there's a chair in the inn you can use to influence your pawn's inclination

scather is good for meleers you want to engage bosses (especially fighters, who will essentially tank), medicant sucks don't use it, mitigators is good for rangers and sorcerers if you want them to use aoe, challenger is good if you want a pawn to take out ranged enemies (really good for a sniper), guardians are bad because they'll just stay near you and not proactively engage enemies, nexus is alright on spellcasters if you want them to prioritize buffs, pioneer and acquisitor are usually unwanted but together they can make a memey gathering pawn that actively scouts ahead during battle grabbing everything they see

utilitarian is different in that it can either be absolutely useless or gamechanging. a utilitarian pawn is only as good as its battle knowledge. you might have seen pawns actively going after certain enemy weaknesses, such as using fire on enemies that fear it, fighters springboarding you in the air with their shield so you can grapple on an enemy's weak point easier, etc. all pawns will take advantage of these weaknesses to some degree as they see them (throwing fire on an enemy weak against fire has a chance to "teach" that tactic to the pawn, filling in its entry in the bestiary), but utilitarians will ruthlessly exploit those weaknesses. in addition, they will call out weaknesses they know to the party, and other utilitarian pawns in the party (even if they don't know that weakness!) will follow those orders. one example i've seen is a pawn with knowledge calling out "it's weak to fire!" and another utilitarian pawn immediately begins casting fire boon. also, if you have multiple utilitarian sorcerer pawns, they'll chain cast superpowerful spells together. it's legitimately awesome to watch.

utilitarian kinda fooled people for years into thinking the AI literally is capable of learning, but naw, each enemy just has a couple of hardcoded weaknesses to discover. the AI DOES seem to keep a record of how often you use certain abilities if you're the same class as them and it affects their skill usage, but it doesn't seem to massively impact combat

by the way, up to three inclinations can be in effect at once. top two are shown, the third is hidden

about the gryphon on your list- you're not actually meant to kill it first time you see it, and you shouldn't, because it gets a WAY cooler boss fight later on if it lives. i think you should get a quest regarding it as part of the main story eventually

also, lol, the red wyvern- i spent 3-4 hours trying to kill it first time i found it, underlevelled. didn't succeed but shit i got alright at fighting them

i like actually playing the battle system without it being horribly restricted 80% of the game, yes

having two static characters to build around and the third member be variable even within combat was great

both 13-1 and 13-2 stories were meh but at least 13-2 didn't take itself very seriously

i always go for the goat first, cuz spells suck. then i jump onto the snake's base (near where it joins the rest of the body) and chop away. that'll make the lion go crazy, but dodge for a while and openings happen

assassin also has the highest attack stat gain in the game, so you can't go wrong there

climbing bosses to kill them is not only really fun but extremely effective

The Last Remnant is decently fun, but the main thing that made it kind of unfun at times was the levelling system. It's like Oblivion in that if you level up bad (or level up characters you never end up using much), the game just straight up gets harder, and some bosses get new moves at certain level thresholds. I think the PC version toned it down some, but still.

Also you can get it for like $2.50 on steam sales usually lmao

pso2 anime might have been <_< at times but it seems to actually be worth it for Episode 4 plot

stuff like embodied weapons, earth's bullshit technology level, and the reason why the pso2 game even exists on earth is getting talked about more

Mother, the leader of Mother Cluster (that Rina was part of, and controls all the world's technology infrastructure), is basically trying to take over the world and is preparing to launch preemptive attacks on ARKS. Earth's aether is analogous to ARKS' photons although aether seems to transmit data more effectively (but Earth essentially has the same potential for bullshit technology like the ARKS do), and those who have high aptitude for aether can access PSO2 on the aether-based network. One level above them are those who can physically materialize in PSO2, and Mother tends to formally brainwash/recruit them at this point, making them her agents in exchange for high positions in society. Aether powers tend to manifest as weapons, but this one villain could manifest them as explosions that could summon underlings so who the fuck knows. Current point in the story is Hitsugi (red haired girl) trying to figure out what the fuck to fight for, with Mother attempting to kidnap her, probably due to her cooperation with ARKS.

pso2 anime by itself does feel like a bunch of weird asspulls, but it does kinda fit into pso2 the game. i mean episode 2 had time travel shenanigans retconning your entire history with ARKS so you were the bad guy in the eyes of everyone else, or something
