Not a creative name, I am not very good with those. It's a little longer than my last, and there is more difficulty to it. I originally wanted to add a second path, but I kept rolling with ideas and the two would never catch up to each other, so I scrapped the 2nd path and combined what I could into the other path. I also think I maybe came up with an interesting boss room? I hope?

first of all

there's no way to get back up after getting this, right? I'm not missing something?

I died twice - once to the boss because I was low on life and didn't want to use my e-tank (which I never ended up needing, but whatever), and once on the spikes before the second checkpoint. those spikes felt a little unfair because by the time I knew they were there, I didn't really have time to react to them. I just chose the wrong path and the checkpoint was a tease. the second time it was very easy to dodge. I think that's one of those things where you never know how a person will react and it's perfect when you build it and know it's there.

the boss room is cool in theory. I really like that you've found a way to freeze metal man in one place, and that makes using crash man's weapon actually fun in a boss room for once. on the other hand, it's awfully slow. it's weird that you can just stand there and pause the fight, and it doesn't feel like a boss should take 2-3 minutes to beat. I like the concept for sure, but in practice it's just a little slower than I'd like.

I guess there's a PC component to this on if you can play it or not. gotta go fast ran pretty well for me after I removed a bunch of stuff.

I didn't think a whole lot of the Bomb Man fight in gotta go fast - I just wanted something thematic! glad people liked it.

they were at one point (well, a lot more were). the more I playtested, the more I realized that a first-time player would die a whole lot so I kinda chilled out. I'm all about making things look dangerous but give you enough tools to get through even if you screw it up.

timing those blocks to block the beams was not easy. for some reason, invisible blocks start on 2 and not 1? it's weird

and yeah, people are probably going to only play your levels once. Mega Maze is a really cool level with tons of different solutions but most people will just see it one time. it probably just made your level laggier for most. cool level though!

I like this level a lot! I got to what is probably the end on my first try, with the MM3 item that zips you to the ceiling. it's really easy to get killed by the ceiling there.

but man, does it lag! I think I played it at like 20fps tops. it took like a minute to load. I would continue playing it but playing for five minutes without a checkpoint is a killer when you die near the end. don't wanna do it again!

also interesting that you seem to have come across a way for Mega Man to squeeze into one block areas. I'll have to remember that.

I tried to keep it simple, no sliding or charging, and a couple more basic special weapons. I imagine things like sliding and Rush items would require me to do some extra testing to make sure I keep the level fair.


I'm surprised at how easy this is coming from you - I've been playing mega maker for a week solid now and I was expecting it to start doing things that aren't even in the game, like enemies that jump out of the pits. it was good though! the one thing that was weird to me was that you used spark man's tiles and I slide like crazy on them but you have slide turned off. I kept trying to slide just as a habit.

I guess expecting things from a normal MM levels means that you're doing a good job with your level. keep it up!

now this one, I'm not a fan of. it's a nice companion piece to the fire level, but it's one of the most visually assaulting things I've seen. I guess you could say it's thematic and I might agree with that if I was the one to build it, but everything being a shade of blue makes it kind of trial and error-y because I just struggle to see what I'm supposed to be doing. it's like bubble man on steroids.

there's also some weird stuff, like missing a rush coil jump that leads me to an energy tank below, that feels like either an oversight or a sequence break. maybe it isn't though! I died a lot here and didn't finish it.

finally played this - pretty good. I like the moderate difficulty. the floating platform section was a little annoying due to how you had to wait for them to line up while also not having a whole lot of ways to avoid the fire blasts. I reset once or twice just because I had lost half life and didn't make a lot of progress.

other than that, pretty enjoyable. lots of spikes around but they felt mostly fair. it had a good theme with all the fire hazards too.

also, I'm really weird about crazy cameras and how to avoid them. I'll usually throw an idea out if it's going to result in that, or at least try to orient the screen so that doesn't happen. it's hard with how those screen transitions go sometimes.

I'll check those levels out tomorrow. just been in a creating mood today.

I playtested the water sections a LOT to make sure they seemed reasonable (well, as reasonable as that idiotic level can be). I didn't have too much trouble but one of the problems with these kinds of things is you playtest them a lot and start to blend what's possible vs. what's reasonable in your head. I didn't think it was too too hard but then others probably don't think their tricky jump levels are too hard either!

I'm working on something else crazy right now. I'm gonna sleep on it and see if I want to submit it now or keep going.

anyway, the important thing to hear is that you're not doing anything wrong, all parents have gone through this and you'll come out the other side better equipped to handle anything that happens in life. you'll look back on it and wonder how you ever survived and have a hard time adjusting when your kid wakes you up even once in the night.

Just a few screens of ambushes, nothing too difficult. Interestingly I found it more fun to try and run through the level as quickly as possible rather than stopping to fight every encounter. Some of them you have to fight, though.


simple and straightforward. totally fine for a first level. hoping the level complexity increases but that you're able to keep the straightforward aspect of your levels.

played it, liked it. I don't have a lot to say except that this is the first time I've come across the elec man beams in Mega Maker and I had a brief moment of PTSD. those things tortured me a long time ago, I guess, and just seeing them again gave me a sense of dread I didn't know I had. so thanks!

played this - gave up when I got to the collapsing platforms and spikes. I really hate Mega Man spikes and those jumps are pretty precise, especially when a full jump is too much. it seems like a fine level but I just really don't like death traps. that's why my Mega Maze level basically has none despite the huge size. I'd rather kill you with other, less punishing stuff!

edit: ha, I went to quit and then saw I had rush coil. used that to get around the platforms and the rest was pretty fun. well, there was one part that sucked but once I figured out the way to make the jump, I was good. boss went down easy thanks to all the etanks, plus the level design works in your favour because guts man just jumps like an idiot over and over. this'll get my thumbs up.

okay, I played Gemini but a Plant. that was cute. were those invisible spikes or is that weird mega maker behavior?

I like the idea of the gemini man-ish stage. the boss felt a little dumb just because it would just keep running into my shield. I haven't tried going left though!

definitely. I made a concerted effort to place enemies around the border of the last area so that, when you start getting into the meat of it, the whole level would swarm after you. it kind of felt like a Metroid escape in its own way! I really liked how it turned out.

I just spent like 7 hours making level 24515. I think it's a fascinating level that's unlike anything I've played before - check it out if you guys pick up the game.

This was really cool.

Had a hell of a time lining up the last jump from that platform that drops you. With all the moving enemies I coudln't line myself up very well. Eventually got it but that was harder than actually finding the exit!


I treated the last section as a final challenge of sorts. I thought it felt more organic than just fighting bubble man or whatever. I took that last room as a final challenge of sorts where it just throws all sorts of stuff at you in a really terrifying way, and the best way to do that was to make you figure out how to do the very last section. I thought it worked well but I'm open to opinions! I gave enough life around there so that you probably wouldn't die and have to do it all over again.

I'll check out others' levels tonight!
