Meditating while driving isn't particularly safe, especially when you're "imagining the air is aware of you.", fairly sure saying that shit would get you hit with a DUI.

I'm trying to comprehend looking inward rather than outward while driving. Not the smart option, probably texting or watching TV while driving is safer.

Meditating while working does explain some of the apparently braindead customer service reps I've had on the phone lately.

It depends on what she likes. Different women like different things. What is she carrying now?

For everyday, I like a big roomy slouch bag with a good shoulder strap. On vacation, I like a smaller messenger bag. Nightclubbing, a clutch bag is enough. RenFest, a woven drawstring bag, to avoid anachronism. Just a fanny pack when I'm golfing.

I mostly like a long shoulder strap so my hands are free. Some women like handbags with handles, or clutches, or shorter straps. Some women color-coordinate with their outfit or shoes. Some women like brand names with logos or medallions.

Back to: what does she carry now?

I'm not from Texas, I was just using the article as an example. My state has never really had a knife length limit, but people here kept trying to tell me that didn't mean I could carry a sword, which is basically a really long knife. I was using the article to disprove that claim.

That being said, for some reason or another, I've never seen a person carry a sword here. They probably just assume it's illegal or something.

Most people don't get arrested for specific crimes, they get arrested for acting stupid in public, the arresting officer figures out the crime later. Carrying a sword for no reason certainly qualifies as "creating a disturbance", at the least, and will get you arrested. .

Since you don't have a sword, you can test this by going out in public carrying a baseball bat, or a live chicken, or dressed as Spiderman, and seeing how long it takes to attract attention.

Unless you are carrying your gear from your car to a class, show, or exhibition, why would you even want to carry a sword?

As a symbol of my "kingship", my noble destiny.

Kings wear funny hats to show their kingship. Look at any chess set.

I'm not a princess, or a Shaolin nun, just a dancer and martial artist. My swords are not symbols of anything, just tools.

Unless it's part of your job, I don"t know why anyone would want to carry a gun, either. Guns are fun, shooting is a challenging art, but for casual carrying around?

Code in what language? What will be helpful in the future? BASIC was the big thing in schools in the 80's. Not very useful now. Good for flow logic, I guess.

In grad school, I learned to punch cards for FORTRAN to do multivariate analysis on a DEC VAX ring. Mainframes with keypunch machines and card readers were state-of-the-art.

Kids would have been better served in the 80s with a general knowledge of applications in word processing, database, spreadsheets, etc.

What privilege do we have that no other race has?

Taking it for granted that when you’re shopping alone, you probably won’t be followed or harassed.

Knowing that if you ask to speak to “the person in charge,” you’ll almost certainly be facing someone of your own race.

Being able to think about different social, political or professional options without asking whether someone of your race would be accepted or allowed to do what you want to do.

Assuming that if you buy a house in a nice neighborhood, your neighbors will be pleasant or neutral toward you.

Feeling welcomed and “normal” in the usual walks of public life, institutional and social.

What is white privilege? It’s the level of societal advantage that comes with being seen as the norm in America, automatically conferred irrespective of wealth, gender or other factors. It makes life smoother, but it’s something you would barely notice unless it were suddenly taken away — or unless it had never applied to you in the first place.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/post-partisan/wp/2016/01/16/white-privilege-explained/

Sorry, I live in a Midwest US city. Mayor is Black. City Council is Black. Big events are Black -themed. When I shop, I'm usually the only White in the store. Police Chief and half of police officers are Black. Utility workers are Black. Store clerks are Black. 75% of my neighbors are Black.

White Privilege? A myth, unless I'm okay with living in a small town, far from jobs, stores, universities and colleges, and theaters. .
