A new book on Hillary Clinton's 2016 campaign for president details how the candidate seemed to blame everyone but herself for her stunning loss to President Donald Trump.

Jonathan Allen and Amie Parnes wrote in "Shattered: Inside Hillary Clinton's Doomed Campaign" that Clinton's campaign lacked vision and was filled with infighting staffers who were more concerned about their own careers than they were about helping the candidate win.

The Democratic presidential nominee reportedly laid blame on several external factors — incompetent campaign staff, Russian interference in the election, the media, and FBI Director Jim Comey — rather than consider that she was a flawed candidate. Her campaign has publicly blamed Comey for the loss.

It all started with the scandal surrounding her use of a private email server while she was secretary of state.

During the first months of the scandal, Clinton reportedly thought she did nothing wrong and was angry that she was being treated "like a common criminal." She blamed Republicans in Congress, conservative donors, and the media for all the negative coverage of the email story.

Allen and Parnes wrote that while Clinton "should have been angry with herself" for her decision to use a private server while working for the government, she instead "turned her fury on her consultants and campaign aides, blaming them for a failure to focus the media on her platform."

Neither Hillary nor her husband, former President Bill Clinton, "could accept the simple fact that Hillary had hamstrung her own campaign and dealt the most serious blow to her own presidential aspirations."

That became apparent during a mid-August 2015 conference call, in which Hillary and Bill accosted high-level campaign staffers for failing to get the media to focus on Clinton's message rather than the email scandal. One of the participants on the call reportedly called it an "ass-chewing."

People make this joke a lot, but i know someone who has a masters in Bio Engineering, graduated with that from Berkeley, and he has gone back to school for pharmacy because its not easy to find a job in his field....Its not just art degrees....

and even then, going back to learn a new trade and apply that your career shouldn't be something to laugh at...

Ironically, pharmacy is an even worse place to be. It's completely saturated, and pharmacy schools are churning out more pharm grads than there are available jobs.

Sweden will “never go back to the days of mass immigration” after it emerged the Stockholm attacker was a failed asylum seeker, the Swedish prime minister has said.

Stefan Löfven spoke out against the recent mass influx of immigrants coming in to Sweden during the 2015 migrant crisis.

His comments come after suspected terrorist Rakhmat Akilov, 39, from Uzbekistan, allegedly drove a stolen beer truck into pedestrians at a busy department store in Stockholm on Friday.

Four people were killed, including Brit dad-of-two Chris Bevinton, and dozens more injured in the harrowing attack, which showed similarities to the London terror attack last month.

The Swedish Prime Minister said: “Sweden will never go back to the [mass migration] we had in autumn 2015, never. Everyone who has been denied a permit should return home.

"This makes me feel enormously frustrated. If you have been denied a visa you are supposed to leave the country."

He added: "Terrorists want us to be afraid, want us to change our behaviour, want us to not live our lives normally, but that is what we’re going to do. Terrorists can never defeat Sweden, never."

Sweden, a country of 10 million people, took in 244,000 asylum seekers in 2014 and 2015 - the highest per capita number in Europe.

There are more than 3,000 migrants reportedly living unlawfully in Stockholm alone and an estimated 12,000 migrants awaiting deportation from the country.

Politicians in the Sweden have now demanded greater powers which could see failed asylum seekers being forced to report to police stations.

It comes after details around the suspected terrorist emerged with Swedish authorities revealing Akilovhad been given four weeks to leave Sweden after his final asylum appeal failed in December.

The construction worker and dad-of-four went underground when he received a deportation order after his permanent residency application was rejected.

He was being sought by police and immigration officials for deportation, but evaded them by giving a false address.

Swedish police said that the man was known to have had extremist sympathies.

He allegedly confessed to the crime and said he was "pleased with what he had done", Aftonbladet and the Expressen daily both reported.

The motive was not known, but the method resembled previous attacks using vehicles in Nice, Berlin and London, all of them claimed by Islamic State.

On Sunday, around 50,000 people gathered in Stockholm's Sergel Torg plaza for a vigil to stand united against terrorism.

A second suspect was arrested, Stockholm district court judge Helga Hullman told AFP - but refused disclose if there were any links to Akilov.

President Donald Trump is being hailed by some Syrians for striking Bashar al-Assad Thursday for likely using chemical weapons against civilians Tuesday.

One Syrian refugee interviewed by The New York Times even said he would vote for Trump, despite being upset over Trump’s travel ban. He declared, “he’s a national hero now,” continuing “100 percent.”

“The Syrian people just gave up on anyone coming to their rescue,” another refugee said. He explained that Trump’s Thursday strike was “light at the end of the tunnel.”

Riyad Hijab, a former Syrian prime minister and opposition leader, told The Washington Post “President Trump was able to do in two days what President [Barack] Obama could not do in six years.” Hijab continued, “We call on President Trump to go even further and ground the entire Syrian Air Force, which has ruthlessly bombarded civilians with chemical weapons and explosive barrels for years with impunity.”

Trump administration officials have indicated they may strike Assad again if he uses chemical weapons. U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley declared the U.S. is “prepared to do more” if Assad uses chemical weapons again. She forcefully declared that “Assad must never use chemical weapons again, ever.” Haley also took Russia and Iran to task for actively supporting the Assad regime, saying they too held “responsibility” for the attack.

The U.S. military is currently investigating whether Russia played a role in dropping the chemical weapons. Russia has carried out thousands of airstrikes on behalf of the regime. “The moral stain of the Assad regime could no longer go unanswered,” Haley said.

“President Trump is willing to act when governments and actors cross the line, cross the line on violating commitments they’ve made, and crossed the line in the most heinous of ways,” Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said after the strike.

Charles Ray Martin was accused of touching a 15-year-old's girl breast repeatedly during a Sunday morning service at a League City church in May 2015. The victim said she was in the church's kitchen when Martin came up behind her, put his arm around her and squeezed her breast. The victim initially thought it could have been an accident, but then Martin reportedly did it a second time. The victim told him to stop and pushed him away.

Martin reportedly told the girl not to tell anyone because they could both get into trouble. The family reported the incident to church officials, who were aware that Martin was a registered sex offender. The church made a police report of the incident.

In a one day bench trial, Judge Kerry Neves found Martin guilty of indecency with a child by sexual contact. Martin faced a punishment of automatic life in prison because of a felony enhancement for a 1998 conviction on a aggravated sexual assault of a child charge.

Martin will not be eligible for parole until at least 30 years of his sentence has been served.
