Whenever I see a messy cart return area, I try to straighten it up a bit to make it easier on the employees. Try to make up a bit for the asshole customers, y'know? Actually, that reminds me. A few weeks ago I was at the grocery store and I had some time to kill before going home, so I took a few minutes to completely straighten up the cart return near the doors. It went from completely full of random carts to about 1/3 full of neat rows of carts. When I was done, one of the employees came over and actually hugged me for doing that.
