Well, it's doubtful that she's making up direct quotes from this letter, and the fact that the response from Joss's camp was "There is some misinformation in here" is kind of damning that, at the very least, most of this is true.

Pretty sure it's him making millions of dollars after saying he's a feminist and fighting for their values in media and then with his wife psychologically torturing her and demeaning her values by lying about what he was doing so he could continue to cheat on her.

Like, he can still be a feminist and want to fight for better female inclusion in media, but it becomes really hollow when he's had 15 years of doing this to his wife. Were he to just, say, cheat on his wife and say "I fucked up I'm so sorry" it's one thing, because it's not knowingly lying and repeatedly lying to his wife each time she confronted him suspecting something. That's what hurts his image as a feminist icon trying to empower women everywhere.

Really?

She starts out as a mysterious badass who stood out so far above everyone else because she just killed people, smirked with her crazy eyes, and didn't bother ever having to talk, and anytime she did talk is was smirk, say a few words, and she oozed confidence.

Now she's just some random chick who wears colored contacts who will tell people how super serious she is about beating people and has video packages about how she's so disappointed that she got an injury and lost her chance at a title win. There is absolutely nothing to her character at all now and hasn't been for a long time except for a win streak and hype. She doesn't have half the charisma and intrigue she did when she debuted.

She's good at wrestling, no doubt, but in anything but wrestling she comes across as just another chick who tries too hard at trying to be cool. There is literally nothing she does that breaks her out of the pack other than her super sick finisher. Otherwise I would rather watch anyone else, regardless of how good she is.

The second that she came out during a pre-show with a t-shirt on and started talking like "Oh, well you know I'm just looking forward to watching the matches to see these girls go out there and put on a great show" her character was dead.

Even more important, why not give Ember the rub?

The only answer I have is that it's more of a shock if she debuts after the title is stripped instead of debuting with it.

And that Ember Moon should not have been the one to beat Asuka because Ember Moon is such a total utter lamer in comparison. It still blows my mind how much they've messed up Ember.

I feel bad for the people who worked on it, but this game deserves it. I'm glad a rushed sequel game full of bugs finally got destroyed and burned the company. It teaches a lesson to stop doing that crap. Like, Street Fighter V did the same thing and while Marvel vs Capcom Infinite has a bunch of unrelated issues with it, the one thing they did was learn and take feedback from all the people who dumped on their game to make sure they didn't make the same mistakes.

I do think it's a bit unfair to crack on Roman only for last night. He and Joe basically did the same thing.

Roman punched, did the spear, and did the Samoan drop
Joe choked, and did like, one or two other moves

But 90% of their offense was the punch and choke

Yeah, Joe underwhelmed, but I think the choke is a lot more exciting than Roman's silly punches since there's a lot more drama involved. So it's like, if something exciting is happening and Joe interrupts it with a choke, then it's oh shit, he's choking him out! Is he going down!? Will he break out!? How will he escape!? When Roman interrupts with a punch he either continues to punch people or goes to his little corner and howl to prepare for a Spear. There's like no drama there or excitement. Doing that literally ends the excitement.

Roman's role in every single multi-person match is to be the buzz kill. He stops other people from doing cool stuff just by running up and punching them. And it wouldn't be so noticeable if they didn't have Roman in multi-person matches so often.

Ah, well we normally don't ever hear or listen to the commentary at our parties anyway because we're all talking as we watch and whatnot. So if they did, we still would have missed it explained probably.

Like clockwork though, when we get quiet for a second, Booker T says something ridiculous that we'd laugh at!

Oh, and one other note from last night. With that Enzo stuff with him taking forever to get out of the shark cage, when he got his body out, I said "I bet he's going to drop down and immediately be kicked in his head." And then he was! We all died laughing. I think all of us who actually watch wrestling a decent amount are pretty over Enzo. WWE buried him so hard so constantly and his promos are kind of annoying now. It's clear they're never ever going to do anything positive with him now, and I would be absolutely fine with him getting released because of that, sad as it is.

