as for Noctis, I haven't played FFXV, but he is the most boring character in Brotherhood -- all he does is sleep, brood, and sulk. even in his childhood flashbacks, "brood" and "sulk" are his two main modes. hopefully he's better in the actual game

imo timjab is a strong argument for why mods should be lenient on flaming/offensive/etc.

timjab is often violently abrasive and insulting and I'm not defending that. but he also provides a unique perspective and a lot of knowledge. if there's a topic discussing, say, a traffic stop gone bad, then I WANT timjab in the discussion to explain (a) the legal rules in play and (b) the likely disciplinary procedures the cop is going to face. probably this will come with some potshots at people he disagrees with, but I'd rather have that than lose his perspective entirely. (and I mean, people take potshots at him constantly so it's not a one-sided thing)

Add Leaders to most popular boards. The idea here is that a lot of larger boards feel like we don't really pay special attention to them when we should. What we would do here is somehow allow for these communities to nominate one or more Leaders (who would of course be vetted by us as well before being accepted). These Leaders would not be moderators themselves but they would be liaisons for that board with quick access to the ears of myself and the rest of the team (think a Leader board or something) to bring concerns or whatever else from their community directly to us and vice versa. We could also look into possibly giving them some basic tools as well, like the ability to make a sticky topic on their board.

imo she can't jump across gaps, but she's a minifig, one of her teammates can easily carry her in a pocket or something. But she's also useless for combat except for debuffs/curaga.

But yeah I agree that respawning Rizers have the advantage without Lightning here. Also invisible FF4 mages can do work with their first spell -- they should be able to get off a high-level spell each. Their tanks are super nerfed but I expect them to physically meatshield well enough for the back line to get off a Holy/Flare/etc.

Admittedly I only played halfway through P3, but I never understood the Aigis hype. The cast felt standard jrpg level -- not bad, but on par with Cecil or Crono -- and Aigis didn't stand out from the pack. Standard 3/week stuff. I can understand bumping Aigis up to 4 because she's a ~robot~ with ~guns~ instead of a human with fists, but I really don't get 5.

I feel like the match is significantly closer than trdl is giving it credit for. Like, 1 flying parkour Master Chief > 1 Rizer. But 6 Rizers >> 1 flying parkour Master Chief, even taking into account that they spawn one at a time.

I would also take the FF4 party over Lightning, pretty decisively. Four healers is legit. They can afford to have a couple entirely dedicated healers if they wish. They also have plenty of people to cast and renew buffs/debuffs. With Lightning being just one person and primarily melee and afflicted with debuffs, I can't see her winning that damage race. Granted she is super agile, so she'll take a while to defeat; but she'll go down eventually.

The only thing that's giving me pause is that the matchups aren't going to be quite so neat; and, in particular, I give Team Lightning a lot more cred to deal with bullets than Team FFIV. But on the other hand I am also skeptical about Master Chief-style armor holding up against high-level magic spells.

Think I'm going with my gut on this one and Team FFIV
