Looks good. I'd hate to see it wind up being short after waiting so long though. The DkS3 dlc for example was excellent (the ringed city is one of my absolute favorite dlcs), but both were super short and it kind of bugged me. The dlc region is supposed to be the size of Limgrave, which isn't too bad as long as it's filled with a lot of stuff to do.

Also hopefully this dlc gives us some answers for some of the main game's biggest questions. Kinda sucks to wait so long not knowing if they'll even address some major plot points they didn't bother to elaborate on in the main game.

I did a little digging. Seems there's few accounts of yasuke, but what there is is reference to him being given stipends and having the duty of carrying nobunagas swords. Both are samurai things specifically. Bit odd that there's not more history about him though.

He was a foreigner who gained some prominence due to having Nobunaga's favor. Once the latter was dead, I'm not sure anyone was left who cared about him, hence why he pretty much vanished from record.

As for the samurai thing, apparently during the sengoku period samurai was a term that was used more loosely to describe any warrior outside of conscripts, and he would be considered a samurai as Nobunaga's retainer. The whole samurai caste thing was later during the edo period. I'm not at all an expert on this kind of thing, it's just what I've read after looking into it a bit.

Always found him obnoxious and never liked his music either. Recent events make me like him even less.

"It is what it is." I was hearing this constantly from anti-vax relatives during the height of covid whenever I'd mention that refusing to take precautions could get other people sick or worse (I eventually caught covid from them too). Now it just immediately makes me angry whenever I hear someone say it. Always found it annoying though.

"Woke", "triggered", and "leftist" are so overused at this point (and almost always by legitimately terrible people) that they've lost meaning to me.

"Content creator" is another one that annoys me. It's just a pretentious way for someone to say that they make YouTube videos or post pictures of their ass online for a living.

Using "breed" or describing someone (always a woman) as "breedable" is something that I struggle to understand how someone can use and not feel like a fucking idiot.

Haven't seen a SoBe in years. Thought they were discontinued.

because it's aimless. there's no direction, there's no end goal. the og trilogy was a complete arc. the prequels, while shitty, were mostly a put together arc sort of.

the sequels had no point and didn't really go anywhere. what's the point of mandalorian besides looking cool because i don't know either? where is anything going right now, what even is the empire or the jedi right now? who knows but force powers and lightsabers everywhere anyway.

This unfortunately. I used to love star wars a lot, but pretty much every new entry feels like just another product off the conveyor belt. There's no point to any of it other than keeping the franchise going.

Given that The Crossed is absolute garbage, this also sounds like trash.

If you thought the original was bad, the other miniseries and ongoings managed to go even more overboard and double down on the excessive violence and whatnot.

The 40k fandom is like that sometimes. The meltdown some of them had over the whole girl Custodes thing was quite a sight to behold.

Yeah that was pretty pathetic. For one because 40k lore has been retconned repeatedly in major ways in the past, but also because the small bit of lore they were constantly referencing (about them being the sons of nobles of the imperium) didn't even apply to all of them. Just people being weird and dense for no reason.

Care to expand?

Everything with the Brotherhood and Maximus. Up until the last episode, the brotherhood stuff dragged the show down. They were corny as hell, from the characters' personalities to their dialogue. They were more like larpers than some serious organization. The last episode was a step in the right direction though.

As for Maximus, he's easily the worst character in the show. Nothing against the actor at all, but it seems like they didn't know what to do with him. He came across as a sociopath, with his constant lying, impulsiveness, and selfish tendencies. He lies to Thaddeus, then bungles the whole conversation where he admits the truth and then threatens to kill his "friend" after he does a piss-poor job of explaining things. They also took way too long to reveal that he didn't actually hurt Dane, which was a weird decision when the show still wanted to make him seem heroic as well. He was an immature idiot that the brotherhood had no reason to trust, especially when he returned with the wrong head. I half expected him to snap and wind up being an actual psycho.

Then there's the Enclave scientist getting away with something apparently super valuable (damn that turret sucked) and not having any one of them go after him. The Enclave are supposed to be a pretty big deal. Showing them to be super incompetent before they even play a larger part in the story was odd.

There are other things too, but it's getting late and I'm tired.

The average is pretty damn high though and if you only compare it to other video game adaptations it's considered pretty damn great. Just because every moment is not a fucking masterpiece of cinema or some shit doesn't mean it's bad, this is like playing a 40 hour video game and 1 hour of that 40 hours isn't the best and your like "Meh game!"

I mean most video game adaptations are notoriously bad because they're almost always half-assed, so in this case this show is better by default because they actually tried.

And not every scene has to be perfect. No show is perfect. But there's also no reason to ignore when a show has serious flaws, and this series has some big ones.

You asked her nicely to deal with her own clothes and then she gave you an attitude after you dried them for her because she did nothing for hours even though someone else needed to do laundry? Tell her to shut the fuck up and that she's a burden on your family- on you for having her shit in the machine all day, and on the rest of your household by being unemployed and contributing nothing despite being a college graduate. Basically an adaptation of Garth Ennis' The Crossed.

Is the movie really that graphic? I love Garth Ennis as a writer, but I won't even attempt to defend him with Crossed. That was just him being mean-spirited for the hell of it (which is something he's done regularly in career unfortunately).

