs power to punish certain speech creates a concerning precedent that could leave conservatives vulnerable in a future Democratic administration.

They will silence us, said Cruz. They will use this power, and they will use it ruthlessly.
The comments are notable coming from Cruz both as a loyalist of President Donald Trump and as chair of the Senate Commerce Committee, which has oversight authority over the FCC.

He also joins other prominent GOP lawmakers warning about how the FCC wields its power, as Democrats continue to decry the pressure to suspend Kimmels show as a free speech violation.
Earlier this week, Cruz said at a POLITICO AI & Tech summit that the First Amendment absolutely protects hate speech, although he added that it doesnt make people immune from consequences from their employers.

During his Monday evening monologue, Kimmel said Republicans were trying to mischaracterize the background of Kirks killer for political points and compared Trumps reaction to the killing as that of a 4-year-old mourning a goldfish. ABC announced Wednesday he would be taken off the air following Carrs reprimand.

While Kimmel is the most high profile public figure so far to lose his job for how he characterized the Kirk assassination, multiple academics and a Washington Post columnist have also been let go as a result of their remarks.
