At heart though it's a weird mishmash of random monster movies crammed into a magical castle. Background stuff like the church, or the characterization of each belmont, is either completely useless fluff or ultimately inconsequential and changes every game. I have no problem with them taking the source material and trying to turn it into something interesting because at face value it's something super fun to play, but I couldn't imagine trying to sit through a straight faced attempt at a game-canon Castlevania show --- butts |