6.5 out of 10 is still a ridiculous rating for such a great show.

Everyone has different opinions. The show was watchable, but I sure as hell wouldn't consider it great. There were several moments throughout where it was downright bad.

Kinda disappointed with the series but I'm still glad it was made and seems to be getting a lot of love. Hopefully this encourages Microsoft to get another game developed sometime this decade.

The first Bioshock is one of my favorite games, and Rapture was a delight to explore. It has some of the best level design I've seen in a game. I replayed it not too long ago, and while the gameplay is a bit rough, it was still enjoyable.

Bioshock 2 I've replayed about four or five times. The level design isn't as good (siren's alley and pauper's drop were cool), and by the end they're straight-up bad, but the gunplay is super fun and still holds up.

The story is..... unfortunately not as good, but I attribute that to the developers apparently being rushed to get a sequel out the door. The characters were all interesting, but I feel weren't utilized properly. Lamb started off as an intriguing character, and I liked how different she was from Ryan, but by the time the game comes to an end, she's just an obnoxious villain who's story falls flat. Sinclair kind of surprised me, given that he's presented as such a bastard in his logs and winds up actually being helpful and not backstabbing Delta at all. His arc ends a little too abruptly though.

I feel that 2 is a very underrated game, and with a longer development cycle could've been phenomenal. Still love it though and think it gets too much flak. Minerva's Den is one of the best DLCs I've played too.

Infinite fucking sucked though. Holy shit.

So would you like other non-DC or superhero recommendations, or are you only interested in that? Vertigo (still pissed DC pulled the plug on it) had some phenomenal titles. Image and Dark Horse as well. IMO the best comics are usually not from the Big 2.

Female custodes aren't a big deal and it doesn't really break the lore in any way either. People are just freaking out because they don't like change.

GW is doing what any business would do by trying to appeal to as large an audience as possible. Hell, the only reason astartes are all male is because the male demographic was their main audience for a long time. That's it. The lore changes and certain factions are given a bigger focus depending on the products they'd like to push and what actually sells. That's always been the case. All the overreacting is just pathetic.

Superman: Birthright might be something you like, TC. It's very light on action, but does a really good job of exploring Clark's personality and motivation. It's the comic that changed my mind on Superman and made me love the character.

Things like this are horrifying, and I can't imagine it happening to a loved one. I don't think I'd be able to live with myself if I pulled the plug on them, but I also wouldn't want them to suffer needlessly if they couldn't recover.

The ending to Justified was one of the better TV events I can remember.

Yeah it's now expected of every pitcher to consistently throw over 90mph. It's an extremely unhealthy standard, to the point where tearing your UCL is pretty much guaranteed to happen, and any time a young pitcher comes up who hasn't gotten Tommy John surgery, everyone's just waiting for the inevitable injury and hoping it happens sooner rather than later.

Meanwhile physical laborers have to actually earn the moniker. If you work a physically demanding job, such as transmission rebuilding, and you absolutely slam all day to keep up with the workload, but then you take an extra five minutes on your break or only work your expected shift your boss is going to call you lazy. Remember, he came in an hour early and didn't take his breaks today as he answered calls and emails. He worked harder.

I fucking hate people like this. My supervisor is like this and called me lazy because I didn't want to work any more mandatory overtime. We were told on a Thursday afternoon that we'd have to work that Saturday and Sunday. I wound up having to cancel my plans for the weekend.

For me it seems I just have to keep watching mine. They seemingly permanently logged my miles wrong (which affects my premium), and last year they added 5,000miles to the log for no reason, and when I filled it again, I couldn't, because I was still under that last posting.

I have no idea why mine went up as much as it did, and this isn't the first time this has happened.

I'm pretty much convinced that the loyalty discounts are useless. They give the best rates to new policy holders and then slowly jack up the rates.

Yeah my driving record is pretty much flawless and I've been with the same company for years and my rates have never been higher.

I'm trying to change my car policy because it's increasing by $250 for some reason for the next 6 month policy period even tho I've never been in an accident and have been driving for 15 years.

I was in a similar situation. My car insurance just went up by well over $100 (6-month policy) for no goddamn reason, and I didn't get my bill until right before I left on vacation. Didn't have the chance to shop around before I left and the next payment was due.

Roland was my favorite character, and he's so miscast here that my interest was killed from the get-go. Also Brick and Mordy should have been part of the cast. In BL2 I found Tina obnoxious most of the time, and Krieg's psycho shtick got old real quick, so them taking the place of the other two sucks. They could have just made an animated movie to take advantage of the cel-shaded look of the games. I'd love to be wrong, but this looks like shit.

Washing dishes is the worst part of cooking, but washing them as you go helps prevent a huge pile at the end. Cooking after coming home from work sucks, because by the time you're done cleaning, you really aren't going to get around to doing much else. But depending on how many people you're cooking for, you can always try to prepare enough food for a couple of days, limiting how much you have to cook throughout the week.

Debra Wilson's a really fucking talented actor and doesn't get enough love.

Dunk & Egg is getting a tv adaptation, and Martin already confirmed he'd be involved with that as well as writing more novellas. Winds isn't coming out anytime soon.
