Not really a fan of their food tbh. They tend to keep their ingredients in the rawest state possible. Its like getting gourmet food made by Smeagol.

Fair!! Either that or we tend to ferment the everloving hell out of it...natto always comes to mind. I fucking hated it as a kid

Oh hey, the perfect topic for me. I'm haafu, so I might end up rambling a bit about my favorite dishes hahaha.

My mom makes this thing called 'omuretsu-modoki' which basically translates to 'replacement-omelet'. It's seasoned ground beef with onions, nutmeg, garlic, fried in a big wok, and then we pour scrambled egg on top so it hardens into a sort of pie-kinda shape. We cut it into triangles and eat it with rice n some veggies. It's simple and really fuckin' tasty.

Lotus root (renkon) is another contender...it's crunchy, and when you cook it properly in a frypan with soy sauce and mirin and maybe a bit of sugar, it's so delicious. More of a side-dish rather than a main thing, but I could eat it every day and never tire of it.

Snack-wise, I really enjoy umeboshi, especially the ones with honey. So salty and sour but also sweet, and it's got this super intense flavour that can straight up never be replicated. I really like warabimochi too, it's perfect for summer.

Final dish I'll write about is daikon miso soup. I don't know what it is about daikon but I go insane for it. Yeah it kinda smells like cabbage when you cook it, and you can always tell when your neighbor's been cooking it, but it's SO freaking good in any way you prepare it. In miso soup is my favourite though, with some green onions and maybe a bit of tofu...

I'm glad this topic was posted. It gave me a chance to wax poetic about the food I like :-P

Zonking out every evening and playing Earthbound till my head went numb. It was awesome.

Hell yeah. I'd have to specify that I'd like to be a house-cat, though...I don't think the thrill of feral life would suit me. I'm content to be a silly little guy who sleeps on top of the TV set.
