ROBANN_88 posted...Darkman124 posted...is westernizing still a thing in eu4 tech groups pretty much donn't matter. al they do now is decide troop types. now, everyone starts at the same tech cost. but as the game goes on, a thing called "Institutions" is gonna spawn in a province. like the instituion called "The Renaisance" usually start in Italy. then that institution is gonna spread to other provinces. example:  as you can see, France and all the Green provinces on the map has Embraced the "Feudalism" Institution. (most nations have that from the start, except the New World, Sub-Saharan Africa, Hordes) and Feudalism has spread 0.09% in Bahmut. once it reaches 100% it is present in that province. once an institution is present in 1/10th of a nations provinces they can "Embrace" it for X amount of gold, that amount goes down as more of their provinces has the institution. now. from the time the Institution spawned, every year that passes, tech is gonna cost 1% more. up to a maximum of 50% per Institution. once a nation pays that gold to Embrace it, this penalty is removed. different Institutions spread by different factors, and different speeds based on those factors. some of these factors are things likee, it being present in a neighbouring province, or the province having a specific building, (in the case of the Printing Press Institution) you get a bonus if you are Protestant. etc etc. so, most nations will just wait until the Institution has spread to them. OR (if you have the right DLC ) you could Develop a province using Monarch points to force the spread of an Institution in that province --- |