The thing is that with Roman in this multi-person matches, he gets exposed every single time. While people do cool stuff and we're into them, he just runs up and interrupts everything with a jumping punch and that's fucking lame.

I think the issue is that Roman just overuses the Superman Punch, and it's not even impressive to begin with. And how many times did he do his how spot before a Spear attempt last night? The dude could stand to get a real moveset by now.

I took my girlfriend to the SummerSlam party we always have, and it was her first experience watching wrestling as a kid. We didn't talk about Roman at all until he came out except to tell her he's the baby face and her reaction was "I'm supposed to like him? He looks dirty and greasy." We then explained he is supposed to be the next John Cena and she refused to believe us.

That feels very indicative of how Roman gets perceived by a lot of people. She also wondered why he just kept punching people.

Oh, and concerning Sasha and Alexa, she really liked them both. She liked Alexa more though entirely because she's short like her and is from Ohio like her. But I mean, I think to women, most of the female wrestlers sort of appeal to them. She thought Nattie was a badass but loved everything about Naomi.

I think for people who know literally nothing, wrestlers appeal in very different ways. Like, she had no clue what was going on technically, but the spots were on point for her, even if for us it was kinda meh at times. Like, a few of us were bitching about how Sasha just had her arm worked over super hardcore but still was able to continue trying to apply the Bank Statement as though her arm was 100%. But she didn't care about that and just thought it was all cool.

It's weird. She loved Braun though, because he's fucking Braun good damn he gets all the ladies loving him too.

Anyway, not watching Raw is really helpful for not giving a shit who won the fatal four-way. I'd probably be pissed about the part timer winning again, but since I don't watch it, I don't have a reason to care about that! The Raw women's division is also a total dumpster fire and has been for a while, and they refuse to even make any girls but Sasha, Nia, and Alexa look decent, so there's absolutely no point in caring. I'd be happy if Alexa was away from the title for a while and maybe had a feud with Mickie or even Nikki Bella or something. But only because I'd like to see something new and interesting happen.

Also disappointed that Samoa Joe still seems like a total after thought in everything, despite how hard he's been killing it with stuff they give him. He just has no faith booking in him as a serious main eventer despite everything he does making him look like such a main eventer when they give him a chance.

But I mean, Smackdown stuff is still pretty entertaining so I'm happy with it.

So I have just learned that my girlfriend's high school mascot has been forced to be changed in light of recent events. Their mascot was a Confederate named the "Rebel".

I asked her why her mascot was a Confederate when she lived in the most northern point of Ohio. Her reply was that their rival school was Eastlake North.

Braun did pick up a lot when he left the Wyatts. Like, he learned fuck all it seemed with the Wyatts because he just came in a tag match, did his spots, then called it a day. When he was working solo on Raw, he was forced into singles matches and routinely worked with guys like Sami Zayn, and Sami is a nice enough of a dude to probably meticulously explain everything to Braun and actually help him learn this wrestling thing.

I think the difference between Braun and Corbin is that Braun doesn't need to do nearly as much. But he seems to get how to work a crowd much better. Meanwhile, Corbin knows how to fill time with trash talk, but he doesn't get how to actually work a crowd without just yelling at them. That, and Corbin's moveset is absolutely pitiful and bad. I think I mentioned that back during one of his more recent awful matches. But that actually seems like the case for like, every home grown guy from the Performance Center now. Absolutely no moveset. I don't get that.

Eh, it's different for Corbin. Corbin's a blockhead who murders people dead all the time. So he'll viciously destroy someone and we'll all go "Oh hey, that big stupid Corbin is still a threat."

The only way Corbin is done is if his program with Cena tanks. Because if you can't look good with Cena, then you can't look good with anyone, frankly. And Cena is the type of guy that would let Vince know if someone can't hang with him.

Nah, he's not that dead. He's still going into a program with John Cena. Granted, if he stinks it up in the ring with John Cena, the dude is certainly dead.

I think Corbin has some upsides, but I would argue that his downsides, coupled with the fact that the writers just can't get the dude right, really makes him hard to see as a credible champion.

