everyone keeps saying "remove the keeep, go republian and get a president". But why? Why would we we ever use the president-system? the riksdag as it is is very succesfful and functioning format

The Monarch is the Head of State which is a position that come with many duties and obligations. Someone need to take over that position if we abolish the Monarch.

The Prime-ministership in its current form doesn't have time to take over all of the HoS duties.

If we change the Prime-ministership as a response to abolishing the Monarchy, then someone need to take over the duties the PM let go of and who should that be? There are different solutions but they all require changing the current system. There is a reason why most Parliamentary Republics (like Finland, Germany and France for example) have both a President and a Prime-minister or similar (Germany went with a Chancellor).

The easiest way would be to keep the current system with Riksdagen and the Prime-minister and instate a more ceremonial Presidential position like Austria has.

then I really se no point in removing the monarchy, if there will still be a guy doing the eaxct sam things, and lke you said, the castles will still be there and cost the same anyway
