Super Robot Wars continues to be my favorite tactics-based JRPG series. Moreso than Fire Emblem, except that I can talk to people about Fire Emblem. It is very rare that I see other SRW fans.

I also enjoy the Project X Zone games.

Final Fantasy VIII was the reason I asked for a PS1 for my birthday, back in the day. Picked up FF7 at the same time (Greatest Hits version), but I had already beaten that on PC (which was why I wanted FF8 in the first place). The next RPGs I got after that were Vandal Hearts and the original Suikoden.

Boring girlfriend season 2 looks sorta interesting but I can't actually figure out if I've seen the first season or not.

My Crunchyroll buddies are almost all in agreement that Season 2 is a disappointment. Not a major disappointment, but not equal to the original Saekano at all. Might be worth seeing if you do decide that you have already been through Season 1.

My wife and I are preparing to tackle the PS4 remaster of FFXII, since she beat P5 again and is ready for a break. Hoping that the tweaks to game play make it more tolerable this time. ... And I am going to ignore that Vaan and Penelo exist. Balthier is the main character. End of line.

And Dissidia 012 is good, but it has too much Lightning for me. And Kain taking orders from Lightning is not right.

Picking up the Final Fantasy XII remaster today. I should know better, based on my experiences from getting the PS2 version at launch, but ... Matsuno did work on it, so I feel like I have at least have to try not to hate it.

Of the classic series (because I think the reboot was excellent, and FVJ not far behind it), the third movie. Too many iconic moments in it not to nominate it, though it is also very silly (see: not one, but two instances of people leaping off the toilet without wiping or flushing in order to go investigate a noise).

Ooo. I recall seeing ads for Star Control 2 in Electronic Gaming Monthly back in the early '90s. IIRC, you can get that game on GOG, these days.

Consensus among my Crunchyroll buddies is that Clockwork Planet is a hot mess, Zoro. Several give it the "Worst of the Season" distinction. But it does have a high loli quotient.

I'm doubly disappointed that fate/apocrypha is being handled by A-1 Pictures rather than Ufotable. There's nothing really wrong with A-1, but their animation lacks a distinct personality and overall cohesion.

I agree. A-1 Pictures is the vanilla ice cream of anime studios. They do a lot of stuff, but none of it is exceptional in quality. And I feel like Ufotable is wasted on fujoshi trash like Touken Ranbu, but that is my opinion. *shrugs* My only concern for Ufotable is that they can get bogged down (see: God Eater).

Speaking of Fate / Apocrypha, it looks like that will most likely be showing up on U.S. Netflix ... in November. *shakes head* Having to wait sucks, especially with Fate / Extra (by Shaft!) happening in the same season (IIRC).

Tonight: Netflix Castlevania! Ooo, yes.

Those are my next GURPS goal. I need to look up a general list and see which ones might be handy to have around.
