Seginustemple 04/07/17 5:09:55 PM #37 | It's art. Probably not very good art, but art none the less. What gets me is that the 'trigger warning' people tend to fancy themselves the creative/artistic type, but they have this notion that art shouldn't be provocative or upsetting. |

Seginustemple 04/05/17 7:57:08 PM #47 | scarletspeed7 posted... I think the point of my statement is that planning for your empty retirement instead of bettering the world in some way is the problem. Why do children have a bearing on that? You can better the world without having kids and you can have kids without bettering the world. |
Topic | Those of you b8'ers that don't want children..... |
Seginustemple 04/05/17 7:28:49 PM #44 | scarletspeed7 posted... Humanity is a team sport and it's kind of like buying out of the game so you can have what is essentially a life that contributes nothing to our future as a species. If only Beethoven had spent his time raising kids instead of composing, then he would have really left a mark |

Seginustemple 04/02/17 8:21:14 PM #7 | I'm liking the Thundercat and Oddisee albums, but those are the only new releases I've listened to this year. Gotta check out the new Jamiroquai at some point, but my expectations aren't super high. For warm weather rex check out Snarky Puppy's groundUP album if you've never heard of them, best fusion band going IMO. And Vulfpeck, every Vulf vid puts a smile on my face - and I see your to-do list is in no order but I have to say D'angelo's Voodoo is the perfect place to start. |

Seginustemple 03/20/17 2:25:08 AM #15 | kateee posted... there are these scenes where you're not sure whether you're supposed to laugh or not. that kind of consistent tonal duality is impressive. This exactly. Duality is a major theme |
Topic | tell me why Twin Peaks is good *spoilers for entire show* |
Seginustemple 03/20/17 2:18:29 AM #12 | Plot-related reasons aren't why the show remains so highly regarded - the murder mystery/soap opera plot web is the initial draw but the mechanics of that are a front for a much deeper exploration of the human condition, and are entirely secondary to the show's aesthetic. Becoming a Twin Peaks fan is mostly about falling in love with the town and it's characters, the uncanny mood and music. For what it's worth I didn't quite *get* why the show was so highly regarded until episode three, so I think you should watch one more! |

Those first three songs are so ace though! |

Seginustemple 03/01/17 7:57:15 PM #15 | I saw Marco Minnemann last year playing with Satriani, he put down a killer drum solo while the rest of the band took their mid-set break. He got some crazy stamina 59. Supertramp - Breakfast in America Zzzzzzzzzz. f***ING BORING. What a waste of my time I have no idea how they were ever popular. this topic is gonna be rough |