At least Jinder looks the part. Corbin without the shirt is just... man. I know we don't get other big guys flack, but Corbin might have the least impressive body for a guy they want to push out of anyone. I don't know why he doesn't put more work into his abs or something.

The delivery of his promos are good.

All I know is that there's not a single feud anymore that I want Wyatt too be involved with. I always felt that the Wyatt Family could have been so much more, but they never actually actualized it. Bray could still be even more if anything he did made any kind of sense. Like red paint? Really? Creepy stuff he does has to have purpose and a proper atmosphere. Bray Wyatt tossing a can of what I guess was supposed to be blood onto Finn Balor and giggling while he flopped around in a fully lit wrestling ring doesn't work.

Indy wrestling promotors are awful. That is the end all be all of it. They are terrible. I have a ton of stories from the Pittsburgh/Wheeling area independent shows I've been to and insider information on the ideas and thought that goes into it. If anyone is interested, I could probably share some.

I don't think the people freaking out during game and saying 'good game' are therefore bad as a result... they're just used to playing alone and not with others. You don't really think of the guy on the screen as being a person, and you're probably super-competitive. That doesn't mean you're not genuinely trying to be sportsmanlike afterward.

I don't think they were bad people, just really, really weird and socially disturbed. When I say freaking out, I mean yelling and whining while people would just sit there in awkward silence after they won, side-eying this crazy person. And I know they're trying to be sportsmanlike but it's just kind of funny. And when it happened at both of the ones we went to, we chalked it up to Smash community being full of nuts.

Why can't smash tournaments just have nice normal people who want to play the game and enjoy it? I feel like some of these guys are so uptight that they have to resort to ledge camping because they know some idiot will fall for it and they'll win and that's all that really matters to them, and when they lose their life is over. Also, why can't the tournament host just make the players play the bracket?

Any Smash tournament I've been to has had a lot of obnoxious and terrible people there. They get so butthurt when they lose and just scream and shout, and then turn around trying to act cool and go "Hey, good game." Like, it was so bad at one me and my buddy went to that to this day we still, when losing something, have a fake freakout and then reach out to shake each other's hand and go "Hey, good game."

Smash people are weirdos. Did they also try to meme stuff there too? There was one fellow who would constantly scream "HAMMER OF JUSTICE!" each time he did a forward smash with Dedede. I wanted him deceased.

Tbh, the only thing that makes shows seem long is the content! Just because RAW usually burns us doesn't mean three hours is too long! But they definitely need to spread RAW and Smackdown apart in the week. The Monday/Tuesday thing is painful for five hours, let alone six.

Does anyone else feel like Smackdown should be longer?

I know, I know. Fuck long shows. I totally understand. But every week on Smackdown, they just have something disappearing. Like what happened to Aiden English this week? What happened to Mike & Maria vs Sami Zayn? Where was Nakamura? Where was Gable? Where was Becky? Sometimes Fashion Police is missing. Sometimes Lana/Tamina is missing. For the longest time even Tye Dillinger was missing. Where have the Hype Bros been after Zack Ryder came back? Where are Harper and Rowan? Dolph Ziggler is missing too.

There's a lot of stuff that goes in and out of Smackdown a lot of times, mostly in the undercard, and it's really unfortunate that it makes the undercard suffer a lot as a result. But what's going to be really bad is when a lot of these guys come back, where will they have the time for it? Who disappears after then? I don't think Smackdown will suck with more time because they usually manage to make entertaining segments and matches (though to RAW's credit, I've heard the shows are much better lately). It just seems like Smackdown has the same size roster as RAW (if you take out the Cruiserweights who get anywhere from 5-15 minutes screen time total each week anyway), but Smackdown has a lot less time to do with them. I really feel that they could use some extra time in their show.

In other news, the guy who was suspended from fox for sending lewd texts to female colleagues is suing the Huffpost reporter who did the investigating, not Huffpost itself. He's being represented by the same law firm that dear leader uses. I figure it'll be a hard case for him because he'll have to prove first that no texts of that manner have been sent, and two, that the reporter knew that he was providing false info. Discovery should be a fun time.
