Why is it, if the body and the brain disagree on what the person is, some people think the body takes precedence. Am I talking to hands right now, or, am I talking to a brain, a mind? If you believe in it, a soul?

That's not what I'm saying at all. I mean, last week my son was upset because he thought the sun was going to disappear from the eclipse. I explained it to him and he ended up thinking it was cool. He's the same age as these kids. Just because a kid doesn't immediately get something doesn't mean it is inappropriate to teach them. As the article pointed out, other kids got it just fine.

The reason this is a problem is because a lot of parents either hate transgender people or are too inept to handle comprehending their existence well enough to actually talk about them and get pissy when a school runs the risk of making their kid less of an idiot than they are.

Some parents hate a lot of things like their kids having sex before marriage. Should abstinence be taught and not safe sex?

well, my kindergarten teacher taught us all how to hotwire a car, and we were thankful for it. :u And we weren't tattles like these kids were. She explicitly told us not to tell our parents, and to only do it if we were really in trouble.
