I really don’t know what the game wants us to believe. The epitaph says that everyone will be brought back to life, but ehh… well, I’m not sure how much it matters anyway since in the end, we’ll just toss this game board aside and go to the next one.

Well, Battler, Jessica, George, Maria, and Yasu all survived til the end, so Shannon and Kanon were able to be revived by Yasu as the explosion happened!

This story gets so much shit. I rarely hear people talking about it, and when I do it's typically negative reactions, so much so that I didn't even look at it until late last year, after hearing a comment about how it was an intriguing lovecraftian story. This book was so good that it convinced me to read through the rest of King's stuff, just to see what I missed. And it is very, very lovecraftian, being about a car that's not quite right, that drags indescribable alien creatures. And the theme of how real stories don't have some concrete ending was great, and fit the story very well. I highly suggest this to anyone that hasn't read it yet.

Yeah, the Colons have actually always been really solid. It's sad they've never found a good thing for them, but they were even fun when they were Los Matadores for a while. I don't blame them though. They can go back to Puerto Rico and get booked a ton and have a lot more fun, likely. But man, the Shining Stars was probably one of the worst gimmicks in a while. It's a one-note joke that you can't do anything with. It's an issue with them on Smackdown though because their gimmick is basically the Usos... but less unique.

They were always good though. They probably could've split them up and had them maybe team up with other people.

The best Shining Stars moment was really a Heath Slater/Rhyno moment for Survivor Series.

See I dont get that the "land of Oppertunity" keeps getting people wanting to leave. Swagger, Gotch, Colons/

Swagger came in and completely bombed his opportunity. It was a tortuous promo that killed the zero momentum he had switching brands. Don't know if that was completely on Swagger, but also an example being made of anyone wanting to switch brands. As far as I'm aware, he's the only one to jump ship outside the shake-up (besides Heath Slater trying to get a contract, James Ellsworth getting a contract, and Undertaker saying Smackdown was his home before going to RAW to fight Bork Laser). And Gotch was backstage poison from what I've heard, and the Vaudevillans were easily the lowest rung of full-timers on both shows (not counting Spirit Squad or Headbangers).

Feels bad because I could totally see Colons able to gain traction somewhere if Usos/New Day weren't so hot right now, Breezango was the best thing each week, and there were only two hours to devote to a solid women's division and men's division.

Damn. Feels bad man. I liked how Talking Smack was hyping them up a bit after the draft, as well as the name change. I wish Smackdown had more time for its entire tag team division. Usos, New Day, Breezango are killing it, we've got Alphas on standby, Ascension finally FINALLY getting a bit more to them, and Colons... upstaged and outmatched by Usos as reigning heel team.

It sucks that they're asking for their release now, though. I mean, why not for Los Matadores or Shining Stars? I feel like this is the first time where its like, "Okay, let's see what they can do!" instead of comedy crap and trading wins with 3MB every night.

I had a dream last night about Shannon/Kanon. Talk about weird... I was Jessica, totally oblivious to the Shannon/Kanon thing, but I was going on a vacation with Kanon (and he was surprisingly normal). I suggested that we stay a few days longer, but that would have cut into time George had planned to vacation with Shannon. Then my point of view changes to George and he got a letter from Shannon saying she had to help at the orphanage all of a sudden and wouldn't be back for a few days.

Only really played Renowned & Curious Exps so far. Like them both, suck at both, both play similar but feel very different so far.

Curious Expedition is fun to explore and reminds me of the exploration of A Dark Room. I like the map movement and terrain features, the limited inventory and party size making every item risk/reward to keep or buy, the dice roll combat is simple but awesome, terrain manipulation, curses, standing... it's a lot of fun so far.

Renowned Explorers has a lot more depth, and combat and trait focus, with a map system that reminds me of FTL but an economy and event-style system that feels like Gremlins Inc. It feels like it's not only harder to get into, but also much much harder to master. Lot of good humor and quest-style events though, and the combat system, though frustrating so far, is very interesting with lots of round-to-round prep almost required in later stages. A really sunny and playful Darkest Dungeon.

I was under the impressions she was already bribed. What about the remainder of that scene, where Beatrice proceeds to 'fix' Maria's candy? Rosa didn't close her eyes, did she? Therefore she saw the trick where Beatrice just switches the candy. Why would she have just let that fly unless she were bribed already?

Also, I'm not really arguing with you, I'm just trying to remember stuff. If you could explain what happened and why Rosa acted the way she did, please do.

Posting in here instead of the other Umineko topic because I've been following this one happily and have no idea what's going on in the other one yet (besides DAT VIRGILIA FACE at the top of page four).

MINOR HIGURASHI EP.2 SPOILERS? IN RELATION TO EPISODE 4

Played a bit of Higurashi Episode 2 yesterday, still very very early, the chapter about dessert day, and I feel like I would've gotten to the core of Umineko much, much faster (as in less than five years later through Seacats >__>) if I played Higurashi first.

Basically, this chapter is all about Keiichi 'remembering his sin' against Mion and how his careless actions treating Mion not as a feminine person or romantic pursuit, and the casual way he went about unknowingly hurting her is going to likely make everything to come absolutely devastating. I sat there the entire time after Rena let me/Keiichi know we did something wrong, but not telling us because we needed to figure it out ourself, thinking of the Episode 4 Beato/Battler confrontation outside the mansion. Even down to what makes Mion/Shion different, identity confusion, gender depression, and a lunkhead of a player character friend who can be a terrible narrator.

If I played Higurashi before Umineko, maybe 'remembering my sin' would've been easier to understand how devastating simple words can be.

Just needed to say that somewhere for people.

One of the weirdest experiences I had earlier this year was watching The Shining in a theater. It was easily in my top fifty movies beforehand, with great memories of the characters, scary moments, jack's descent into madness, and the room 237 documentary. A lot of the moments are still as good as I remember them.

But when you're stuck in a theater for the full running time, and you can't distract yourself or do something else during the slow portions... you really understand why critics bashed it so hard when it was first released. The movie is slooooowwww. The movie is 5% great moments, 20% decent, and 75% oh god why is this movie taking so long it's not even halfway yet?!?!

Maybe it also doesn't help that I keep remembering things that happen in the book, but have no relevance at all to the movie ((boiler)) but thought they would.

Room 237 makes The Shining much more exciting and interesting than it really is. I'm now convinced that the heavy amount of conspiracy theories for the movie are just defensive reactions by these persons to find some sort of entertainment through the long, slow slogs that make up a ton of movie time.


The book is still awesome though.
