It's not like I had a particularly logical reason, when I felt like Xenoblade 2 might not make it's release date. It just felt like the kind of game that wouldn't get a release, especially an English release, so close to its announcement.

I largely liked what I saw of Xenoblade 2 but the anime stuff is definitely more of a positive to me than I imagine it is for most other people who were interested in the series.

5* +Def/-Spd Julia - Naga, Reciprocal Aid, Dragon Fang, Fury 2, G Tomebreaker 3, Hone Atk 3, Spd +1 Seal
4* Neutral Olivia - Silver Sword, Dance, Hone Atk 3, Spur Def 1 Seal
4* Neutral Lissa - Gravity, Rehabilitate, Kindled-Fire Balm, Renewal 2

It's a very makeshift team missing a lot of level 3 skills and half the team are no-SI free 4* free units. It just happens to be pretty much exactly what I needed for this event.

I only have three characters with inherited skills and by coincidence two of them happened to be Lucina and Julia. As it turned out, those two with healer and dancer support are pretty good at clearing the the 7 map version of Lunatic. My original schedule had lots of grinding and never intended for me to ever beat Veronica so I'm way ahead of schedule due to winning so often.

The problem with using the event to grind for Hero Merit is my characters are starting to hit the 2000 cap. It would be nice if I could switch in different characters, but the battles are too difficult for that.

that's about the same rate i'm going. possibly more, because i really want those 15 orbs and i'm only on pace to get 6-9 of them without stamina pots.

I think I can get some of those Orbs but I haven't decided how many I'll aim for. It strongly depends on how motivated I still am after hitting 50000.

Lucina builds tend to replace her A and C skills so Masked Marth not having them isn't that bad. No Luna hurts a bit since it's a good skill but Moonbow is considered a bit better anyways.

TRE (or anyone else), do you know if it's better points-wise to lose on the boss fight of Lunatic 7 or win Lunatic 5?

Winning on Lunatic 5 is better if you can do that consistently. However, the final map is the same for Lunatic 5 and Lunatic 7. If you can consistently win on Lunatic 5, you'll also get some wins on Lunatic 7 which will push it ahead of Lunatic 5.

Got 336 in my first Lunatic 7 run with three teams and surrendering at the last fight. I did mess up initially, but i need to make these runs more efficient. I'm guessing you get more points if you use less teams or if less units die?

You only get the speed an survival bonuses if you clear the last map. So if you can't beat the boss battle at the end, you don't need to worry about speed or survival.

If you have a 1.4x bonus unit and are willing to grind a lot, you never actually need to beat the Veronica boss battle to get Quickened Pulse. You can just keep winning 6 battles with 4 teams under the 7 game Lunatic mode. It will take 149 runs which is a little over 10 runs a day for 2 weeks.

I'm at 4599. My initial plan was to just get 5* Masked Marth but it seems like Quickened Pulse is in range. I guess it depends on if I burn out over the course of 2 weeks.

Generally if I make the boss battle and can't win on first try, I sacrifice two teams then send in my B team. My B team isn't that good but they can usually get the job done when the enemies are missing a huge chunk of their health.

Fury 2 is a pretty good skill as well. You can still use it to buff a not quite main team material character you have.

Even if you only get 4000 points a week, you'll eventually float up into Tier 16 or 17. There's no real reason to intentionally hold back.

Another thing you can do with the surrender button is to fish for higher point opponents. You intentionally surrender at team preview to teams that give a lower amount of points. You can burn through dueling swords in pursuit of a higher arena tier.

Choosing beginner or intermediate will automatically kill your score so people won't do that. However, you can surrender on team preview without breaking your streak. Some people may do that if they see a preview character that is a particularly bad matchup. But as I said, it's hard to gauge how many people actually do that. Like if I see someone lead with Wrys, I bail out since that's really blatantly bait.

The first character on your team is the one your opponent sees in the preview. Some people like to put a "weak" character in that slot to try and encourage other players to fight them and hopefully lose. It's difficult to gauge how effective this is.

Klein should always be +ATK. he's got a Brave Bow and has good but not great speed, so he's still not getting 4 hits in usually.

-Atk Klein is particularly bad because it's -4 Atk. The problem is I have no other remotely usable archer and almost never pull on colourless. As a result, he doesn't have any competition for the archer slot.
