Hi, just here to say that you didn't need to put an "again" at the end of the sentence. It makes it sound more complicated because the original phrasing already made what you meant clear.

The issue I have with the writer was that he still waited for his parents to die before ever trying to make amends. It's not like he was a kid the entire time. But I understand it too as awful as it is. It's hard to betray family even if others suffer.

The kid did an amazing job as an adult, he learned to forgive his mother and appreciate her for who she was, with all her flaws, and actually took Lola to see her family, Lola was like his grandmother and you can see he loved her. I think he is a spectacular human being, I don't know how you people can't see that. What would you guys even have done?

Wow, family sounds like a piece of shit all around. It's a shame his reprehensible parents never received the punishment they so very deserved.

His mom got lots of diseases, Liet. Tom died shortly after, and I'd be surprised if the father wasn't dead in some ditch from the lifestyle he lived. For me, that's punishment, not some manmade prison.
The kid was great and he did try to stand up for Lola, it just didn't work. This isn't a movie.

Lol. Here's $200 a month. Hope it makes up for the years of mindless work, lack of education, and entire life without sex or intimacy. How heartwarming.

The whole thing is a f***ing disgrace.

Did you even read the story? He was honoring Lola's wishes, Lola didn't want to drive, she didn't want independence, what do you do with a person like that? Put her out of the house and she'll be living in the streets in less than a week, I think she was living the life she knew and had grown to enjoy, stop being narrowminded.

Like, they don't really deserve anything when it comes to this project, and if they wanted to actively participate on it, that's their own responsibility. YOU had to get things done, because this is important to you. Clearly this isn't important to them, otherwise they would have tried to help.

If it's just about getting a better grade, I don't think you should tell. From what I understand from my time in college, grades are useless in the project-oriented classes, what matters is coming out it with a good portfolio.

It is mainly about getting a better grade to be honest. However, both the project and final are big portions of our grades, and I feel that doing all of the project took time away from me that I couldve been studying. Also, considering that up until this point I've only done average on tests, and considering that the final and project are combined worth 55% of our grade, its possible that I can get below a C (C is the min for credit at my uni) and its important that I get every pt I deserve

Well, I hope you pass, whatever you end up doing, good luck.

Dont tell.
Solve it "in house"

Let your group know how fucked up it is to do that to someone.

Learn from this experience. If you the only one who cared, why is that? Maybe youre a natural leader and decent leaders know how to manage time and efforts of their team.

Group leaders need to establish deadlines right away and stick with them. Group leader needs to step up otherwise, something like this happens. It takes time and effort to get projects done. Nothing replaces that. Who cares who did what. You all deserve the grade you get. Dont be the person who covers for themselves because you did what youre supposed to do. This was a group project and your group failed. You need to figure wtf happened and figure out how to motivate your team to getting the project done. Itll take coodination, compromise, and the combined effort.

Was this a last minute thing? Give yourself and your group more time next time to get things done. If you were the last ditch effort, why? Answer this and get with those who will get the job done next time. Theres no excuse for group project participation.

Theres a time to lead and follow. Objectively contributing to your group is a means to accomplish the tasks or projects. You will be taking on various roles throughout your academic and employment career. Know that good leaders are also good followers. Teams/groups are recognized foe their production and people will find individuals who to distinguished for the team/group success.

Ultimately, this project was supposed to share what you learned and use the combined effort to do the project efficiently and effectively. Remember this purpose next time.

I agree wholeheartedly with this answer.

Michael Bay is the obvious one.

Is he? You can't say his films don't bring in the cash. All 4 Transformers films made money and engergized a failing toy line. I'd argue with every choice that guy makes in a film, but you can't say that he doesn't succeed in where he chooses to invest his efforts. Hasbro cant stop throwing money at the guy.

Yes, he is. He may bring in money but that doesn't change the fact that he's a straight up hack at what he does. His films will never win any awards except for Razzie's.

I completely disagree, his movies are very well shot, they have great action sequences, he knows how to tell a story. His movies are basic, yes, but he is very good at what he does, even if what he does isn't what you'd call cinematic art. I'm not a fan of his, I haven't watched any of the Transformers movies, I only really enjoyed The Island... and Bad Boys is one of the best action comedies of the past few years. He has a lot of merit, imo. There are a lot of people who try to be as good as he is at filming a fast paced tense action sequence and they fall short. You can't say he doesn't have talent, because it's not just anybody who can make the kind of movies he makes, no matter what budget they have.

TopicWhat does John 12:24 mean?
Mister_Spyker
05/01/17 11:15:25 AM

Well, I find it to be a bit deeper than this.

23 Jesus replied, “The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified. 24 Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds. 25 Anyone who loves their life will lose it, while anyone who hates their life in this world will keep it for eternal life.

From my understanding, Jesus is not only talking about his own death on our behalf, reconciling us to God, but given the next few verses he is actually talking about how we ourselves are to also die that we might bring forth much fruit. See, this is spread throughout all the gospel, "whoever would follow me, must first deny himself" "We died and we've been raised with Christ in his resurrection" there's this idea impregnated in the whole message that you have to die, if you want to be born again, it's what baptism means, you are dying to yourself and to everything that you were before you came to know Jesus, and you are being resurrected by the power of his resurrection, it's a supernatural thing. Romans talks about us being buried in baptism -
Romans 6:4 We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.

Now what he's saying in John is that if we would only live unto ourselves and not die in this fashion, denying ourselves and following Jesus, we would just be another seed that never really reaches it's potential to become a fruit-bearing tree. We'll dry up in the ground and just "abide alone".
