This didn't really help my dislike of Austin because I was on Bret's side that entire fued. I felt really bad for Bret because he was getting screwed time and time again and then here comes this annoying ass drunkard spewing bs that hasn't had to deal with what Bret was going through. Then to top it off, gets beat by Bret in a submission match at Wrestlemania 13 and then plays it off like it's nothing. Then of course the WWF starts to give him a major push, and they decided to turn Bret into a semi bad guy. It probably helps because I really didn't like Austin during his early years. Every one of these Rumbles aside from 1991, where he was never in any real peril, he's been a dick. In 1989 and 1992 he's a sore loser and tries to eliminate the guy who eliminated him. In 1989 and 1990 he "inadvertently" eliminates his allies Savage and Warrior as they're fighting guys when they'd saved him when he was fighting guys. In 1990 Ventura points this out and is completely right at that as he eliminates Warrior and it's like... it kinda really makes you appreciate Hogan more. I've always liked Hogan, even though it's always fun to hate on Hogan as well. However, I gotta say knowing as much about the behind the scenes stuff as I do now, it's hard to imagine that his actions during those Rumbles were scripted and that wasn't just his real nature coming out. --- 1st Year OMG Link Always Wins. 2nd Year OMG FF7 Always Wins. 3rd Year OMG Link Always Wins. 2101st Year OMG CATS Always Wins. |
