It had some ups and downs. Action scenes were good, the villains were interesting. The forced drama bits were bad and the plot was underwhelming.

Doesn't feel like it advanced anything, or that it set up for anything. If it didn't happen, it doesn't feel like it would've changed anything.

i must confess, I'm white and racist.

I'm extremely intolerant of assholes and the stupid. I can't stand the fact that they're breathing my air and living on my planet. I can't stand working with them and refuse to work for them. I always vote against them when they run for office, I won't hire them or give them a positive reference. I won't sell to or buy from assholes or stupid people. I won't give them a ride. I seriously bothers me to see them reproduce and raise families of assholes and stupid people.

So now that we've established that I'm am literally a communist, nazi, misogynist, when can I cash in my white privilege, cause that check is waaay over due.

It was okay.

Didn't like the emphasis on the romance over the actual plot. Didn't like that Light acts like an a-typical lovestruck teenager rather than a sociopathic genius.

Willem Defoe as Ryuk was brilliant, though.

The only people getting outraged are alt left and are mostly white.

The bottom line is these same people just don't want to see white men in films anymore. Dr. Strange is cast as a white man, which he originally was, and it's "white washing". Iron Fist is cast as a white male and it's "white washing".

Replace the Ghostbusters with an all woman team and it's "Diversity". Turn Ironman into a black woman and it's "Diversity".

The problem is they don't actually know what "Intolerance" means.

Spidey5 posted...
Topics like this about nintendo are made literally all the time but not once have I seen these theoretical people outside of the TC's head.

Every response in this topic is rock hard denial.

"Who's defending Nintendo? Nobody does that! All they do is whine and bitch."

YouTube is 24 hour Nintendo defense full force. They click bait the thumbnail like they want to complain. They spend the first two minutes ranting and then spend the next ten minutes defending the company.

And you need look no further than this site for nonstop Nintendo defense, the sheer denial here being only more evidence. Once upon a time you couldn't even criticize a Nintendo property without getting modded on Gamefaqs. Things aren't that bad now but people can't help but stick up for them and give them all the credit they can, even when they don't deserve it.

How many posts here about limited editions and brilliant marketing? but hey, let's ignore the blatant evidence to discredit the first post. That's not defending Nintendo or anything.

Mania gets pushed by a very loud vocal minority. The sales wont reflect the hype.

The gaming populous at large isn't interested in half baked remixes of old 16 bit games. You can pull off some 2D appeal if you make it actual HD but the crowd of fanatics specifically looking for twenty five year old pixelation isn't big enough to support an ongoing franchise.

I enjoy them, as a guilty pleasure.

The only one I don't really care for is the second one. But I like the rest and how all the puzzle pieces fit together by the end.

Honestly not a lot of quality horror films lately. The new It is the only thing to look forward to.

Saw is about as good as it's gotten in the past decade or so.

Dear White People, which really isn't SJW except for some "fuck the police" moments.

I could see Orange is the new Black doing it.

Closest Castlevania gets to being SJW is leaning very hard on Christianity. Something about priests being universally evil, running around with knives and beating old men to death without a single one featuring a redeeming quality. They could've used the Church as a villain without making all Christians out to be Nazi's.

Can't think of anything remotely SJW about Stranger Things. Monsters invading from another dimension. A kid with powers. Nope, nothing SJW.

TopicWhy do some people think just because they're being honest that they can't be a
Herugrim
08/01/17 5:15:15 PM

Being honest leads to being a jerk, not necessarily an assholes.

When you say or do something stupid a jerk will call you on it.

An asshole will say things just to make you angry, even if he/she doesn't mean it.

But censoring people so they can't hurt your feelings isn't right either. Thin skin is no reason to kill free speech. If you don't like what someone says don't spend time with them. If you don't like what people say online then don't associate with those people. Just because you have a thought to express does not mean that it has some kind of protection once you express it.

