I mean, his motivations for doing it? He could? He observed an unexplained phenomena and rather than throwing his arms into the air and yelling Godsus! He decided to perform experimentation? He wasn't inventing electricity, he was learning about the world around him.

What if.... and this is a biggun' - What if there's literally nothing that our country can do vs what others produce? What if self important knobs who can't stand on their own use this as a crutch, but unless you're willing to send most developing nations back to the stone age, we can't conserve enough to make up for an average work week?

We're empowering these nations to harvest polluting resouces to meet demand vs getting it ourself. Could be done better and cleaner and sold by us, but instead we're strangling ourselves in the name of an environment we don't even care enough about to learn more than the talking points of the latest en vogue interpretation of a disaster that's been waiting on the horizon since the late '50s.

there are 2 sides to everything. what if the robbers were desperate? maybe they had a kid in need of a life saving surgery? there have been movies about stories like that. normal people forced into crime to save a life.

Woe is the poor armed robber? Are we serious? In a world where we can crowdfund someone baking cookies, we're supposed to assume the guys coming in with loaded guns are doing it for humanitarian reasons? Armed robbery for Irma?

Meh. I enjoy it for what it is. It'd be a crappy example if everyone just ignored the divorce, continued on like nothing happened. You need time dedicated to wrapping that up. Any time character growth happens it slows things down.

I mean, there's never been a time King has actually stepped in and cared about who he sold movie rights to, however I'd say that both adaptations were acceptable, tossing out what could obviously never touch screen, even then, especially now.

There's definitely more in the book, I wouldn't call it a timeless classic, but it's far from unreadable.

Gerrymandering may not have had a effect on the election, but from what I understand there is a generalized patterns of state governments making it much easier to vote in rural areas than in big cities. Like, you'd have more polling station in a 10,000 people town than in a 500,000 people town, so if you want to vote in the small towns (where most people vote R), it's only a 10 minute wait, but if you want to vote in a big city you basically have to spend the whole day in line

It has a lot more to do with the amount of staff required plus number of polling stations per site. Your small town elementary might have 10 and be manned by 1-2 people. How many did you have in the city? 50-100 and need like 20 people to run?

It's easy to see muh voter suppression everywhere, but the simplest fact is there's also just more places you can set up per capita in small vs large, as they tend to have same/similar state facility amounts you'd set up for polling, and 1/5 the population.

Imagine living in a world where your convictions are so unbelievably weak that you let IRL shitposting affect you. Where you let random people's words enter your head, or you feel offended on behalf of someone you never even knew existed until recently.

If they chose to sit more power to them, you know when you take actions like that you'll face criticism, and the only way to win against that kind is to ignore it entirely.

What was Arpaio convicted of then? What law did he break? Arpaio did nothing wrong but see that a law that was voted on fairly was enforced, and broke party lines to do it. They waited until an election cycle came, threw everything in the kitchen sink at the man, tossed millions of Sorosbucks at a pretender candidate, and in the end with most of the bluster coming from a rag that Arpaio linked to sex trafficking (and the founders got arrested for it) the conflicts of interest in this case were ridiculous.

From a Judge with a wife who vociferously advocated his removal, to an ACLU bankrolled lawyerpalooza, they failed to successfully connect a single allegation to him and do you actually know what the contempt charge was for? He had an optional race category on his sheriff's application. Well gawd, I guess most every american company better come on down to the Sheriff's with their hands over their heads.

This case was a kangaroo court, and the contempt charge was to avoid this s***show going to jury trial, where he would have been found resoundingly not guilty, thus damaging the narrative/image of the party responsible for all this waste.

Do you act on them? Meet them clandestinely, covet your time with them and live for the next text, etc? People catching feelings and being excited about a potential new relationship is how people work, you just have to keep your current relationship in your head.

If someone were to walk in on your most intimate moment you've had and enjoyed with them, how would it be perceived? There's a simple barometer.
