Only series I ever saw was the original when it first launched. I remember being so pumped as a kid to watch it.

It holds a special place with me (sob story incoming) because me and my dad were polar opposites, but growing up this was literally the only show he would watch with me every time a new episode aired, he enjoyed it as much as I did for some reason. He's since passed, but it's something I hold onto.

That's a great memory to have. I'm sorry that he's not around anymore. My brother and I grew up watching it (he's 5 years old than me) but we grew up very close, and this is one of the things we share. So I definitely can identify with the bonding part of it. If he were to pass, it would be hard to watch PR without thinking of him.

After just being defeated by Mario, and his castle imploding from within..

Bowser walks into a bar. The bartender can tell he is in a gloomy mood.

Bowser sits at the bar. The bartender asks, "What'll you have?"

Bowser huffs under his breath, " a new castle.."

The bartender says "bottle or draft?"

I'm watching Power Rangers Turbo after the first cast left, and just kind letting it go in the background, don't really care about the characters.

MMPR was my shit growing up so I really grew to love the characters that carried on into the later series (up to Turbo). I'm planning on watching as far as I can take into Turbo/Space, etc..

Just wondering how people who started in a later series feel about Power Rangers. I feel like MMPR was the height of it's popularity.

Why do people always forgot about Reanimation?

I don't consider Reanimation a full on studio album. It's a remix album. I enjoy the album, but when people say "this is LP's seventh album.." it's because they aren't considering Reanimation an album in the same sense.

They've never really been a legitimately good band but more just like a sort of guilty pleasure thing that you turn your brain off to and enjoy. I've personally enjoyed everything they've made up until their newest one.
And I think A Thousand Suns is really underrated by the fanbase.

A Thousand Suns really suffered by the fact it had a lot of filler tracks due to the point of album was that it was meant to be a album you listen through instead of having good singles. Plus a lot of the songs don't really good on their own.

Idk,the only two songs I don't really care for are Wretches and Kings, and the last track, which I usually skip. All the other songs I enjoy

But, I do agree that the delivery was better in the earlier episodes, and definitely made it more funny. I am only disagreeing with the idea that early Simpsons episodes didn't have jokes that were funnier if you understood pop culture and events of decades prior.

I don't know that this was necessarily the point. I think the point was that there were so many different pop culture references before, and even if you didn't understand the pop culture references, you could still enjoy it/find it funny. But that it evolved into jokes where they were very blatantly "this is the joke", rather than being multilayered.

I remember when K. A. Applegate responded to people about the ending and gave that old "war is war, casualties, blah blah blah"

But that wasn't what the first 85% of the series was. I mean, there were some harsh realities sure but the last stretch was much darker. And yeah the cliffhanger thing was just stupid.

AlCalavicci posted...
Sir Will posted...
I loved the series. I have like all of them after book 20 or something. I think I missed some of the earlier ones. The school library had some and then I started buying them.

I hate how it ended. The last stretch of books got really dark and everybody ends up dead, maybe dead because cliffhanger, or just plain miserable. Only Casey had a happy ending. Or as happy as can be when all her friends are dead or gone. And don't even get me started on the auxiliary kids....

I don't remember of the top of my head the Cassie ending. Was it just that she split from the group and didn't go with the rest of them to rescue/fight Ax/Alien? So essentially she would have lived?

She happily worked in some nature reserve thing or something. She was happy and was able to move on. Even move on from Jake. Marco was fairly happy too but actually did go along with the save Ax thing.

I guess I kinda remember that. Yeah, it wasn't enough for a real happy ending. The war/casualty thing tainted everything, and Ax's possession situation, without being resolved to know that Ax would be ok, sucked..

Also I don't remember off the top of my head what happened with Tobias, but I think that was also not good, as in either he didn't join them on the ship and lived by himself as a lowly Hawk, or he did join them on the ship and would have suffered whatever fate Jake/Marco suffered facing "The One".

Bleh

In regards to Tobias he kinda reluctantly agreed to join Jake, despite feeling a sense of hatred towards Jake because of Rachael dying. But at the same time he wanted to save Ax. IIRC he agrees with Jake to ram the blade ship and even smiles.

Oh right! I remember this now. Ugh, all sorts of feels.

I think so. In the sense that, if it's most valued at 10+ years, you'd see an account of less than 10 years, hoping it will make it to 10 years.

Like, if your 4-6 year account faced an unexpected threat that could kill it, you'd be pretty upset if it was almost about to die. You'd be like.. Oh my god.. In five or so years you could have been ten+ years old ;_;