Free speech means you have the right to say whatever you want. It also means that if you say something stupid, other people have the right to call you on it. Saying people can't challenge your expressions is facism.

TopicWhy do people get butthurt over food stamps
Herugrim
07/28/17 1:03:26 PM
#63
My monthly income was $1236/month
My living expenses (not including food) was $1263/month
-includes rent, water, gas (heat and stove), electric, car payment, car insurance (does not include a cable bill, which was quickly dropped as a luxury I couldn't afford, including internet)

My job pays significantly more than minimum wage, and I worked 60+ hours per week with Overtime and Holiday pay. According to social services I was making too much money for food stamps, when I literally had no money for food.

Living in a country were the job market is a bust, minimum wage doesn't come anywhere near the constantly inflating cost of living, there's no proper healthcare, no pensions, no paid time off. A country where we spend more money taking care of prisoners including murderers, rapists, and child molesters then we do our veterans or our poor, and you assholes want to take issue with a program that can only be used to purchase food.

You realize that if you push the lower class so far that they have nothing to lose, they're going to push back. Like I said, the prisoners have it better then the poor, so better to kill some privileged dick and serve life in prison with a roof over your head, a place to sleep, and three square meals a day then starve on the streets. And the person they decide to put down to provide for themselves just might be your dumb ass.

Well if she's kept it to herself then what does that matter? Not like she disowned you, or that it would matter if she did.

You can't stop people from judging each other. Religious or not that's going to happen.

Though for the record there are serial killers who say they don't mind killing people specifically because they dont believe in Hell so they figure they will just do what makes them feel good. That doesn't mean all aethists are murderers or that people with faith never kill, but it does happen.

And if you have to be scared of going to Hell to be a good person, then maybe it's good that it's there for those cases. Bad people do bad things because they are bad people, but if you can get a few of them to behave then why not? Is it better to let people be who they are even if they are child rapists and serial killers? I suppose the modern solution is to keep them dosed on medication, but you can only diagnose them afterwords. I suppose allowing the occasional victim is permissible to help identify unbalanced individuals rather then using faith. I mean, the world could use a few less people anyway.

I've enjoyed the MCU thoroughly so far and continue to do so.

I think people remember Avengers better because it was a benchmark. We finally got a superhero crossover in a blockbuster film, and it wasn't even a bad one. People hear crossover and they think Godzilla vs King Kong, Aliens vs Predator, or Freddy vs Jason. They didn't think it was possible to do it justice.

And DCU has nothing going for it yet (admittedly haven't seen wonder woman, but superman, Batman v superman, and suicide squad speak for themselves). Transformers cinematic universe is going to be horrible.

It's still the best out there, certainly of the Marvel franchises.

I was skinny, didn't care for it. Kept getting sick, beaten up, cold all the time.

Being muscular is too much work. 40 hours a week doesn't leave much free time.

And as long as I can get around I really don't care what other people think. Rather looking forward to dying alone. I'll enjoy the piece and quiet.

And starving yourself doesn't loose weight as much as mass. It just plain isn't healthy and causes more harm then good. Professional athletes eat a lot because they are active. Calories don't just vanish into thin air. You can eat normal servings but still be fat because you are inactive, like if your idea of passing time is to post troll bait on a forum on the internet.

And I'd rather die fat and happy than old and miserable.

I think people underestimate Roshi. His powerlevel was taken when he was relaxed. At full power he is at least strong enough to blow up the moon and was able to fight off Freiza's (modern, no doubt incredibly weak) army.

I don't think he's Nappa or even King Piccolo level, though. He made it quite clear in the 23rd tournament that he was long outclassed. He may be stronger now, but I doubt by much.

a/k/a Jessica Jones was my least favorite of the batch. It was more like a live action Daria than a superhero series. I think people like it just because of Tennant. It was booked as a Crime Noir style about a Private Investigator but came off more "Gurls Rule! Listen to this witty satire!" And the pacing was horrific.
